Bull Durham: Proximity + Amenities & Easy Check-in
About this house rental
Located in Durham, this lovely house for $226 per night is a great option for your next trip. Summary: Spacious, welcoming home with an open living concept. Located downtown adjacent in an urban, diverse neighborhood minutes from many of Durham's favorite coffee shops, breweries and restaurants. Driveway with room to park multiple cars. The home has salvaged barnwood floors, marble counters in the well-stocked kitchen, and a lofted front porch with cushioned seating and hammock chairs. The location near to downtown makes it a perfect home-away-from-home for a weekend or longer! The Space: The open concept living / dining / kitchen are cozy and welcoming. Our builder focuses on utilizing salvaged green building materials where possible, so while the space is new, it has lots of character! It is a far cry from a cookie cutter new build and is unlike any place you've ever stayed. We fell in love with the charming home on first sight and we hope you will love it too! The house has four queen bedrooms. Two of the rooms have a Jack and Jill bath between. There is a second full bathroom accessible from the common area. We use Free & Clear Unscented laundry detergent on bedding and towels so our guests with sensitivities to perfumed products can breath easy. The leather sofa and side rocking chairs in the living room, and pivoting TV allow for a comfortable place to gather or wind down. There is covered deck at the front of the house, and a deck with table in the fully fenced in backyard. Guest Access: The entire home is yours to enjoy, including the decks, backyard and washer/dryer. The Neighborhood: The house is 7/10ths of a mile from the DIY District including Motorco, Geer St Garden, Fullsteam Brewery and Cocoa Cinnamon. It's also an easy trip to Duke, RTP, the downtown Farmer's Market, & many local (and delicious) restaurants/cafes & local bars/breweries. The house is in an urban, income diverse neighborhood. Our home next door on Alston Ave also serves as a Vacation Rental with a gate connecting the two yards, "| Modern Open Bright | Spacious + Clean Aesthetic" Getting Around: The house is very easy to access and is a short drive to downtown, NC147, I85 and Durham's main thoroughfares. If you're taking a bus, there are many bus lines that should easily drop you off very close to our house. Lyfts and Ubers are abundant in the area as well. Other Things to Note: We have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, your Amazon or Hulu account, and many other apps. We Cut the Cord on Cable, but offer YouTubeTV which functions similar to Cable and offers tons of Live or On Demand Options! Interaction with Guests: We want you to be able to settle into this home as if it was your own. We'll stay out of your way, but we're just a quick message away if you have questions about restaurants, events or the house, or if an unexpected issue arises. We are happy to answer questions that you may have! Whether it's a hankering for a local cider, a sudden urge for a new haircut or a desperate need for a donut, we are happy to help you find the closest and best place to make that happen.

This house was perfect for our weekend stay in Durham. It was conveniently located within minutes of everything we wanted to do. Great communication from the host. No issues checking in or with the property itself. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at this lovely home for parent's weekend. It was close to Duke in a quiet location, clean with plenty of towels. We've stayed in so many rental houses that were skimpy on towels, so this was notable. Our hosts provided lot's of information on the area and were very responsive.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. However I suggest screens be added to the front bedroom windows and curtains hung in that room. There is dearth of ventilation in the kitchen. Screens in the front bedroom would help greatly. Street light shines across the pillows at night. The house sits on a surprisingly busy road and the traffic didn't let up much during the night. Report from a back room was that is was too much noise to allow an open window.

We just loved this house! We loved the old reclaimed parts of the house mixed with some modern touches. The location was fantastic for getting around Durham. We took advantage of the good food just down the street a couple of times. The house was super clean and very comfortable. Would stay there again!

This home was nice. It was clean and looked just as listed online. The beds were cozy and everyone rested well.
The only area we saw that needs improvement is the driveway. We found parking to be a complex issue; especially when it rains, which was the case when we stayed. There was regular contact from the owners, making sure our stay was going well. Overall we enjoyed our time in Durham and at this residence.

Overall our stay was fine. The house was pretty much as pictured. Decor was minimal and basic.
Pros:
Close to interstate
Spacious
Clean minus a few bugs
Everything worked properly
Quiet neighborhood
Cons:
No futon in living room as displayed in picture
We were visited by a few roaches
Bathroom off kitchen has a very small shower, too small for a average adult to shower comfortably
Needs updated cookware, pots are worn and not enough to use if staying during the holidays and cooking a big holiday meal
Nail sticking out of floor in one of the bedrooms
No lights on back patio to enjoy it at night
Kitchen table too small for a 4 bedroom house, only seats 4 while house can hold 9 guests
Needs better driveway, hard to get in and out with multiple cars
Wood floors are very slick and have gaps which is a safety hazard. There are spaces where your high heels can get stuck and lead to you falling. I was very worried that someone would get a chunky splinter.
Water does not stay hot long enough for more than 2 people to take shower.
Towels racks need to be screwed in as they were loose.
Only one bed had a headboard
Very basic supplies, decor and furniture made the house feel less homey than other homes we have stayed in...felt like they chose the cheapest furniture without putting much thought

This is the coziest, cutest, house. It has 4 bedrooms, an open layout and plenty of space for everyone! While we are only in Durham once a year in August to drop off a family friend who attends Duke, it was much better than staying in a hotel. The decor is lovely, bedding soft, with good quality sheets and towels. There is a large flat screen TV in the living room, with roku, netflix, hulu and some other channels. But your in "Bull City," so you should be out and about, not watching TV. You can watch TV at home! The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, coffeemaker, percolator, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher. All appliances are high end. We made our own breakfast and then ate like wild Smoky Mountain hogs for lunch and dinner. There is a GE stackable washer and dryer in the unit. We participated in outdoor goat yoga and had 5 large beach towels that smelled like goats. The washer/dryer works great and is fast! The bathrooms have plenty of towels and washcloths for all guests, and one trend I am seeing in hotels and rentals are black washcloths for the face to remove makeup, which is such a nice personal touch. In the two bathrooms, there is liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner. The unit is spotless. Outside, is a fenced in rear backyard, with a small picnic bench and umbrella. At the front of the house is a covered porch, with a cozy seating area for your morning coffee and evening glass of wine. We sat out here a lot in the morning, and were greeted by neighbors with a kind wave. The neighborhood is super cute, safe, and the people are really friendly. Durham is a very diverse and ecclectic city, with all races and ethnicities living peacefully amongst each other, with mutual respect and kindness. Although everyone in our group lived up north, we loved that the most about Durham, and that love of others shined through in this wonderful neighborhood. We will definitely return to stay here again for any activities at Duke. The owners are great and responsive. We had no issues while we were here, although a follow up email was sent to us to see if we needed anything at all, which was such a nice touch. You won't be disappointed renting this lovely home.

Great house and location
Visiting family in Durham. The house was great, everything we needed was provided. Very clean and adorable decor. We usually stay in hotels but will be coming back to stay at this house.

Close to downtown Durham /Clean House
The house was immaculate and the owner was quick to respond when the cable went out. The area is not the best but we had no issues with anything while we were there. It was close to downtown as well as interstates heading to Raleigh. The main issue for us was the driveway. There is a small section of rocks and then it is grass . There is a tree stump that I did not realize was there and I drove over it and am thankful I did not tear up my rental car. Another guest got thier wheel hung up due to the stump too. I think the owners should spend the money to pave the driveway so this does not happen to other guests.
