Island Sands 103 Convenience at it's FINEST! Gulf Front, Ground Floor!
About this condo rental
Situated in Okaloosa Island, this charming condo for $265 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Wake up to the sounds of waves in this ground floor unit. Feel the warm sun and the white sand under your feet as you walk down to the beach, just steps from your back door. This condo is great for families with small children or couples. There are no stairs, elevators, or balconies to worry about. There is a grassy area right off the back patio that allows you to relax while sitting right next to the sand dunes. The master bedroom hosts a brand new King Jamison Turnberry double pillow top mattress, a flat screen TV, black out curtains, and a private half bath. The living area includes two queen size sleeper sofas for extra guests, and a large flat screen TV/DVD player. This is one of the few units at Island Sands that sleeps six people. You will love the full size kitchen with a large counter bar. The kitchen is fully stocked with: Dishes, cookware, electric can opener, blender, coffee maker, mixer, toaster, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and oven. The unit is supplied with plenty of nice linens, extra pillows, a large capacity stacked washer and dryer, and an ironing board. Wireless internet included. 12 Cup/K-pod Coffee Center Keyless Lock (no keys to keep up with you go to the beach) Beach Service included in rental March through October, (2 chairs and 1 umbrella set up each day at the beach for you.) The pontoon boat is rented exclusively to our guests. The boat needs to be reserved at least 24 hours in advance. The boat launches out of the Fort Walton Beach Yacht Basin. Pontoon Boat I go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. Plenty of pillows on each bed, along with extra sheets if needed. Plenty of towels are provided. Extra paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products, laundry detergent are provided. I even provide a puzzle, board games, and movies. Beach towels are provided. The only thing you need to bring is food and clothes and you are set. This is a small, quaint and private complex with a total of 27 units and only three stories high. The complex has a large communal pool with lots of lounging space to watch the kids play!! Barbecue area next to the pool. The positives:
First of all, we loved the location of this condo. Super easy to access beach and pack stuff to and from. No shoes required just a few steps to the boardwalk. Easy with kiddos to travel back and forth for lunch or if we forgot something. Also, the beach service was excellent with providing two chairs and an umbrella and the guys were super nice. The beach was not crowded since the condominium is only three stories and it was family friendly. Parking was easy to get to, steps from the door. The water and the sands was beautiful! The condo was fully stocked with lots of towels, rags, dishes and everything we needed!
The negatives:
When we arrived the whole condo smelled like rotten seafood/curry. It took us a while to figure out that it was coming from garbage disposal. We had to go to the store buy bleach and garbage disposal cleaner to try to get the smell out. It was awful. It got the smell out somewhat. The wifi never worked and the coffee pot leaked when you poured it.

Kimberly and her staff were great and very attentive to any concerns or needs. We're coming back next year.

The property was really close to the beach which was the best thing about this place. Not very far from Destin at all…so gorgeous beach minus the Destin traffic. No major issues that needs to be addressed.

Location is fabulous especially with a 4 year old! Cleaning could improve. Beach was beautiful & close. I was sad not to see the beach every morning but happy to to have to struggle to bring in groceries. Restaurants are very convenient to this location. Overall great stay.

Perfect for families. The condo is not busy and it’s right in front of the beach. With an active 7 year old, being on the ground level was a plus. The only things to note: they do not have additional beach chairs, sand toys, and the pull out voice facing the TV could probably use a new mattress. Overall, would definitely return.

Even though we didn't have a view of the ocean because we were on the first floor, the short walk to the boardwalk and beach made up for it. It was very convenient. Our only complaints were the wifi being spotty at times and the shower water pressure being poor. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we were very comfortable the entire trip.

Such a great location, could not be closer to the beach. You walk out the back door and over a short boardwalk, and there it is. The chair service was excellent. With two small kids, it's really liberating to just waltz up to the beach and grab a chair without having to truck it all in yourself. The condo itself was well maintained and clean. Bed was comfortable. The pull out couch would be terrible for an adult to sleep on, but for our 4 year old it was fine. Kitchen had all necessary cooking utensils/pans/etc. Check in was very smooth, we were able to enter earlier than stated check in time. Only complaint is that the locks on the sliding back doors seem to need replacement. I couldn't get them to lock at all, had to put the wooden dowels down and walk around the front if we wanted to secure place while we were out at the beach. Not a dealbreaker though and probably an easy fix. Will definitely be back!

1 BR ground floor beach-side condo
Easy online booking; responsive management. Location was only minutes to businesses we needed. Property was as advertised. Clean, well-furnished. Great to have a full kitchen for easy meal prep. SO much better than a hotel stay! Patio was great for relaxing and eating outside, and is just steps to the beach walkway. Our November visit meant few people on the soft sands at the water's edge. Our first late afternoon, we were greeted by a Blue Heron, and a "fever" of rays swimming and jumping out of the water close to the beach! Weather was cool and comfortable. Sunsets were wonderful, and relaxing on the beach at night under the full moon was magical.
