Centrally located in the town of Girdwood at the base of Max's mountain on a quiet, dead end road. Local grocery store, restaurants/bars and ski slope within one mile of chalet. In this peaceful neighborhood, you will find the perfect base camp for your Alaskan adventure. The Hinterland Chalet is designed to provide you with a cozy stay in Girdwood with full kitchen and sleeping amenities. This timber frame chalet boasts beautiful redwood siding. Built by climbers in 1983, the recycled redwood came from Anchorage's original REI store. On the main floor, the kitchen and living area are surrounded by windows. The kitchen and bath have just been remodeled with new floors and counter tops. The floors are radiant heated for toasty toes no matter what the temperature outside. The bedroom on the main floor has a full sized bed and closet. The loft hosts a queen sized log frame bed where the moon shines bright on clear nights. This is the master bedroom of the house with a full closet. Up the ladder you can escape to the tree room for reading, relaxing, or gazing out through the forest. Complimentary coffee is provided for your enjoyment. The large deck with seating in front is perfect for relaxing after a hike, or, if you love a bonfire, warm up by the fire bowl. This is a great cabin in Girdwood. 1 bedroom downstairs and another loft room with an adorable sitting room on third floor. You felt like you were in the trees! Kathy the owner was wonderful to work with. She was available for every question we had. Our 9 year old daughter was in love with this cabin and the town! One of my favorite places I return to often! This cabin is a great place to make memories!

The hostess communicated all aspects well ahead of our arrival. The cabin itself was far more than we expected. Perfect location to Alyeska, and to all points east. Our next trip will definitely be staying there again!

I booked this cabin for my parent's vacation in Alaska. They said it was wonderful and super cozy and comfortable. They also said they were right up in the tree tops and had an amazing view of a mountain right from the cabin!

We enjoyed our stay at this property in Girdwood, adjacent to the Alyeska Resort. It was clean, comfortable and offered many amenities that helped make our stay wonderful. We would recommend this cabin to anyone who might want to stay in this area.

we spent few days in Girdwood chalet in lush green surrounding when not cruising sound in Whittier and heli flightseeing .It was pretty wet weather but so cozy and nice by the fireplace.Property is well stacked,everything works well and hosts were easy to communicate.Thank you and thumbs up!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely wooded cabin. Despite some rainy weather in Girdwood, this cabin with many large windows and a very cool treehouse felt like a cozy hideaway in the rainforest. We appreciated the laundry facilities and the well-furnished full kitchen. The location was also convenient to area restaurants.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and indeed are looking forward to staying for much longer the next time we do. The property has everything you could want or need. It’s situated among the trees with many windows such that you feel like you’re in a treehouse. We love the Alyeska/Girdwood area because there is good food close by and it’s a great launching point for so many wonderful adventures. Communication with host Cathy was super easy and she was so awesome to us I can’t even express how much we appreciate everything.

Easy checkin process, good communication on day one. Everything was as advertised. Girdwood is a perfect jump off point if you want to visit many area cities. There is a great brewery just down the road.

We had a wonderful stay at Kathy’s place. Checkin was a breeze. We had a few rainy/ chilly evenings & the gas stove kept the place nice and toasty! We wish the weather had allowed for us to use the outdoor fire pit seating area. We would definitely stay here again!

A wonderful experience staying at this charming cabin in Girdwood. Kathy was a super helpful and responsive host who really cared about making sure we were well attended to. The cabin is fabulous! Super clean, organized, well stocked, and a super convenient base camp for all our Alaskan adventures. Would absolutely stay here again, loved it!

Owners were very accommodating. The house is comfortable with all the amenities. Nice central location from both Seward and Anchorage. So convenient that there was a washer and dryer. Only wish we would have known there was another house on the property so close to this one.

Great host, amazing location and beautiful home. Very clean, had what we needed and place was just perfect!!! Will be returning to Girdwood in March of next year and will stay here again. If you stay here be mindful and keep the place clean.
