This is the 2nd time we've stayed at ALLEGAN FIELDS. We bring a group of friends and a couple of kids for a few nights leading up to the New Year. We always find the house to have what we need (except for the slowest drip coffee maker on the planet ;) ) A hot tub, lots of space, a fireplace, 2 fridges and plenty of towels and creature comforts to make the vibes just right. The town offers grocery + dining options and Douglas/Saugatuck is close by when people wanted to do a little shopping.
One of the best features of the area is a hike close to the Oxbow House for some time outside, walking in the woods and a beautiful view of the lake.

All is good.
The only thing we might suggest would be locks on all the bathrooms.

Grandchildren and great-grand-children came to attend the funeral/burial of their 101 year old grandmother. She was ready to go to heaven so it was a celebration. Cousins coming from different states were able to renew their friendship while sharing how she has impacted their lives. It was a very special time.

The property is spacious and clean. We had a group of 16 people - half parents and young adults (mid 20s). The space accommodated us perfectly. The basement with the ping pong table and sleep area for six was perfect for the young adults to have their space. The dining room table was just awesome - was great to be able to all sit down to a meal.
What sold me on the property were the bedrooms and six bathrooms - four had showers! The bathrooms are stocked with towels, toilet paper, and bath products: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soaps. The only thing I found missing was Kleenex.
The kitchen was clean and very well equipped - most needed appliances we there. It was great to have access to real dishes, glassware, and silverware - there was an abundance of each.
Due to the weather, we were limited in using the outdoor space, which looked very nice. A few of us used the hot tub and enjoyed a nice evening soak. Pool towels were available for our use.
The garage was spacious - accommodated two SUVs. And plenty of angle parking in the driveway for four additional cars.
The only thing we struggled with was the TV as the owners accounts were logged off previously.
Overall, an excellent stay with family and friends! Definitely in my repeat list.

We picked this location based on the location being near our Skate Ministry Leadership Conference. The house is very spacious, plenary of bedrooms, bathrooms, and definitely a really big dining room that seated our entire group during the weekend. Backyard has a pool and hot tub. You can tell that the owners work hard in making this place special and have thought through many things for their guests.
The deck is being sanded and refinished which will only add to the awesome backyard area.
Just bring your groceries and enjoy each other’s company. Will definitely stay again.

We were a group of friends on a golf trip and this was an ideal setup. As advertised and great for our group.

My group does a yearly trip to a destination and we chose fennville for this year's. The property has everything you need (pool, jacuzzi, bon fire pits, full amentity kitchen, etc) and just a stones throw from downtown fennville.
The property itself was amazing and spacious. The owner, Rick, and the property, manager, Yolanda, were both helpful with any questions or accommodations.
I would highly recommend again. We usually go out and about to different nearby cities, but we never left the house as everything we needed was there.
11/10.

This house was a good size to accommodate our large family. It was well stocked with dishes, towels, bedding, pool toys, and lots of space to play.
The extra fee for the pool was a surprise, but we chose this place mostly for the pool and we spent many hours enjoying it.

Six adults with four children between 4 and 1. The house exeeded expectations on roominess and pool/beach items. The house shows wear and tear but clean and funtional with ample cooking untensils. The beds were vey comfortable. The hot tub was a big hit. Only less then possitive items were the cleanliness of pool. Surface water was clean but pool bottom had hair and other debris. And the jacuzzi jets in master bath did not work, but this was known prior to visit.

We spent the weekend with our adult children and the space was perfect for our group. The backyard is secluded and very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and fire pit. The house easily accommodated 6 couples. We will definitely return.

We could have overlooked the myriad of little things that were wrong with this property, like: broken windows, no screens on some windows, no blinds in one of the bedrooms, broken microwave taking up space in the kitchen, shaggy landscaping, no rope in the pool to delineate the deep from the shallow end, dog crap in the yard that we had to pick up and more…but the most dangerous thing was a heavy rain one one night mid-week that caused one of the basement windows to leak very badly all over beds/bedding and the floor of that “bedroom”. And THAT wouldn’t have been SO bad, but there were power strips on that wet floor. And some of our children were bunking down there. Had they stepped out of their beds in bare feet and any of those power strips had been under water, this property owner would have had a lot more to worry about in this review besides things that were broken or less than wonderful during our stay. Furthermore, WE had to clean up the rainwater coming in (cleanup crew didn’t arrive until the next day). What’s worse, the property owner seemed unfazed by our concern about this potential electrocution scenario and even though WE paid top dollar for this joint and WE were inconvenienced on a family vacation that people have worked hard to fit into their busy lives, we didn’t receive any compensation for our trouble. Too bad. Had the owner been a little more honest with us and in his property listing, we might have considered returning in the future. Not now, not ever.

We enjoyed our stay

For the price it was OK. It is a little dated. The house was tidy but not what I would classify as truly clean. Missing some basic kitchen stuff like baking pans and a toaster. Rained hard one evening and water showed up in the basement. Just enough to get stuff wet on the floor in that room (6th bedroom). TV in the basement was broken (reported to property manager).
Location was convenient to beach and towns (10-15 mins). Located in town so limited activities within walking distance. Pool and hot tub were very nice. The kids loved it!

We enjoyed the house, the pool, hot tub and the fire pit area. A long dining table was great for our large group. The deck was being refinished and we wished it was done before we arrived.

We had a great family week. The home definitely accommodated all 24 of us. House needs some updates and the few problems we had were addressed as quickly as they could be being a holiday week. Also definitely need to update the pictures of the inside and out. But all in all it was all about Family and I’d rate it at 4.5

Enjoyed the pool on our hot vacation.

It was perfrct for our family super fun spacious area.

The home is definitely a bit dated from the photos online. However, the space is great for large groups. We did see a mouse in the home and the owners did not seem to be surprised by this discovery. The owner also never cleaned the pool throughout our stay even though it was in the paperwork that they would clean it on Wednesday. The pollen this week was out of control so it was very hard to keep clean each day. The convince of the pool was amazing though and our family loved using it all week.
I would recommend bringing pool towels and bath towels because there were not enough for us. You may also want to bring baking sheets because the kitchen only has one. If you go to a beach the drive to South Haven is definitely worth it. We had some mixed reviews about the home but overall we had a great trip.

We went for a ladies family vacation. There was plenty of room for all 20 women!!! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, etc. the coffee pots do need updating and the chairs in the dining room were a little aggravating, but overall it was an awesome stay!

This home was absolutely gorgeous! The entire check in process was very simple and Yolanda was very responsive and helpful. The home is HUGE! So many bedrooms and bathrooms it worked absolutely wonderfully with a large group of women. Downtown Fennville was very close by so any store runs were very quick. The hot tub was low when we went to get in it but was still nice and toasty warm and a wonderful addition for a late Winter/early Spring stay. I would imagine this house in the summer time would be absolutely gorgeous. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the huge dining room table was so fun to sit and enjoy each others company at. Over all this vacation rental was a 10/10. Thank you for creating such a beautiful space!

We stayed here with a group of 18 women for a moms getaway. We had a wonderful time. The house was clean and we had ample sleeping room. The linens were white, the living room and dining room areas are spacious. We were able to use the hot tub and the property manager and owner were communicative.
The floors need some updating as they are a bit squeaky and the dishwasher didn’t do a thorough job, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would come again!
5.0
Very clean, plenty of towels and toilet paper provided, easy instructions in binder to follow. Would love to come back in the summer, but also a great spot in winter. We went to Timber Ridge Ski Resort one day about 35 min drive. Wagoner’s down the street had all our grocery needs and El Jaripeo was great Mexican food for dinner.

It was an amazing cabin! Very spacious. We had everything we needed. It was nice to have utensils and other utilities ready to use. The living room was amazing for gathering everyone together to spend time. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

So much room including a table where all 19 of us could sit together for a meal! The kids enjoyed the hot tub.

9 of us gathered to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday. This was the first time we’d been together in over a decade, and the house could not have suited our needs better! We had a fabulous time. The check in and check out process with Yolanda could not have been easier, and the guest information was very clear. All of my expectations based on the VRBO page were met. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and there was plenty of seating for us all to sit in the living room (and watch U of M football beat OSU). It really was a great house to come together, play some games, share some memories and reconnect.

This house is beautiful! It is so spacious, private, and great for large groups. We had a great time and would love to check it out in the summer when the pool is open.

We enjoyed our stay at the property well enough as we were hardly there. It was clean enough but many things were broken and needed to be fixed like carpet to the basement needed to be fixed better than just a thumb tack as it was a tripping hazard. It was strange that there were no towels in the bathrooms with showers or small garbages in the bedrooms or shelves in the door of the refrigerator. The garage overall was quite dirty. The hot tub was not very warm upon arriving and lots of leaves in it thought it was covered. Make sure to leave enough time to check out on your last morning as dishes must be washed and put away not just ran through the dishwasher. All paperwork received is almost offensive in the amount of caps lettering used and appears to be yelling at guests like a child. Perhaps previous renters have been disrespectful but we were not. We picked up furniture that had been knocked over outside before we arrived, took leaves out of hot tub that were on there when we arrived, reconnected a downspout that was laying across front walkway when we arrived, etc. If I had seen the yelling in the listing paperwork prior to renting I would not have rented. I also felt it poor taste to let renters know we were being reviewed as well as it was written in almost a threatening tone. Yolanda was responsive and kind but the owner seemed a little short as he responded to one of my very kind messages with just a thumbs up emoji. I would not steer people away from renting this property as it suited our needs of a place to sleep but would encourage the property owner to make repairs, clean up better before guests arrive, provide towels IN bathrooms, and perhaps be a little bit less threatening in the paperwork so guests who were spending thousands for a weekend felt more comfortable.

We had a large group and this place was perfect! We loved how close it was to restaurants and a short drive from downtown Saugatuck, Holland, Douglas. The pool, hot tub and fire pit were perfect for our fall visit. The house is spacious and has a lot of sleeping options. A really great option for the price- we would stay again!
4.0
This place has wonderful bedrooms and space for all.
We had 5 families and each had space and many beds to sleep.
The pool was great.
Yolanda was very responsive.
We were there toward end of the season and probably some of the reason some chairs needed to be replaced and hot tub could have been a little cleaner but overall fun even during the rainy days.
The dunes were like 20 min away and worth hiking to.

The house was clean & Youlands did a wonderful job getting the property ready after a huge area power failure. These items were greatly appreciated by our extended family: huge dining room tables, ample seating in the living room, beds with soft sheets & quilts, the pool size & the spa, pool toys from the garage, great air conditioning, & comcast cable for viewing football games.
The property has some wear & tear issues that need work, but nothing that impacted our stay. We greatly enjoyed being close to Oval Beach and Saugatuck Miniture Golf, & Cranes Corn Maze. I prepared eight meals in the kitchen & greatly appreciated the microwave, stove with working burners, oven, two refrigerators, and all the utensils and serving bowls. Being together was such fun & everyone had a good time.

House was perfect, both inside and outside, for our family of 15. Great pool and Hot Tub. Long eating table for everyone. Big front lawn for outside games. A real plus was, being a short walking distance to downtown Fennville, Saugatauck Dunes Park, and Pier Cove Beach.

This house has a lot of good features:
- the dining room table could seat our entire party (14 people) at the same time
- there were plenty of beds/rooms for everyone
- the outdoor dining areas could seat all of us
- the pool was great. Plenty of chairs, including seating in the sun or shade
- the living room was big enough for lots of people
But there was plenty about this place that was bad:
- I messaged the owner a few days before our arrival to ask how to gain access to the house so I could communicate to the others in my party in case they arrived before I did. Instead of answering, he told me to scroll through our messages and read them all including the attachments. I did that and found a section in a document sent nearly a year before when I made my reservation that said to text Yolanda if I was going to be late. Otherwise she’d be waiting to let us in. So I messaged him to confirm that I got it right and he called to say yes - after he condescendingly asked if I’d read all the documents. Ugh! Wouldn’t it have been easier for both of us if he just repeated the instructions I asked for even if he thought I was dumb for not remembering them?
- the first time we used the grill, the part on the bottom just disintegrated (sorry I can’t describe it better, but we had to jury-rig a solution with disposable baking pans)
- there was only ONE shelf on the refrigerator door. We were storing food for 14 people and we really would have liked to have the space for condiments, cans, etc.
- the coffee maker was stored in the pantry after the last guests without being cleaned and with their filter full of coffee in it
- the coffee pots were ridiculously slow so we cleaned them with vinegar. It was clear they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. We used 5 liters of vinegar to clean 2 coffee makers
- the documents that described the house access also said that garbage day was on Tuesday. The book of instructions in the house said the same thing. So we put out the garbage cans and no one came. I texted Yolanda and she said garbage day was Thursday. So on Thursday we put the garbage out and no one came. I texted Yolanda and the trash was finally removed.
I won’t return to this house but if you have a big party, try it out. It really wasn’t all bad.

Some areas great some not so good!
Process of acquiring property went smoothly.
Surprised property was in town. Front yard not very large and on a busy street. Back yard was peaceful and memories were made! Pool was dated and deck needed refurnishing. Several of chairs were broken. Told manager about chairs and some arrived on last day. Thought manager would come daily to service pool but came 2x. Grill needed to be repaired or replaced. Manager said grill parts would be replaced then said wrong parts came in. It was replaced on Friday. House had adequate space but pull out upstairs was uncomfortable. Dining area was wonderful and all fit. Kitchen really small for large group. Wash machine and dryer could be replaced. Some areas of house could be updated as well. When arrived 3 of 4 trash cans and all recycles were full. Told manager twice. She was frustrated as she said pick up has not been consistent. Was picked up on Friday! My so called trash company. Did have nice beach chairs and rafts. We made lots of wonderful memories at Oval Beach, Saugatuck, St. Joseph, breweries and water park. Location is central. Kids liked walking downtown and frequented Mexican grocery store. I asked adults and children to rate n average was 3.5.

Great location and wonderful pool!
If your looking for a comfortable old house with a big nice pool this is it. Some updates but needs lots more. Kitchen was tight for cooking for 12 people. Needs updating in many ways including the cookware. Dining room is great for eating and playing games. Mattress are just ok. I bet if the walls could talk would be great stories. The kids loved the pool and the space to spread out. Location was perfect to South Haven, Holland and Saugetauk.

Great Home Close to Beach
Home was large enough for our family of 22. Twin beds in the queen bedrooms is a nice touch for families with children.
Large dining room table was great for family dinners and game nights. We paid extra for the pool to be heated and would recommend that to anyone staying at the beginning of summer.
Fennville is a cute small town with some nice local restaurants and many attractions are only a short drive away.
Definitely recommend this home as an affordable option that accomodates large groups.
Couple of items that need attention:
-Coffee Makers need updated. One of the Coffee Makers takes hours to brew a pot of coffee.
-Pillows aren't comfy, would highly recommend if you can, to bring your own pillows.
-Would be nice to have an electric skillet
-Blender didn't work
-Replace broken chairs, there were a couple broken chairs that were out on the deck.

We had 12 adults and 9 children and plenty of space for everybody, my only suggestion is some kind of gate between patio and pool. We had a great time. Plenty to do in the area.
