About this house rental
Nestled in Sunset Cliffs, this lovely house for $337 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. One and one half blocks to ocean. Incredible ocean views from the private rooftop patio. This modern 2 story house plus private rooftop deck has two bedrooms with full baths plus queen sofa sleeper and twin sofa sleeper. Near the activity of Ocean Beach and walking distance to Sunset Cliffs and restaurants. Walk One and 1/2 blocks to the ocean. 4 miles to SAN airport. Modern appliances including keurig coffee maker, granite kitchen counters and AC, washer and dryer. Two queen beds in master bedroom on first floor, one queen bed in other bedroom on first floor (ground floor) with TV and enclosed outside private deck. Queen sofa sleeper upstairs in living room and twin sofa sleeper upstairs. Air conditioner upstairs. Enjoy the beautiful Ocean Beach weather from private patios off the master bedroom, the rooftop and off the kitchen. Sleeps 9 adults in beds. Two Smart TVs with Amazon, YouTubeTV and Netflix. A propane barbecue grill on the private rooftop, two Beach chairs, two Boogie boards, 9 beach towels and beach toys provided. Private Car port access through alley behind house, one car spot on the west side, plus plenty of free street parking. This is a neighborhood. NO LATE LOUD PARTIES! One mile to ocean beach. Visited our son’s family over Christmas. The location of this property was perfect for us…great access to downtown OB and Point Loma area. The rooftop deck is amazing, and we appreciated the covered car port, too, plus easy street parking in Point Loma Ave for our family. Troy was very communicative.

This was a great place to stay. Everything was clean and working. Plenty of balcony space and the rooftop patio had plenty of seating and a view of the ocean.

Unit is a rear, 2nd unit off the street and on the alley. For the money, an excellent value with 2 master bedrooms and spacious kitchen/family room up stairs. Clean throughout (see note below). Communication with owner was great, he’s very responsive.
A couple for challenges included a very strong and weird smell on the 2nd floor (kitchen and living) that was a cross between mold and something decaying. There was a wad of black hair in my shower. Exterior windows were quite dirty but was a minor issue as they are all covered with closed window coverings.
All of these challenges might be transitory so I’m sticking with a (mostly) positive review.

Entire family had a great time. Only suggestion would be to have shampoo and soap for bathrooms. Nice location and little market on corner was a lifesaver

This house was in a great location. It was just a couple blocks from Sunset Cliffs and less than a mile from Ocean Beach, where there are plenty of restaurants and other things to do. We spent each morning for breakfast and evening on the rooftop balcony enjoying the view. Troy was very responsive to any questions that I had during the trip. We would stay again if we come back to San Diego.

The location was perfect. The view at the top of the roof and space up there was incredible. Beds were comfy and lots of kitchen storage space!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The property was in a fantastic location, and we enjoyed grilling out on the rooftop balcony! The property has a really neat floor plan. There are a few repairs that need to be done - loose faucets, poor water pressure, all minor, but noticed. We would stay here again.

The Host is making improvements to the property. Much of them completed. Parking is on the street but it's free and there's plenty of it. The view from the roof was great for Happy Hour. Comfortable and secure property.

Our group of 4 had a lovely time at the beach house! Everywhere we wanted to go was a short walk or drive away, amenities were great, and wow, did we enjoy the rooftop terrace! Thanks for a great time.

We enjoyed our stay in Ocean Beach. The rental was clean upon arrival but needs updating. It was too cold during our April visit to enjoy the decks. Coffee pods were the only extra in the unit—no spices, condiments or soap and shampoo in the shower. We found convenient parking in front of the building every day. The two floors had a spacious feel. Check-in was easy with a simple door code.

We stayed here for Spring Break with 3 kids under 10 and 3 adults. The property was comfortable for us all and the roof deck was amazing. The location could not be better - a short walk to the beach and the downtown OB area. I also really appreciated having a liquor store/deli that had many items we needed just two doors down! My only complaint was that one of the downstairs bathrooms didn't seem to be thoroughly cleaned before our arrival, and the toilet was difficult to flush. Otherwise our stay was great, and the owner was prompt to respond to any and all questions.

We had a group of 3 moms and 4 girls staying for a visit/tour of Point Loma University. It was a great location just a mile from the school and walking distance to food and little shops. The home had everything we needed for a great stay. Troy was a great communicator. The rooftop patio was a wonderful plus with beautiful views. Definitely recommend this place for a vacation with family/friends.

The area isn't right in the heart of any action. But, aside from grabbing groceries or dinner, that makes it PERFECT. There's parking in the back, but plenty of parking on the street too. It didn't hurt that the weather was dreamy while we were there, but maybe that's just San Diego for you!
Our boys each had their own queen sized bed. Each bedroom has it's own small but totally adequate bathroom. laundry is right on the same floor with the bedrooms.
My husband worked during the days while we went out and explored and it worked perfect for all of us.

We really enjoyed our stay! The rooftop deck is awesome. The kitchen is set up to cook easily with a group and the house layout is nice for a group of 8 . Everything you need to stay is available (brief fyi, no shower/shampoo/conditioner).
The home is older with some CA wear and tear and not as many upgrades as fancier, newer homes but is completely comfortable to stay in and we would happily rent again.

Location was good. A little bit of a long walk to Ocean Beach (listing says it's a mile, but that's to the very corner, plan on driving). Great morning and evening walks at Sunset Cliffs just a block and a half away. Could use some updating (subfloor issues on first floor, beach items aren't in great condition and there were no boogie boards, furniture/bedding feels old). Overall a nice play to stay.

It would have been 5 stars… however, when we got home we discovered that we accidentally left the (obviously inexpensive and well-used) boogie boards provided in our truck with our surf boards. I immediately contacted Troy and offered to ship them back or reimburse him, and without any communication he ordered two new boards worth twice the price and sent me the invoice. After communicating that the boards and price points were not comparable, I told him we would just ship the boards back, and he agreed. He then began harassing me repeatedly about what he should tell the current guests who wanted a discount because there were no boogie boards as advertised (according to the listing there was supposed to be 24 hours in between guests for their cleaning practices anyway, but he states the new guests were checked in just hours after we left). After many apologies and shipping the boards back, I finally had to tell him that it’s his job to decide what to tell them just to get him to leave me alone. His final response was that I needed to reimburse the current guests $40 for their boogie board rental, and he threatened to give them my personal contact information so they could collect the payment. He was not rational in our discussions and made me very uncomfortable. Such a shame too, because we definitely would have stayed here again in the future.

What a fun two nights. Place was clean and perfect location. We loved walking to the cliffs for sunset if not on the balcony.

Our group loved the beautiful rooftop patio from which we enjoyed the sunsets and ocean breeze, and with all the beds and pull-out couches, there was plenty of room for all. Great location as well, for getting to and from either the beaches or downtown.
The only downside of our stay was the unseasonably warm weather, and the one small AC unit was not enough to comfortably cool the whole house, but we were out enjoying the city during the hottest part of the day, so this wasn't a big issue. Would gladly stay here again in the future!

Sometimes a short term rental has pictures and you show up and the place looked better online. We walked in and even though the pictures looked great, it looked even better in person. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Troy was a friendly and accommodating host. Would definitely stay here again. Oh and couldn’t get enough of that rooftop view.

Good for kids (if you can keep them off the stairs) and nice kitchen was great. View from top floor patio is wonderful (though I couldn't figure out the umbrella). Minor issues like you expect in any house but overall about as big and nice a space you can find this close to the water and with any AC at all (AC was a little underpowered but if you're stuck at home and have it on early it'll keep the upstairs nice and cool, the downstairs nice enough until the cool evening air arrives). Has a parking spot which was a little narrow for our van but there is plenty of easy street parking. Lots of bedding and towels was helpful. Really easy communication with the owner (though I didn't need to talk with them much at all because everything went according to plan).
