About this cabin rental
Just south of Cannon Beach, OR, Far Cry is located down a secluded, wooded road and sits just above the beach with a full view of the Pacific Ocean. The north end of the beach is Cove Beach and at low tide a cave to Arch Cape is accessible. To the south is Falcon Cove named after Cape Falcon, a headland which rises 750' out into the Pacific Ocean. Maximum of four occupants. There are two separate bedrooms, one bath, a fireplace, hiking trails and lots of old movies and games, comfy chairs in which to relax your cares away and of course 180 degrees of ocean right outside. The kitchen is stocked with spices and cooking utensils. Fresh linens await your arrival. For now, 1-2 dogs are welcome for a $25 PER dog. Water is to be conserved at all times.

The views of the ocean were million dollar views. It didn't matter if it was raining or sunny, we had both. The access to the beach was right beside the house. The beach itself was very secluded and very few people were on it. Our dog loved it! The cabin was clean and comfortable.

Wow. Location, location, location. Views were amazing. A bit daunting to have to worry about water usage due to effluent restrictions. That needs to be addressed and should be stated up front not after you make the booking. Heating system needs updating as well. Kitchen was adequately supplied but is a hodgepodge of stuff as was the furniture. But overall it was a very peaceful retreat

I would give the location of the rental a 10 out of 10 but the house a 5 out of 10. The location is wonderful! It's in a quiet seaside neighborhood right on the ocean. The views are excellent and the beach is magical. It's a long stretch of sand beach with tide pooling on either end, with a walk. Unfortuantly the house is dated, as is everything in the house. With some TLC this cabin could be a fantastic place. But as it is, many things need to be replaced and cleaned out including mattresses, pillows, linens and the stove. The cabin also has some quirks. There is limited water so you need to do the dishes in buckets and then dump the buckets out side. The owner also asks that you take limited showers and watch the number of times you flush toilets. There is also a dehumidifier that the owner asks to remain on. We also had to contact the owner about an issue and it took four emails and a phone call before we heard back the following day. Great location, just understand that you are renting what I would call a dated seaside dated cabin with quirks.
