About this house rental
Situated in Steuben, this lovely house for $260 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Enjoy mother nature and watching the lobster boats with your morning cup of coffee from the dining nook, the screened in deck or by the water in the adirondack chairs. Beautiful sun and moon rises; very close to the Schoodic Peninsula part of Acadia National Park with fabulous views and hiking; quaint harbor of Corea-by-the-Sea; screened in porch so you can enjoy the whole evening; go to the lobster co-op in town and buy your lobster right off the boat. Short ferry ride over to Bar Harbor (and take the free bus around Acadia National Park) or drive to the main part of Acadia National Park with thunder hole, Cadillac mountain, sand beach etc. Bring or rent your kayaks to enjoy the bay and launch right from the property. So lucky to find this gem right on the beach. The house is cozy, inviting, and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The views are spectacular! The house is very clean and the hosts are wonderful to work with. We will be back!

We couldn't of asked for a more perfect house to spend our vacation at! Beth and Wayne were so kind and accommodating. They have literally thought of everything you could need during your stay! We did not need it, but thought it was so great all the things they had for little ones (pack n play, high chair, changing table, etc.) The house is so inviting and cozy feeling, all while being very spacious. We enjoyed some movie nights, as well as an amazing fire out by the water. If we are ever back in the area, we would 100% stay here again. Thank you so much for everything!

Possibly the best property we have rented. First that allowed us to use the garage. The fully screened in porch allowed us to be outdoors without battling the Maine mosquitos. So close to the water that you can hear the lobstermen talking to each other on their boats as they pull in their catch. Amazing sun and moon rises. Can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful long weekend - the house is perfect for a couple or for a family. Everything we needed was there and we love to cook! We particularly enjoyed the water views and having a fire on the beach. We would definitely come back!

We had such an amazing stay at this property. It was like living in a dream falling asleep and waking up to the beautiful view, sounds of the birds, and quiet neighborhood. The house was very well stocked and it’s obvious the owners use this house and put a lot of care into it. Perfect location for exploring the Schoodic side of Acadia, winter harbor, and ferry ride over to Bar Harbor. We were sad to leave!

This property had everything! I always bring a bin of items to every stay that homes usually don’t have, I didn’t touch it. They had everything you could need. The house was perfect! Clean, lots of beds, waterfront, beautiful town. Hosts were responsive and even sent us to a “secret” beach. Probably our favorite part of the trip!

We had a great week at this wonderful house. As everyone else has noted, the view the is spectacular. You can spend hours gazing off at the shifting light and tides, not to mention the birds and other wildlife. It was utterly relaxing.
The house itself is comfortable and well laid out. There were only the two of us, but it would still have felt roomy with a larger group. There are houses nearby, but the place feels very private. The kitchen was will stocked and we appreciated the many touches that made the place easy to live in (labeled light switches, plenty of small wastebaskets, etc.). Wayne and Beth have done a terrific job creating such a lovely, welcoming home.
We particularly enjoyed visiting these nearby spots: Chapter Two, U.S. Bells Darthia Farm, and the Bakery. Blue Hill is an easy drive and is very lovely. If you go, check out Blue Hill Books and Randy Eckard's gallery, which are across the street from one another, and the Cynthia Wining Gallery is. We also discovered the terrific Granite Garden Gallery in Sullivan, where you can see both the historic granite gallery and many pieces of carved granite artwork.
All in all, it was a perfect week and we can’t wait to return.

Beautiful property with a great view. It was nice to sit down in the outdoor chairs and listen to the water. The home was clean and as advertised. I was impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was. And the whole house was labeled so everything was easy to find. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is the place for you!

Fantastic communication with owner. When we first tried to use dishwasher, found it was not getting power. Through great communication with the owner, was resolved quickly with service repair sent out. Very modern, quiet, peaceful, serene. Lots of wildlife, especially birds. Wish we had stayed longer. One of the best VRBO rentals ever. A few things needed a bit of extra cleaning, but it gave us something to do on rainy days. Would most happily return.

The house was amazing and the
views were breathtaking! Beth and Wayne have gone above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were very quick to respond to questions during our stay. They also provided us with lots of great advice and recommendations to make sure we hit the right restaurants and locations. Next time we travel to Maine we will be booking this property again.

My husband, three year-old and I stayed here for my birthday weekend and the entire experience was wonderful.
To begin with, the property couldn't be more stunning - you can practically throw a rock into the ocean from the back deck! The dining table is surrounded by windows on all sides looking out at the ocean, which makes for such memorable meals.
The house itself is cozy and has every amenity. There are board games and puzzles, and even a built in slide for smaller kiddos! Everything is well-labeled and thorough instructions are provided for the house, so you always have what you need while you're there.
It's also an ideal location. The house itself is secluded but also close to good hikes and day trips. We did jaunts to the Schoodic Peninsula, which is close, as well as Bar Harbor and Acadia.
To top it all off: Our daughter left her prized stuffy and our hosts mailed it back to us in just a matter of days. I can't tell you what heroes our hosts became to our family!!
Bottom line: extremely clean and well-organized, hosts are incredibly responsive and kind, house is perfect for a family or a group, and property is breath-taking!

We absolutely loved all the windows with the natural light streaming in with those gorgeous views of the rocky coast and water. We enjoyed this house so much that we did not even want to leave it on a daily basis. We could stare out the windows forever watching for seals and other unique wildlife. Most days we saw a seal at least twice during the day. We were also thrilled to see many red breasted nuthatches. They are the cutest little birds. It is really neat that Beth has a board up where you can record your wildlife sightings. Very interesting to see what wildlife has been spotted! There is also much to explore on the property and in the area. Several times a day we would walk down the very short path to the rocky beach and just explore. About a quarter mile down the road is a beautiful little cove. Plus, a nice beach within a short driving distance. Acadia is just a short drive away with part of the National Park on the same peninsula as the house. It is only about a 20 minute drive away and is much quieter and less busy than the Mt. Desert Island portion of the park. We originally had a couple of other things planned to see, but we were so relaxed and enjoyed this house so much, that we spent that time at the house instead. I am so glad we did! Beth was very responsive and easy to work with. We will definitely plan to stay at this house for our future visits! Thank you, Beth!!

The bed rooms are very comfortable, and I just wish we had brought our two granddaughter who would have loved the bunk beds and the attached slide.The kitchen has everything you might need from the regular pots and pans, to a blender, to a lobster pot. There are numerous coffee cups, glasses, and wine glasses. There is even a pretty fully stocked spice rack! Outside is incredible being about 50-100 feet from the bay. It was awesome watching the sunrise, as well as the tides coming in and out. Sitting on the back porch, or the Adirondack chairs watching was so peaceful. We have stayed at many rentals through Vrbo, all of which were nice, but this Wayne and Beth's place has moved to the top of the list for us. If you are looking to visit Downeast Maine, or Acadia National Park, look no further. Highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful home. We had a amazing time enjoying the beautiful backyard ocean views, hunting for shells and sea creatures, and exploring the nearby Schoodic peninsula. Bar Harbor is just an hours drive away, but it was so nice to be removed from all the crowds. The neighborhood is quiet and the home is so comfortable. We had a few questions that were answered immediately by our host. Five stars from us. Our stay couldn't have been better. We would love to come back again!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home located in an amazing and peaceful location. We did explore wonderful nearby locations like Acadia National Park, including the very closeby and less crowded Schoodic Peninsula which we loved. Check out Frazier Point which is a great picnic area location, enjoy views of the Mark Island lighthouse at the start of the loop drive, visit Ravens Nest for awesome cliffside views, Schoodic Point where you can view the Mt. Desert Island Mountains across the water, and Blueberry Hill, which actually had wild blueberries growing along the granite. However, I'll note that the views from the house were so incredible upon arrival that we said our entire vacation could have just been relaxing at the house, which was actually a good thing for my older parents who were not able to do the trail hiking and rock climbing with my kids and I. We were greated by beautiful sunrises each morning, and moon rises in the evening, including one incredible pink full moon over the water. You could even see the Petit Manan lighthouse in the distance on a clear day in daylight, with its blinking light visible at night. We enjoyed many clear starry night skies and fires in the stone fire pit on the water as well. My children enjoyed spending hours on the rocks at the shore line watching lobster boats and looking for crabs and snails when the tide went out. We saw a seal fishing right in front of the home and many different seabirds regularly. The house was equipped with everything we could have needed, and everything was well labeled and easy to find. We did a "Catch your own Lobster" boat tour out of Corea Harbor which we highly recommend. They took us to nearby islands to see seals and to the Petit Manan lighthouse to see puffins, and, of course, we got to catch our own lobsters, which the Lunch on the Wharf restaurant steamed for us when we got back to the harbor (also highly recommend). If you're looking for a great deal on lobster rolls Tracey's in Sullivan, about 20 minutes away, had "two for" deals that couldn't be beat. They were simple but good, and this place was on the way out or back to the house from places we visited. Tidal Falls is about 25 minutes away, and well worth a trip to see the rapid like water and beautiful pink starfish clinging to rocks at low tide. It's actually a great park to picnic at with tables overloading the water. Our stay at this home was one we were sorry to see end.

Words cannot express how lovely this property and location are. The proximity to Schoodic and Acadia is perfect. You're far enough away that you're in your own little world away from the crowds and close enough that you can plan out your day trips with ease. We loved walking on the rocks, kayaking from the property and discovering all that the coast had to offer. The house is very nice and the owners are extremely friendly and responsive. You'll love this spot!

We also took a ferry ride to Bar Harbor and spent the day there. It was a great vacation for us and we would highly recommend this home to anyone.

July 2022 Trip
Our young family had such an amazing time at this beautiful property. The pictures don’t do the property justice. Beth and Wayne thought of everything and the home is stocked so well for families of any age. My girls loved the slide on the bunk bed and looking for sea glass out on the water. The location was perfect and we experienced all the the schoodic peninsula had to offer while also making several day trips to Bar Harbor and the rest of MDI. We hope to be back one day!

Amazing!
My family and I so enjoyed this rental! It was the most comfortable and well equipped house I think we have ever stayed in. It was a quick 45 minute drive to Bar Harbor and the Schoodic Loop was beautiful! Everything was thought of and provided that we needed! All of the seating options throughout the house and property were great! We so enjoyed the breakfast nook and screened in porch. Beth and Wayne always responded so quickly to all of our pre-trip questions! The neighborhood was so beautiful and quiet. Probably the highlight of our trip was the moose we saw outside the front window. Thank you!

Another Wonderful Stay!
We have been to this property numerous times. There are just too many wonderful attributes of this home to list; from the beautiful location to the comfort of this impeccable home, this is truly one of the most relaxing and peaceful vacation homes to visit. The owners are wonderful to work with & everything has been been set-up to ensure you truly leave your cares at the door.
