About this cabin rental
Nestled in Ohio, this charming cabin for $170 per night is a great choice for your next trip. At the turn of the century my great grandfather and grandmother, George and Golda Scott, purchased this farm. In 1963, when my father graduated from Ohio State with a degree in agriculture, Great grandpa George gave him and my mother this farm. My parents farmed this (along with about 900 other acres) and raised three daughters here. After my parents’ death in 2004 and 2005, I, Dalelene, that middle daughter, and my husband, Dave, and our youngest daughter bought the farm and relocated here from Lancaster. We are so happy to live here. After living “back home” for five years, we decided to use this beautiful farm for more than just a residence. The George and Goldie Cabin is a way we thought that others would enjoy our 80 acres. So, with the help of Ron White Builders, we built our first cabin to allow others to experience the calmness, serenity, and solitude of our family farm. We named this first cabin after my great grandparents, George and Golda (I called her Grandma Goldi) Scott; the George and Goldi. We hope you enjoy the property and remember with fondness, your time here.

This was the perfect place for a romantic long weekend get away! Perfectly private but yet just a short drive to many places to explore! The cabin comes with everything you could possibly need, and has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in away from home. Would recommend to anyone and would stay again ourselves!

It’s been a couple weeks since we visited this cabin, and we’re still thinking about it. My spouse and I loved this little cabin. It was beautiful, well kept and perfect for our getaway with our dog. We cannot wait to come back again to enjoy it. Thank you for providing such a nice retreat for us to enjoy on your property. We will be back again soon!

I stayed here with my fiancé and Ava our cockapoo and had the best time. We were celebrating our new engagement and my 29th birthday. Communication with Dave the owner was great. It was the perfect little cabin in the woods with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We went to hocking hills which was about 40 minutes away and then came back to go in the hot tub and watch scary movies. The bed was comfortable and the tv had Netflix already logged in which was nice! Would stay here again.

Lovely property and cabin, the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. Having a view of the sunset from the front porch was great! There are lots of trailheads and parks nearby which is a plus. I was more than happy with my stay, would definitely recommend!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was beautiful, clean, and had everything you needed, with cooking supplies, several towels, robes, pillows, blankets, etc. We appreciated that the owners sent us an email with specific directions to get to the cabin as well. It was a very cozy and comfortable cabin and stay!

Different hot tub, patio table, couch, coffee pot, and fire pit than pictured.
I was attracted to this listing bc of the check in/check out with no person-to-person contact and disinfecting of all high touch surfaces. However, upon arrival, over an hour after our scheduled check in time the owner was still present - and while the surfaces might be sprayed with Lysol there was no evidence of wiping anything or dusting. Throughout the stay I observed dirty cups, pans and utensils in the cupboards, a dish scrubbing brush that should be thrown away. There was visible dust on the ceilings, cabinets, top of fridge, end tables, counters, and toothpaste/soap splatter on the faucets and walls around the sinks and on the bathroom mirror. The holder for the toilet paper roll had so much fuzz on it you couldn’t see the heads of the screws holding it in the wall next to the toilet.
There was hair from previous visitors on towels w/ strong detergent scent. The provided pans had scratched teflon and there were various plugins emitting their aroma throughout the cabin. The blades on the AC were dusty and it smelled like the filter needed cleaned.
There were dead stink bugs in the tracks for all the windows in the house and the inside/outside of the glass was visibly dirty.
Toilet, hot tub & shower clean and operational. We were very comfortable and the hosts allowed us a late check out for breakfast plans. Just won’t cook there and will bring our own towels and pillows.

We enjoyed our stay so much we plan to return here as an annual vacation together. It was such a clean and beautiful property. The stars at night were incredible! Wonderful hosts.

This was our 2nd stay at this cabin. Such a Beautiful property. Love the views. I’m a clean freak and some of the dishes needed re-washing but other than that. I would highly recommend :)

My dog, husband and I stayed at the cabin for just a few days but it was just the little geg away, i think we all needed! Not only was the bed extremely comfortable, but the views and peace n quiet were incredible! We will def be back!

This is a wonderful place to stay, very well-kept and extremely comfortable. Unlike others I have seen, the hot tub was in good working order and very clean. Nothing beats the panoramic view from the porch. Very enjoyable with a cup of coffee in the morning.

this little cabin on a hilltop brought my future wife and i a weeks worth of relaxation and peace that im not sure ill be able to find anywhere else. Less than a half hour from Athens and nothing but countryside in between. We cooked all our meals in house and ate on the porch listening to the birds chirp and cows from down the way. Night dips in the hottub and listened to the rain as we drifted off to sleep. 100/10 would recommend to anyone trying to really, really get away from the stress of work and the city. Will be coming back!

We really enjoyed our stay. This was so private and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub. We watched the deer in the area walk by. We felt comfortable enough to let our dog off lesh to play outside. The cabin was perfect for two. The owners were responsive and kind. The only thing I would say is the internet could have been faster, but it was fine for streaming or browsing. We loved getting away!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin. It was so cute, quite and private. We loved drinking our coffee on the porch and looking up at the stars at night. It also wasn't too far away from hiking spots. Will definitely be back!
