Located on the east end of the fifth floor, DG #401 has SIDE WINDOWS for AWESOME VIEWS DOWN THE BEACH, day and night. And there is nothing between the 30' x 8' balcony railing and the Gulf of Mexico but sand, sea oats and happy vacationers footprints in the sand! Destin Gulfgate is a 65-unit family oriented gated condo located in the middle of Destin, off Hwy 98 on 465' of beach. Come see for yourself why this family-friendly, gated condo is a repeat favorite year after year! And Destin #401 is the best way to enjoy that vacation! A Being on the east end, away from the center elevators, means more privacy, and quiet time. The unit was decorated in relaxing beach colors and decor to give a Florida beach cottage feel....this is the beach after all. This custom floorplan is one of the largest 2BR 2BA units in Destin with 1430 SQ FT heated and cooled, in addition to the 30' foot balcony. Among the quietest condos at Destin Gulfgate for the following reasons: 1. End unit of 5th floor of the building--no neighbor on left side. 2. No one walks by front door or 2nd bedroom windows except occasional persons who use stairway rather than elevators. But then stairway users would normally use west stairway on other side of building where the pool and boardwalk to the beach are. 3. On quiet side of building away from boardwalk, deck, pool and boardwalk. A large fully stocked kitchen makes it easy to dine in the condo rather than eating out all the time. Laundry room has new side by side washer and dryer. The 2 separated bedroom suites have their own baths and privacy with lots of closet space. THE WHOLE UNIT HAS BEEN TILED WITH 16' DIAGONAL TILES. The condo is within walking distance to THE TRACK Amusement Park and a half mile from BIG KAHUNA Water Slide Amusement Park-kids of all ages will love this and so will the parents. . Also within walking distance to restaurants (Ruth Chris Steak House, The Back Porch), breakfast places, pizza, and more. Fifteen golf courses are within a short driving distance. Patterned after New Orleans French Quarter walking environment. Wednesday nigh concerts. Have lunch at Harbor Docks in mid Destin (Jaws II scenes were filmed there). Eat at one of two Dewey Destin's restaurants. One on US 98 across from Waffle House. Other is on the pass (body of water that connects Gulf and Bay) on two dock that go over the water facing East Pass and Crab Island. Turn right at last street before Destin Bridge (Calhoun Street) then turn left at "Dewey Destin sign". GPS 9 Calhous Street. Proceed over rickety road to the parking lot next to the water. Enter hut, order, go to one of the picnic table on one of the docks and food will be brought to you. Really good fried shrimp. Tired of seafood: Mexican at Pepito's. Great Margaritas - try medium size option with ice; If you order large one, call a cab to take you back to condo after dinner. We had an awesome week at Gulfgate in Destin. The unit had a balcony and great view of the beach and ocean. Beach service for 2 was included in our stay, so we didn't have to lug chairs across the beach each day. The kids enjoyed the heated pool each afternoon. The unit was clean and spacious with a small kitchen area that we utilized daily. Bonuses that were much appreciated: washer and dryer in the unit, icemaker, and (seems like a minor detail, but it was much appreciated) handsoap at kitchen and bathroom faucets. We would definitely stay here again should the opportunity arise.

Very clean, beautiful furnishings, large balcony deck spanning the living area and MBR overlooking the gulf. Gorgeous views of sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. Friendly, easy checkin. I will definitely be back!

Owner was very responsive and easy to work with, genuinely concerned that everything was perfect, and it was! Well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, pillows, cd's and dvd's, even a few games. Owner prepaid for beach service during our stay, and left his netflix account logged in. Staff at the condo were friendly and helpful, elevators quick, and overall facility well-kept. Walking distance to mini-golf, souvenir store, the back porch restaurant, and henderson beach. Private beach area was much less crowded than condos either direction. Easy drive to the commons in one direction, and the harbor area in the other direction. No place is perfect, and so in the spirit of leaving an honest review, I'll only mention that the toilet paper dispensers in the restrooms were only about 12 inches off the floor and hard to reach. Kind of odd, but other than that, no issues whatsoever. We would definitely stay in this unit again.

This condo was perfect for our family of 4! There was plenty of space for everyone, including the separate suites. We felt the condo included lots of little extras that just made life easier, such as a fully stocked kitchen, the sharing closet, coolers, and the ice maker was definitely an added bonus. Roland was on point with his communication. He came to meet us, gave us a quick tour of the place and showed us how everything worked. We loved his suggestion list and tried several, which ended up being our favorites. He even texted to be on the lookout for a nearby manatee, which we saw and was the highlight of our trip! The place was clean and the private beach was awesome for a less crowded experience. We would definitely recommend and will definitely book again the next time we visit Destin!

This was by far the most beautiful property I have stayed at in Destin! The location was beyond PERFECT! Waking up to ocean front view every morning was so serene and relaxing and the balcony is huge!! The property itself is huge and could easily accommodate 6 people very comfortably.
The check in process was more than accommodating, Roland texted ahead of time to make sure it was a good time for us to go over some of the technology and other things in the property, which in my opinion was a very much needed walk through as well. We did not really watch TV much or use the DVD’s, etc…but they’re there for your use. There is a great selection of books as well, there is also a closet full of beach toys ( we did not utilize it) but in case you have little ones! The dryer definitely came in handy, as we had wet clothes, towels..etc and it was so much easier to dry them that way. There are both a coffee maker AND a Keurig machine. I could go on forever. Roland and Pat literally thought of everything, extra towels, blankets, pillows.
Above and beyond that, the little tip for loading and unloading was so so so helpful. I watched others struggle with the process and it was a breeze for me. I am little and so that was very important to me since was not getting much help with the luggage. The communication was way above par! I will definitely be staying there again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The owner went above and beyond to answer all our questions and concerns, and even accommodated our travel plan changes. The unit has amazing views of the ocean. Private beach made it easy to always have a comfortable spot for our family, and it’s location for as close to all our Destin favorites like the boardwalk, Back Porch and Commons Area. The unit came fully equipped with everything we needed and then some. We would definitely stay here again!

Great experience overall. Loved the location and the owner was very nice. I think I could have skipped the tour of the condo and how things work but it did provide for some information on local events and ideas for places to visit. Also loved that they provided beach service as well. I would recommend that the clean staff do a little better job. Some out of eye sight places needs cleaned and dusted. Also a bathing suit was left hanging on the back of our bathroom door. Nothing to complain about in my opinion. Everything in condo worked but we hardly used anything other then the TV in the living room and laundry machines. I would stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to visit Destin.

Best Place to Stay in Destin!!!
The Guidry's have thought of everything! The condo is fully stocked and nothing was missed. Every little thing was thought of and ready for us. The condo is very spacious and beautifully decorated. The balcony is everything you could want and more. The best part of our stay was definitely the beach. Front row seating the entire week. We could see other condos with 2 or 3 rows of chairs deep. We were very thankful for the beach setup at Destin Gulfgate. Mr Guidry was great to work with and really cares about his renters. If we visit Destin again, we will 100% stay in this location!

Great as always
Our family has been staying at Destin Gulfgate every year for over 10 years. This was our first stay
with Colonel Guidry. Very nice and well equipped with everything you need and very spacious. We really liked the layout as each bedroom was it's own suite and you did not have to walk out into the living area to go into the bathroom from the bedrooms or there was not a door leading into the living room from the bathroom, which makes it private, while at the same time being able to shut the bedroom doors still allowing access to the bathrooms. This is an end unit which we like and the access to the exit stairs was great instead of using the elevator. Colonel Guidry was great to deal with and very responsive to our questions. It was actually our pleasure to meet him, looking forward for our return.

"Beachykeen"
We've been going to beach every year, until COVID, for the last 18 years. We typically travel over Memorial Day weekend and have our usual places we stay. This year, by chance we came across this gem on the beach! The owner greeted us for our first day, which was a very personal touch; we were renting his place for the week. Expanded how to use his electronics, weekend the shared beach closet, full of goodies; and since they owners are locals, have us a printed list of "must do/see while staying" with great restaurant recommendations! The beachfront is owned by the property, so this Memorial day weekend, if you looked to the left or right of the condo, chairs were 4 rows deep, beach crowded, almost on topbof one another; and ours was one long row of chairs, that's it! Felt like our own private, quiet beach! We will be planning our future stays again with the Guidry's condo! Thank you for a great week!!

Exceeded Our Expectations
We were a group of four adults with a 3 year old and a 1 year old and we were very happy with how clean and spacious this property was. We loved the size and layout of both bathrooms. The bathroom off the master bedroom was large enough to accommodate a full size crib which was perfect because we discovered the baby and all the rest of us slept better when the baby had his own room. We also loved the balcony and the high top table really enabled us to enjoy the beautiful oceanfront view. The kitchen was very well stocked and we also appreciated the beach toys for the kids and extra beach chairs as well as the beach service for two. The kids loved the pool as well. We also appreciated how accommodating our host was. Roland was quick to respond to all of our questions and once we got settled in came over to personally show us how to work the electronics and give us some tips and recommendations on things to do. This was our first time to Destin and we absolutely loved it. We sure hope we are able to come back and if we do we would not hesitate to stay at this property. The property and the host were exceptional!

Nice property, overbearing owner
The owner made the experience uncomfortable and very stressful. He sent at least ten texts prior to arrival, multiple emails and required an in person visit the moment we arrived. I drove 12 hours with three kids and the last thing they needed was a tour of a small condo from a stranger.
He Insisted on coming in the condo and walking through the entire place with us just 15 minutes after we arrived. I politely asked him to leave as my kids were extremely tired from the ride, but he said no. He had to walk us through how to use the light switches, turn on the tv and explained what WiFi was while my kids, who had just arrived, were stressed and ready to nap. It was as if I went on vacation with my grandfather.
He was nice and the place was great, but I wouldn’t go back. He made it so uncomfortable that we regretted it before we even arrived.
To put it in perspective, It’s like I went to a hotel and the hotel manager texted and emailed me 15 times before I got there and then came to my room the moment I arrived to show me around and explain the rules. I didn’t pay all that money to feel like I was staying in a place that didn’t want me there.
Destin is great, but I wouldn’t go back to this property.

Location and views were 5 star! You will definitely enjoy everything this condo has to offer. It's a corner unit with beautiful window views. The deck is so spacious that you can enjoy the Gulf of Mexico and the beach for miles. The owner, Mr. Guidry was so kind to me and my family. He goes above and beyond making sure you are familiar with everything the condo offers and everything that is fun in Destin, Florida. Spectacular views
We loved the condo, beach and local restaurants! Condo is very spacious, has great views, is well stocked with everything needed and beds are comfortable. The owners are wonderful! They are very attentive and went above and beyond to help us out when our car broke down. We will definitely rent this condo again.

Excellent November getaway
My mom and I had a wonderful and relaxing time staying in this condo. It was easy to find with Roland’s detailed directions and the check in was a breeze as well. The building the condo is in itself is very well kept, quiet, and secure, and while the condo isn’t the newest on the block, it is carefully maintained, clean, and comfortable to stay in. You really can’t beat the view or the corner unit!! We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area, pool, and short walk to the beach. The location was perfect for our needs, nestled perfectly between all our favorite restaurants and only a short drive to other Destin activities like the outlets, Baytown Wharf, and the harbor (it’s also very close to kids activities like water parks). We will absolutely be repeat customers and can’t wait for our next trip to beautiful destin.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit is clean and spacious . The kitchen is well equipped with kitchen utensils. I loved the balcony - just relaxing and watching the water views . The beach is not crowded . The owner is very helpful . Hopefully we’ll be back next year and rent this place again.
