About this house rental
Situated in Door County, this attractive house for $550 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Vacationing by the lake is the consummate Door County experience. The waves will lull you to sleep and the ever-changing mood of the lake will become your favorite memory. Kite and sail surfers practice in our bay because of the calm conditions. All types of pleasure and fishing boats arrive and ore ships hug the shore as they pass. The clean lines of the Empire style interior are accented by our collection of one-of-a-kind antiques from around the world. Each area has an access to the outside by way of a porch or balcony. Each room is cleverly designed to have a lake view. The queen bedrooms are off the porch and deck on the main floor and upstairs in the whirlpool area. The standard bedrooms are off the garage and upstairs in the Carousel area. 3 bathrooms are attached to bedrooms; one in the upstairs Carousel area is not. A bunk bedroom for children has on full and four single beds. You are ten minutes away from thick and lively shopping traffic on the bay side. Our lake side is known as the quiet nature sanctuary of unique wild plants and animals. The beauty and calm has drawn the most talented actors and artists to this area since the early 1900's. We have been sharing this house for the last twenty-two years. Children are delighted to play in the sand at the shallow water's edge, walk to Anclaim Beach Park, ride the wild carousel rabbit, play the unique folk toys, or other games and antique bicycles. The collection of five hundred DVDs can be viewed as the family prepares for bed. Ask for directions to The Farm where even older children like to purchase food for the hungry baby barnyard animals. Our family ( 3 generations ) stayed for a week. We enjoyed the porches, the backyard, the view, and fire pit.
We had a slight glitch in that the oven was not operational, however the owner made an accommodation for that.
We had a wonderful time and have great memories of our time at Cedar Beach Resort.

We came up for our daughters wedding. We had my 85 year old parents and our adult children. Every one had plenty of space. My parents loved sitting on the huge porch out back watching the water. The view was amazing. Beautiful sunrises. Very relaxing. The proximity to town was perfect. Made life easy to step out for dinner or drinks. The trees that lined the backyard made things very private on both sides. The shady front porch had plenty of seating to relax and people watch. The home is Decor is eclectic and charming with history rich items. I have a fond appreciation for. We had an amazing weekend and couldn’t be happier. We will definitely be back.

• The view from the porch and yard was beautiful.
• The yard was big enough for kids to run around and play games.
• The furniture had issues. Recliners were broken or difficult to operate. Wooden tables and chairs wobbled, creaked and appeared ready to collapse.
• The coffee makers had used grounds in them. We bought vinegar to run through them and it came out completely black in one of them, yuck!
• The whirlpool bath was not cleaned when we arrived. In general, the entire house looked like it could use a good cleaning. There were clothes and stuff in closets and dressers.
• The garage door opener didn’t work.
• There were not very many towels available and we ran out of toilet paper with 2 days left.
• The steps to the lake were unusable. The balcony part had no support and would have been dangerous to use.
• One of the garage bedrooms was so tiny! It was almost entirely filled by the bed. We dubbed it “the dungeon“.
• The owners never responded to phone calls or messages through VRBO. Ray stopped by on his way to a meeting the first day but not because we had reached out. Messages sent after that got no response.
• The fireplace in the living room didn’t work.
• The house will sleep 16 but the only place for 16 people to gather is the yard.
• I’ve read the responses to other reviews so I’m fully expecting a snarky response with excuses and blame shifting.
• I love Baileys Harbor and we will be back, but not to this property or these owners again.

We had a group of 10 women on a girls trip to Door County. Some family and some friends so we wanted a place big enough so we could have our own space if we wanted. This was the perfect house for us! Plenty of beds and bedrooms and bathrooms. The porch facing the lake was amazing and we spent quite a bit of time there. It is in a nice location and could walk to several restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay here again !

Fantastic! Each family had their own space for privacy plus plenty of space to hang out together. Perfect for our parents who are in their 90s. They had first floor bedroom with walk in shower. They LOVED sitting in the four season porch overlooking the water. Couldnt have had a better mini vacation.

Our group consisted of 4 70+ ladies on annual getaway. We loved this house! Everywhere you turn, there is another interesting collectible. Situated right on Lake Michigan, we enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch, cocktails on one of the decks in the evening and a fire in the fire pit on the lawn in the evenings. House is huge with lots of character. It's located right "downtown" Bailey's Harbor and walkable to restaurants, beach, shops, etc. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean; the rest of the house could use a good deep clean. But we were happy and would return.

Great location and beautiful lake view. The property is old but that was fine with us. Unfortunately, the house was not cleaned before we arrived, leaving us to do the job, even though a cleaning fee is charged each rental.

Great location
The location is great - next to a well stocked gas station with a sandwich shop inside and within walking distance to everything Baileys Harbor has to offer. The house is spacious with ample sleeping space and a gorgeous view of the lake. Owners were accessible. No actual lake access, but a short walk to the public beach. The house could use some updates like new seating. The vintage bikes have the original tires, so they only hold air for a couple blocks. The kitchen is modern and well stocked. For some reason it seems to be a common issue for rentals to not have sheet pans, including this one.

The pictures do not do this amazing home justice. It was such an amazing home and was so nice. Everyone was so please with how well the home was stocked and the amazing decorations. We felt the cleaning fee should be waived, since the home was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. Does not appear we will even have the satisfaction of a reply. Looking back through reviews now I see others have had these issues as well. Many many better choices in Door County!
