About this house rental
Nestled in Koloa, this attractive house for $93 per night is a great option for your next trip. Boulay Inn is nestled on Kauai’s south side in rural Omao. It is your own secluded home away from home with all the amenities to ensure your comfort. There is a spacious airy living area, a queen sized bed, tiled shower and a verdant yard outside your windows. Your accommodations are airy and comfortable with a combination of ceiling fans and sliding glass doors. We have tried to think of everything you might possibly need for your island home. Cooking facilities, entertainment center, including cable TV and Wifi are all available. No need to lug your hair dryer, there is one in your bath. A washer and dryer are provided because we don’t want you to spend any of your Hawaiian vacation in a laundromat. Omao (meaning green in Hawaiian) is a convenient hub for all east, west, and south shore activities. Sunny Poipu Beach is just minutes away with swimming beaches and all sorts of water sports such as snorkeling, diving, surfing, boogie or stand up boarding. We have most beach accessories for your convenience, including beach towels, chairs, cooler, boogie boards, and snorkel gear. Remember to bring your sunscreen. If golf is your game, choose from three beautiful courses within a fifteen minute drive. Old Koloa Town, Poipu and the surrounding area abound with dining and shopping choices. There are over thirty restaurants within a ten minute drive and several areas with "lots of different kinds of shops". Koloa town has two grocery stores, a pharmacy and a bank. It is hard to find a listing that reminds you of home yet gives you the experience of beautiful Kauai. The Boulay Inn did just that!!
From the moment we arrived to the minutes before we left, Sheri and Jim could not be more welcoming, kind, and supportive! Their location was incredibly close to the southern beaches yet allowed access to the main highways to get West or North with ease! The listing came supplied with all the items we needed to make our trip more affordable by cooking meals at home and unwinding after a long day of adventuring. Christmas in Hawaii is a beautiful thing, but Christmas at the Boulay Inn was a magical experience!!

What a gem to find on Kaua'i. The apartment was the perfect size for two of us, very clean and had everything we needed, including a space to park our car on the property and the use of a washing machine. The location was great and Sheri was the perfect hostess. She always met us with a smile and her suggestions of places to visit were ideal. 100% recommended.

We felt very comfortable at Sherry's place. It was spacious, charming and had everything we could possibly need. Flying in late, we so much appreciated the goodies she had left for us… milk in the refrigerator, pancake mix etc We enjoyed watching sunrises from the apartment. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, charming and met our needs. Very convenient location. Thank you Sherry for having us.

Would stay here again. Quiet and beautiful neighborhood away from the resorts. Close and central to everything on the South shore and also good home base for West side activities. Sheri and Jim are super friendly and helpful people, around for anything you need but also give you your space. They even left us some nice welcome gifts and Let us use beach equipment. wifi worked well and place was clean.
Would (and plan on) staying here again. Fair price - grab it while you can!

It was perfect for my wife and I. We explored the whole island from here and when ‘home’ it had all we needed. The hosts are great, helpful and very friendly. Great beach amenities and use of laundry facilities. If cooking and staying in, all you need is here!

This property was truly a gem. The location was centrally located and only a 5 to 10 minute drive to close to Koloa or Poipu. The apartment had everything we needed and then some. The Boulays were very helpful and friendly. I will definitely stay again. Thank you so much!!

Boulay Inn lies in a quiet Koloa neighborhood, giving a realistic feel of what it would feel like to live here. The apartment is complete with one bedroom/bath, living room and full kitchen with refrigerator and stove. The owners thought of every amenity and provided it all. They even welcomed us with a beautiful pineapple, bag of Hawaiian coffee and cereal. Milk and sodas were in the fridge! Sheri and Jim were very friendly and welcoming; we felt like we were just friends visiting them. They even kept their garage door open so we could do a load of laundry! It was a lovely stay for us, most of the day we were out with all our activities, but it was a nice place to come “home” to!!

Spacious and clean with all the accommodations! Used snorkel and beach equipment at nearby Poipu Beach. Safe and friendly neighborhood. Felt truly relaxed being away from any cities or resorts. Lots of activities and restaurants within a reasonable distance.
Comfortable bed! Awesome wrap around porch with views of the garden island. Hope to be back here very soon for another stay.

We have been more than pleased with our stay. The place is adorable, with so many special little touches and some sweet welcome gifts from the owners. It felt so safe that we did not feel the need to lock any doors when going outside. Everything of interest to us was an easy drive away. They also provided so much useful information about the island in their Welcome book. Sheri is such a sweetheart and a real pleasure to converse with. As an extra bonus, they provided all beach accessories like chairs, towels and snorkeling gear. We are very thankful to the owners for the lovely stay at their very special place and look forward to returning in the future. This is the place to stay if you are visiting Kauai.

This is a small, cute space that is very well equipped in every way.
What make this rental stand out were the hosts, Jim and Sheri who were very helpful for any of our needs.
The location is a plus with quick access to the main highway going to Waimea and Lihue and only 15 minutes to Costco. It is in a local neighborhood on a county road so there is some road noise and dog barking.
The views from the balcony are nice where there is enough space for drinks, snacks or a meal.
Inside, there is an abundance of kitchen utensils, towels and condiments, the kitchen is functional. There is a counter with stools but no table. The hosts added a small table on the deck for us on request.
The bedroom has lots of storage and closet space, the bathroom was nice, the medicine cabinet was full of goodies.
Comfort wise there were a couple of issues that we brought up to the hosts who have since changed and improved those levels dramatically.
Jim and Sheri are so nice and without a doubt their aim is to make your stay here perfect.
Because of the comfort upgrades we are adding a 5th star to our rating.

sheri & jim were fabulous hosts and we enjoyed their warm welcome & hospitality. the upstairs apartment had us feeling like we were coming to a relaxing home instead of just a room at each days end. location was perfect for easy access to the roads to lihue, waimea canyon & poipu beaches. we especially loved having windows on all
sides so we could enjoy waking to views out every window and also fall asleep to the sounds of the gentle rain. we would certainly stay here again. 🌺

We stayed there for 13 nights and loved this central location. It is in Koloa which is 5 mins drive to Old Koloa Town (excellent food trucks), 7 mins to Poipu beach (best snorkeling spot on the island), 15 mins to Lihue (airport, costco, walmart). All of our activities (waikua river kayak, river tubing, zipline, ATV ride) are all within minutes of this place. We went to the north for Kalalau trail to the waterfall (must if you're into hiking) and was glad we didn't stay up there. It was very touristy in the north vs local feeling in the south. Lots of local restaurants with great food in the south and Hanapepe historic town. For best shave ice, Waikomo shave ice in Koloa or Wailua shave ice in Kapa'a. The traffic in Kapa'a was also horrendous and glad we didn't stay on that side either.

The place itself is top knotch and was perfect for our Kauai adventures, but what made the stay exceptional were the hosts who made us feel welcomed and cared for. This was our favorite Hawaii stay and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was my 2nd trip to Kauai and my only regret is that I did not know about this place the first time. There is more than enough room for two people. The kitchen has everything you’d need, the bedroom and bathroom were plenty big enough and there is living room space as well. The idea of staying on somebody else’s property might be off-putting to some, but we felt there was ample privacy. The owners were very welcoming and they simply go about their life while you go about your vacation. The house is a perfect distance from the airport allowing you to be away from all of the tourist traffic but yet not so far away that you’re disconnected from everything. One of Kauai‘s several beaches and small towns is just a couple minutes away. If you want to spend four or five times as much money to stay on the northern part of the island and have a three times as long of a drive from the airport, go for it. But you are throwing time and money away. This place was perfect and I happily recommend it to any other couple visiting the island.

The location was easy to access, very comfortable, and perfect for our planned activities - hiking in Kōke'e, seeing Waimea Canyon, viewing the spectacular Nā Pali valleys, and shipping in Poipu (without doing the busy resort stay). Shari and Jim were friendly whenever we were chatting and hands off when we were just enjoying our vacation in paradise.
Our unplanned overnight adventure on the the Nu'alolo/Awa'awapuhi hike might have raised Shari's blood pressure and we regret giving her a scare. But, we made it back and had quite the story to share with her.

We had a wonderful stay in Omao! The space is beautiful and had a great view. The hosts were a very friendly couple and we enjoyed chatting with them. We had to work one day and had no issues with the Wifi. Would strongly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay while on Kauai!

We loved our stay at the Boulay Inn. We were here for a week and Jim and Sheri are absolutely gracious and kind. Our daughter fell in love with their dog Makai (the best part of the trip for her!). We had everything we needed- snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach towels, washing machine, and all the amenities we needed. The pineapple and avocados waiting for us when we arrived were ono! I loved that our stay was close enough to the beaches, resorts, and shopping but yet far enough that we were able to experience the homey and rural experience of Kauai. Highly recommend this place and we hope to return one day!

We enjoyed a taste of the “greater Poipu” area yet off the beaten track of tourists. It’s also close to Kauai Bible Church, where I love attending when on Kauai. The upstairs unit is balmy & private & the owners are very friendly & allowed use of beach chairs, towels & snorkel gear. They left us a local fruit basket too! ❤️

Very comfortable and convenient with everything you need
We loved our stay at the Boulay Inn. Sheri thought of everything we could possibly need. We made delicious smoothies with the fresh pineapple and bananas using the pineapple slicer and smoothie maker. There is snorkeling equipment and beach towels. The Boulay Inn is spacious and very comfortable.

Anniversary Getaway
Overall, we had a nice stay at the Boulay Inn during our anniversary trip to Hawaii. The owners were very kind and helpful in providing recommendations for the area. The property was very clean and came stocked with most everything we could have wanted/needed during our trip including things like beach towels, chairs, laundry facilities, a fully stocked kitchen, and even small details like fresh fruit and coffee.
It was plenty spacious for just my husband and I, and was in a good location for exploring the southern and western parts of Kauai. With that being said, we were a little surprised at the lack of privacy with the property. We understood that this property was attached to the owner's primary residence when we booked, but did not realize that each window on the property looked out on the owner's and neighbors' residences and yards. It got a bit loud at times when neighbors were outside (no fault to them) and in the early morning with the roosters. If it were cooler and we could have closed the windows, this may not have been an issue; however, with the heat/humidity, we needed the airflow to keep it somewhat cool (no air conditioning).
