Historic house, 1.5miles from U of I University

About this house rental

Situated in Champaign, this lovely house for $325 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Willis House is located in a safe, older neighborhood, with tree lined streets and deeply shaded yards. Great shopping, city parks, and the University of Illinois are a short drive away. You are close to a lively downtown area that has many great bars, restaurants and live music. The neighborhood is very quiet and inhabited by long term home owners who look out for each other. Our home is heated/cooled by central heating/air and boasts wonderful original hardwood floors throughout much of the home. There are 2 public golf courses locally: one in Urbana and one in Savoy out by the airport. A short 10 mile drive away is the Lake of The Woods County Forest Preserve in Mahomet, which also has a golf course and a beautiful 900 acre park for a picnic or walks. Our first floor welcomes you with an entryway and curving staircase to the upper floor. There is a living room, office and half bath off to the right. The living room is big and roomy, with a couch and 2 side chairs plus a TV. There is a fireplace but it is not usable at this moment. The office has a large desk, should you need to work from home. On this floor is also a dining room table that comfortably seats 6 plus a high chair. There are folding chairs in the front hall closet should you need them. In the newly remodeled (2022) kitchen you will find everything you need to prepare a meal: stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, plus plenty of dishes, utensils, pots, Keurig, drip coffeemaker, etc. The west wall of the dining room is windows that look out onto the enclosed porch with 2 couches. Outside on the patio is a table with an umbrella and 6 chairs. The fenced back yard is deeply shaded. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms that will sleep 9 people. Each bedroom has a full length mirror. The master has a king bed, a crib, closet, TV and comfy chair. The master bath contains a shower, sink and toilet. The upstairs hall built in cupboard contains 2 air mattresses and bedding. Please let us know you will need these so we can leave the cupboard unlocked. There are 2 more bedrooms each with a full bed, dresser and closet. Through one full bedroom is access to an area that was refurbished into the 4th bedroom (freshly painted in 2022) and includes 3 twin beds, closet and dresser, perfect for the kids. This room has a window air conditioner. There is a second full bath in the hall that has a shower/tub, sink and toilet. In the basement is a washer and dryer. You are booking my home with a stated number of guests and beds. We do not allow outside visitors or parties at the property. The garage has a Tesla car charger and is where you will find a charcoal grill. You may park in the drive or on the street as signs allow. Parking in the yard is not allowed. Normal outside noise is permissible: soft music, laughter, children- but we ask that you observe a 10pm curfew for noise. We ask that you bring pets that do not soil indoors. Paws should be wiped clean with paper towels going in and out and ask that they do NOT climb/sleep on furniture, especially our white bed linens. There is pet stain/odor remover available for accidents, as well as a pooper scooper to clean up potty. We provide many basics for short term stays: trash bags, dish soap, paper towels, Keurig pods, sugar, creamer, salt/pepper, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, hand soap, facial wipes for makeup, laundry soap pods, dryer sheets, kitchen hand towels, oven mitts, plus one set of bath towels per person. The vacuum, mop, and basic cleaners are also available. If you will need anything extra, please let me know and we will try to accommodate! There is a house book in the dining room that contains all check out information and procedures, house details, as well as local information for dining and shopping.
