Nestled in Sturgeon Bay, this lovely house for $494 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Our home is set on a quaint piece of Door County's shoreline. Just steps from the waters of Sturgeon Bay, its location is very private, yet convenient to the city. The Chalet was built by my father in law, who spent his life working as a shipbuilder in Sturgeon Bay. Much of the structure is constructed with wood from ships dating back to the building of mine-sweepers during World War II. We've worked hard to try and update the home without losing its true uniqueness. The Chalet hosts 3 bedroom-2 baths. With its distinctive structure, the cathedral ceilings present an open concept living/dining room area plus a newly remodeled kitchen with upgraded appliances. Captains Quarters- The upstairs loft including a balcony provide the master with a king bed and en suite bathroom. The balcony adds extra sleeping with a futon. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms & a shared full bath. Queens Stateroom-Has a bed fit for a Queen. Also a Pack & Play and an air mattress are in this bedroom closet. Crews Quarters- Supplied with 4 twin beds (1-Bunk Bed & 1-Trundle Bed), to accommodate added guests. As well as the toddler rail for one of the twin-beds. Full-size laundry facilities are tucked in the closet of this room. Also a Queen Sleeper Sofa is located in the shared living room on the main floor. From the Chalet's large patio you will enjoy the early morning sunshine peaking from the east and the evenings captivating colors lighting up the surrounding bay. Loved the location. Right on the water at the end of dead end. Dogs could roam freely and enjoy the water at their will. Easy access to the downtown of Sturgeon Bay. Easy day trips to anywhere in Door County. Very clean and well kept home.

What makes the Chalet truly special are all the little touches and details. This is a warm home with breathtaking views. Everything to make a house a home you will find here. This is a family home that deserves all the memories you can share with it. Jennie is awesome. A truly special find that deserves the respect from all who visit.

The chalet was very clean and so well appointed. We felt very safe and walked our dog all over the neighborhood. Since the snow had mostly melted, we scrapped our cross country ski plans and explored the area's lighthouses, and great hiking trails. We thought we had a furnace issue which turned out to be nothing, but Jennie was super responsive and made our comfort her top priority. We used the fire pit to celebrate the incoming of 2023, and we saw a 1,000 foot freighter cruise right past the chalet on New Year's Day - that was a bonus!

Our family stayed here during our teenager’s fall break. The chalet was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. The chalet is stocked with tons of activities for both indoor and outdoor use. I spoke to Jennie a few times and she gave us great ideas for things to do in the area.

This is our second time staying at the Chalet and we will definitely be back! There isn’t a better rental to make family memories. The view from inside and out is spectacular. It is warm and cozy and you instantly feel at home. The owner is the easiest person to work with that I’ve met on VRBO. She genuinely cares if you’re enjoying your stay and checks in often to be sure everything is ok! She even left us a welcome note and treats from Door County that we all enjoyed. Despite some cold and some rain we enjoyed everything we could in Door County. The walks, bonfires, wineries, breweries, great shopping and restaurants, all made this a trip to remember! Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us!!

This sweet chalet by the water provided a relaxing getaway while being convenient to Door County for day drives. The stay provided all the amenities one would wish for, from a cozy fireplace indoors to kayaks and bikes and a hammock. We enjoyed fishing off the dock with the poles provided. Everything was sparkling clean and the owners were responsive and engaged. There are so many places to hike/walk just a stone's throw away. We would most definitely love to come back!

We drove up to the Chalet, backed the boat into the private drive and we were at home. The home was beautifully decorated for the fall season, clean and inviting. We were greeted with a welcoming note from the owners along with gift basket. The fishing was great !! We caught 40 northern pike and 2 -4 lb small mouth, 1- 5 lb salmon , in 4 days just in case you are a fisherman. The beds were comfortable.. The area was very quiet. Kitchen was fulling stocked . We had breakfast everyday looking over the bay. Our trip was perfect! I would book this chalet again and again . Thank you Jennie . It was a pleasure .

We spent the first week of July at the Chalet and had a wonderful time. We were a group of three generations and two dogs and there was something for all of us. I can't talk enough about the warmth and charm of the home. You could see that it was decorated and maintained with love and pride. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the views and the weather. Even the yard had lovely flower containers all around to give the chalet an extra homey touch. Jennie was an extremely responsive host and any questions were responded to within a very short amount of time. There were plenty of instructions left for how to work everything in the house. I really appreciated that as we have been in other rental properties where we were left to figure most things out on our own, so I appreciated the explicit instructions for things like TV, lights, heating and AC etc. The accommodations were comfortable and there were plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware on hand. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Chalet to anyone we know who might be visiting the area. Gail

The Chalet is absolutely perfect. We hunt and fish. We had a place to dock boat & we were minutes from bow hunting. Beautiful sunsets, geese galore & neighbors aren't too close. The house is quiet, end of road privacy, very clean, and a cozy fireplace. The ambiance is perfect for a Door County Getaway. Jennie was available and attentive to our needs, she is an amazing lady!

Everything was just right! This is a beautiful and uncommon property. The shipbuilder who chose the location for his cottage knew what he was doing. The chalet retains its rustic roots but offers all amenities to make the stay very comfortable. And Jeannie was just a text or call away although we were never in any need. Highly recommended

There is good reason why Chalet on the Shore receives 5 star reviews across the board - the property is superb in every way and Jennie is an excellent host! This was our first visit to Door County and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We really appreciated that Jennie was very kind and responsive to any questions we had, and we were grateful that she provided us with helpful recommendations on must-do's while visiting. We enjoyed everything about our vacation - Door County is simply beautiful and there was a lot to see and do - but the very best part of the trip was the Chalet itself. It was comfortable, cozy, nicely decorated and packed with amenities. We loved the fact that it was in a very private location just steps away from the water. Highlights for us included fishing from the dock, kayaking, relaxing on the deck by the gas fire table, and enjoying the fire pit near the water while taking in spectacular sunsets. Thank you for the terrific experience!

What a beautiful home, well-kept, thoughtfully decorated and stocked, with stunning views of the shoreline from both indoors and out. Our family of 4 truly enjoyed our stay. We went kayaking twice a day with the fantastic kayaks provided, grilled outdoors on the charcoal grill, enjoyed the outdoor toys and hammock, and indoor board games. The hosts welcomed us with a basket of local snacks and treats, and were very responsive throughout our stay. We can't wait to come back.

Upon arriving we were immediately happy with our decision to book the chalet. Jennie and Brian were amazing hosts. Checking in once and a while to make sure we had everything we needed. The property had everything we needed and was very relaxing and well decorated. We started discussing our next trip back after less than a few hours of being there. We are looking forward to our next trip to the chalet!

We absolutely loved this cute cabin! Very clean and had everything you needed. We stayed with another couple for a 3 night mini vacation and we had so much fun! We met the owner Jennie and she was extremely nice and answered any questions that we had. This was our first time in Door County and we all loved and enjoyed it very much. Us girls might have done a little too much shopping..lol Thanks for the goody basket and the wine! We will be back!
