About this cabin rental

Located in Pigeon Forge, this attractive cabin for $324 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. At Having a Blast, up to 20 people can relish both the bucolic beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the luxurious amenities of a five-star hotel. The three-story log lodge, which looks out onto Bluff and Cove Mountains, includes five primary suites with private Jacuzzis and fireplaces, a home theater, a pool table, Netflix, free Wi-Fi and much more. Let’s start our tour of Having a Blast with the great room. Located on the wheelchair-accessible main floor, this space is large enough to accommodate three sofas. The double-height ceiling keeps the ambiance open and airy, while the fireplace makes the room especially inviting on brisk winter evenings. When you’re not gazing out the windows at the mountains, you can watch a movie on the flat-screen TV. The room includes a library of books and games, plus a mini hand-carved table and chairs where little ones can play. The dining area is spacious as well. Between the long table and the adjacent breakfast bar, the room seats a small crowd. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, cookware, tableware and plenty of granite counter space so that you can easily host a holiday feast. You can cook and dine outdoors as well. The main level’s rear deck is outfitted with a grill and picnic tables. The game room makes up much of the downstairs. When you’re not shooting pool at the billiard table, you can play cards at the poker table, challenge yourself at the sixty-game arcade or stretch out on the couch and listen to your favorite tunes on the satellite radio. Also downstairs is the home theater. Plush sofas ensure that your movie-watching experience is a comfortable one. The 73-inch HDTV with surround sound accommodates 3-D, so if you have 3-D movies and glasses, bring them along. The room also has a Blu-ray player, a library of movies and Netflix. There’s even a wet bar for making popcorn or storing drinks. The five primary suites are spread out among the three stories. Each bedroom includes a king-size bed with a hand-carved log frame, a stone-surround fireplace, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player and a VCR and a private bathroom. As if that weren’t luxurious enough, every en-suite bathroom boasts a jetted tub along with a shower and a large vanity with a granite counter and plenty of storage. One of the two suites on the main floor is wheelchair-friendly, with grip bars in the bathroom. The two suites on the top floor open directly onto the front balcony, with incredible views of Cove Mountain. In addition, three of the cabin’s sofas open into queen-size beds. Upstairs includes a sleeping loft with queen-size bunk beds that can accommodate four people. One advantage of sleeping here is that the loft includes an air hockey table. Another is that it opens onto the upper rear deck with rockers. These might be the best perches for admiring the star-studded night sky, except perhaps for the hot tub on the lower deck. Luxuriating among steamy bubbles while owls hoot and crickets chirp will soothe both body and soul. So will a steam shower in the sixth bathroom! You and your special someone can both sit among the twenty-four massaging jets of water while listening to the built-in radio. Talk about pampering! Given all these luxuries, you might want to spend your entire vacation in the cabin. But then you’d be missing out on the many nearby attractions. The waterfalls, wildlife and wildflowers of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are less than 20 minutes away, while the rides and shows of Dollywood are just 25 minutes from the cabin. Also close by are the Titanic Museum, WonderWorks, dinner theaters, shops, restaurants and more. One thing is for sure—when you stay at Having a Blast, you’ll, well, have a blast. So book your stay today, before someone else beats you to it!

I’ll be happy to edit this review if corrected. We rented this property so our large group of 18 could sleep comfortably in their own private areas as the description stated it could sleep up to 20 with 5 king bedrooms, 2 queen sleeping loft, and 3 sleeper sofas. Upon getting ready for bed the first night we discovered that the advertised “3 sleeper sofas” was not accurate. Only 1 of the sofas in the home was a pull out and the springs were coming out of it. Also, the queen over queen bunk bed in the sleeping loft did not seem sturdy enough to safely sleep an adult on the top bunk. So now we were down 4 beds we needed and were planning on utilizing for our guests which made finding other arrangements for the 3 night stay very difficult and dissatisfying. The king beds in the bedrooms slept fine but we’re VERY noisy. If you move at all it sounds like you’re laying on squeaky rubber ducks. Most power outlets in the bedrooms didn’t work so no use in turning those bedside lamps on at night. Also, the steam shower in the upstairs loft was not useable as it was missing the knob that turns it on so that was another amenity we were looking forward to using that we didn’t get to enjoy (along with the advertised air hockey table our younger family members were excited about that also was missing completely from the home). The thermostats were locked on 74° so be weary of that if you like it cooler in the hot days. Half of our crew were fine with it but the other half were uncomfortably warm for their stay. Also, upon doing dishes we discovered a full load of dirty dishes from previous tenants in the dish washer unwashed so that was a little troubling as well. The deck railings were loose/rotting in places so make sure to keep and eye on the little ones while outside. Also to note, the walls and ceilings are so paper thin you can be on the third floor and hear the full conversations of people on the ground level floor 2 stories down word for word like they are standing directly beside you. So if you like quiet time or privacy at all maybe this home isn’t for you. I would suggest the owners invest in some thick area rugs to help. Also, if you’re outside on the right side of the house you will definitely smell a foul sewage smell. All in all we liked the layout of the home and the location and it seemed clean enough (besides the dirty dishes) but the description needs major adjustments to accommodate for the wrong bedding/amenity/home features situation.

Lots of maintenance issues, like the back railing falling off. Nice place in a good location. Don't expect to cook, the pans are horrible.

Wowwwww!!!! What a great cabin! It has been 15 years since my mom has traveled anywhere other than the devil by non emergency transportation.. with god, we were able to take her on a vacation. Could not have been any better choice than 956 black bear cub way ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for such a phenomenal experience. We were able to have my mom my husband all 4 of my children and my grandchildren and was more than comfortable! Hands down, my best experience in all my years of travel! Again, thank you so much!

Very nice
Very nice
The cabin was very nice and spacious. Furniture needs to be replaced and there were only a couple wash clothes for 11 people but other than that it was great. Team was very responsive when we had an issue.

We had 3 families of 14 people total. Space and layout of cabin was very spacious. However, when we checked in, there were several areas that hadn’t been cleaned. I had to clean the toilet seat in our bathroom attached to our bedroom before I could even use it. LOTS of cobwebs in the windows, heavy dust on the light fixtures, VERY WORN couches in all rooms, a big piece of tile was missing from the middle of the kitchen floor so it hurt your foot every time you walked in the kitchen, my husband had to switch one of the hall bathrooms flush handles with one of the bedroom bathrooms bc it was broken, one of the dryers didn’t blow out hot air so the clothes wouldn’t dry, none of the remotes were in the right rooms for the tvs so most of them didn’t work…mainly the big one in the tv room so that was disappointing, a couple of the handles were loose and would barely turn the water off in the bathtubs, the big shower with all the jets in it couldn’t turn the temp down so they weren’t able to shower in there…and there was a significant amount mouse poop by the back couch by the window. It was on the end table, back of the couch and all over the floor in this area. My husband did call and give them this list, so hopefully they get some stuff fixed and cleaned around there soon. We still managed to have a great time together, but for the money we spent, and all the things wrong, it was definitely overpriced and quite disappointing.
