Situated in Dauphin Island, this attractive cottage for $150 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Enjoy this retro beach cottage on peaceful Dauphin Island, Al. This two bedroom cottage is located one block from the Gulf of Mexico beach on a connecting street with minimal traffic that provides easy access to the Gulf beaches. At the end of Raphael Semmes on the Gulf Side of the Island there is a public walkover that allows convenient access to the beach. There are beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi Sound from several rooms and the large deck and screened porch. The kitchen is fully equipped with a view of the water. There is ample seating including a large bar and dining table. The master bedroom has a Queen bed with a private bath with views of the Gulf and the lagoon. The second bedroom has a double bed and access to the second bath. The living room/kitchen overlooks the Mississippi Sound and the lagoon. The screened porch faces the West and offers a relaxing place to watch the sun set into the water. The concrete drive provides parking space for boats or an RV and there is covered parking under the house. There is a fish cleaning sink and outdoor shower under the house as well. This home is located on the North side of the West end of the Island in a residential area. The traffic is minimal and provides a great place for taking walks and bike rides. It is a short walk to the beach and there is a wagon under the house to transport chairs and ice chest to the beach. We loved staying there! It was in the perfect location and our dog loved being able to walk around the entire deck and watch the birds every afternoon! It was a quick walk to the beach and to the bay where my son and husband loved fishing. They caught some blue crabs. Since it was a football Saturday in the South lol we had to call the owners and ask a question about the TV and they were so nice and helpful. Overall, we could not have asked for a more accomidating and convenient stay.

Our time on the island was a much needed get away after battling cancer surgery, treatments and recovery last several months….always enjoy walking on the beaches.. Dennis and Kim’s place is a comfy home with short walk to beach … they were very helpful to accommodate our time and quick to communicate.. Thank you

This property was so comfortable and cozy and met every need we had, and then some. We sat on the swing under the house, ate dinner in the screened-in porch area, relaxed in the airy living room with the windows open and the beautiful breeze flowing through the whole house. It was such a relaxing experience that even my adult children said they wanted to come back to the house again. Our senior dog sunbathed on the enclosed deck for hours too! A truly wonderful experience!

Stayed at this location for 6 weeks. Definitely needs a lot of updating and some deep cleaning. Rug in the living area was covered with long dog hair. My husband tried to vacuum it up but the belt on the beater bar is broken. I ended up taking a rubber shoe and rubbing across the rug to roll up big fur balls. There is also mold and a loose shower head in one of the bathrooms. I felt like if I tried to adjust it, it would have fell off the wall. There are loads of towels & sheets which was nice. As for the outside the wrap around deck and doggy gates are great but in the 6 weeks we were there the grass and weeds were never cut once!

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holiday. The house was perfect for us and her dog and had everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive and attentive and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you!

I am a repeat renter for this house. I appreciate the kitchen supplies (pots, utensils, silverware, dishes and all the things). The home is spacious, has a nice screened porch, and a wrap around deck. It may not be the fanciest house on the block, but it is comfortable with plenty of space, and as an only parent, I appreciate the cost point. Everything the island has to offer is either an easy walk or short car ride.

This house is a perfect little get away! We enjoyed the views of the canals and could even see the gulf from the porch. Easy walk to the beach. Loved that the house was pet friendly and affordable. Very grateful! Neighborhood was quiet. Felt safe to walk our dog late at night. House was clean. Beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Comfortable, cozy cottage. The bedroom mattress with the queen is extremely soft and uncomfortable for my husband and I. The other bedroom has a double bed that is more firm and comfortable. The house is comfortable with nice lounging sofa and chair. Both bathrooms have mold in the caulking of the bathtub. Plenty of towels and linens which was a plus. There are ants in the house but we were able to keep them controlled by killing them as we spotted them. There was a great beach cart to carry our chairs and beach supplies. Outdoor shower was very nice after going to the beach. Some of the rails on the porch are not attached to the deck especially on the back door stairs. So we made sure to keep our kids away from those areas.

We enjoyed our stay, but we were very disappointed at how tall the grass was. It was at least knee high making it very difficult for our toddler and dog to run around. Everything else was absolutely perfect.

The location was perfect, the overall of the property is in need of clean up and the home it self needs updated shower and mattresses I do suggest you take your own beach chairs as the one listed are in very bad shape. We did enjoy sitting on the screen porch and could hear the ocean at night. We would differently go back if some of the updates mentioned were taken care of. The Island is very peaceful.
