Rustic 2BR Cabin w\/ Private Sandy Beach & Forest Access
About this cabin rental
Nestled in Tiny, this attractive cabin for $137 per night is a great option for your next trip. Ole Cozy is a very basic 2-bedroom cabin with a queen bed in one room, one twin plus double in the other, and a pull-out couch in the living room. It has a full eat-in kitchen as well as a private deck. There is a three-piece bathroom with toilet, vanity sink, and a basic aluminum shower. This is not a luxury rental and the price is reflective of your access to the beautiful, private sandy beach across the street exclusively shared with other renters. IMPORTANT 1. The property is on a well so you must bring your own water. 2. Terrain around the property and on the beach is natural and uneven and so is unsuitable for those with wheel chairs or mobility issues 3. Due to the high iron content in the well water the toilet bowl and shower area can get stained between cleanings 4. Even though we "treat" the properties" before the season and try to control during the season, with these properties being in a forest surrounding there is a definite presence of mosquitoes, spiders, ants, and possibly mouse droppings. 5. You must bring your own linens and towels 6. No visitors permitted without prior approval Enjoy long walks through the forest, go for a swim in the crystal clear waters of Georgian Bay, or take a 10-15 min walk along the water to Balm Beach. At Balm Beach you have access to Balm Beach Go-Karts, Mini Golf, The Balm Beach Smokehouse, the convenience store with LCBO, ice cream parlour and the Georgian Grill & Family Arcade Ole Cozy is part of a compound known as Tondakea Lodge which consists of three 2 bedroom cabins, one 4 bedroom house, and one 2 bedroom house; all bookable through VRBO (See bottom of this description). Located across the street from our private beach, at the edge of a 27 acre forest, it once was the home and school of Franz Johnston, of the Group of Seven artists, and later became a resort in the 50s. Although updates have been made over the years the buildings still retain their original charm and rustic feel. Across the road and down the pathway through the dunes is a beautiful section of natural, sandy beach that makes staying here such a pleasure. The swimming is fantastic.

I don’t understand why this kind of rental is on VRBO. This is a wood cabine with hole on each side of the doors, so bugs can come in. There is mold at the bottom of the walls, principally in the bathroom and one of the room. The cleaning was not done, but even if the host offered to do it, it was so dirty that we didn’t want to stay there. The inside of the shower was rusty and on the pictures of the rental, we could not see it. So, we opened a case with VRBO to be reimbursed, but they told us to talk with the host, what we did. We got reimbursed only two out of four nights. No refund of cleaning fee. We are very very very disappointed of this experience with the owner and VRBO.
The only positive point is the beach.

Ol' Cozy was a cute cabin nestled into the forest only a short walk from a private beach for guests. Room furnishings are rustic, but the bed is comfortable and fans/heater are provided to manage your comfort.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is rustic but very comfortable! The beach is great (bring water shoes) and the chairs provided are a great touch. Our only note would be that you have to climb some sand dunes and this cottage is accessed by a trail that may not be suitable for people with mobility issues

Family getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and location. Billy was lovely. If the bathrooms in the cabins were updated I would rent for longer, but they are very rustic (as described). The private beach is spectacular.

Lovely getaway!
We had such a nice and relaxing time at the Ole Cozy, the beach is absolutely gorgeous and the cabin is really cute. We had an incredible weekend here, highly recommend!

Last minute
For a last minute vacation, this experience was overall very good. Willy the host was GREAT. Location was awesome. The cabin itself was fairly dated and rustic. I would definitely book here again but think I would request a different Cabin.

Perfect beach vacation
We loved our stay in the Ole Cozy at the Tondakea Lodge. A clean and cozy cabin that had everything we needed. The beach was amazing and we spent most of the days there. The provided beach loungers were comfortable and the sunsets were gorgeous. Willie even organized a beach bonfire for all the guests to enjoy. My 4 year old didn’t want to go home! We are planning to come back next year.

4. Lost water 30 min latter lost the electricity. Couldn't able to clean baby after poops.
We wanted to left same night but no light help to load the car. Waited till morning and left.
We are not looking for luxury but unit was definitely not leavable condition.

The showers would turn cold a bit quickly but with four people and a small water tank we anticipated that! It was so much closer to the beach then expected and the beach was beautiful and clean with a great sunset view. Willie was an amazing host and it was wonderful meeting him and Ozzy! We would definitely recommend this place to others if you looking to get away and disconnect from the busy life and live a bit simple for a few days. Just bring some extra blankets as the nights can get a bit chilly! Thanks for everything Willie!

Cabin was period with some modern touches. It was tidy and clean. Included comfy beach furniture. Beds were alright. Fans were welcome. We had fabulous weather. The beach is sandy, but you may want water shoes for the rocks at the edge of the water. We had a good time.

Loved our stay here at Ole Cozy
Everything was great about our stay. It was peaceful on the grounds and the beach. We just relaxed, enjoyed reading and bbqing . That stove is a lot faster heating up than mine!
The beds were comfy and we felt very safe here.

Another awesome stay at Ole Cozy!!
We had another awesome weekend in Tiny! This is our 3rd visit to these cabins and our second stay at Ole Cozy. The private beach is just wonderful. We also headed over to the arcade and restaurants nearby as well as the go carts and mini putt. and even took in a movie at the Drive-In. Great family fun. The cabin was very clean and the host super friendly and courteous! I hope we can get back there soon.

Rustic and comfortable
The hill climb up to the cottage is a bit difficult with luggage,. Bedding and food. On cold nights the lack of central heat was challenging. Overall we had a nice time and rate ole ozy high no

Great retreat
As the description says, this is a rustic cabin. If you're looking for a quiet retreat with a fantastic beach, this place is great. Irka was very friendly and accommodating.

A great stay at Ole Cozy
We love Balm Beach! We had a wonderful weekend at Ole Cozy. Our 10 year old said it best, "it's just like its name, Cozy!" It was a very cute cabin (we loved the doors and lamps!) and very clean and quiet. The barbeque was also very clean and well maintained. We also really appreciated the electric fans in each bedroom! The private beach was lovely and the picnic table and extra chairs were greatly appreciated. Definitely not for folks with mobility issues since there is a tiny bit of a walk on uneven terrain. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Erica and then shortly after by Bill - both were very friendly and courteous. Our host was always available by text and would respond very quickly. Nearby, there are beach front restaurants (one with an arcade), a couple of shops and go carts close by with the quaint town of Midland just a short drive away. We would definitely head back to Balm Beach and highly recommend the Tondakea Lodge cottages.

Loved it! Quaint and clean
Cute and welcoming. Perfect for a small get away with friends. All essentials were provided without the unnecessary stress of technology. Private beach was beautiful and walk to main beach was relaxing.
