River Rock Cottage is a smoke-free cottage located approximately 3 miles east of Ashland, Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Superior giving you one of the most beautiful views of Chequamegon Bay and the Apostle Islands. Keeping with our River Rock outdoor theme decor, this cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living room, dining room, fully-furnished kitchen, and outside grill. Two flat panel TVs with satellite for your entertainment. Free DSL/WiFi. For those who love to fish, we have great year ‘round fishing on Chequamegon Bay and Lake Superior, where we cater to both open water and ice fishing. The cabin also caters to duck hunters, deer hunters as well as being a great vacation place for the family to just relax and watch the sunset. We provide: Bedding & linens, towels, shampoo & conditioner, hair dryer, shower gel, hand soap & lotion – the same amenities as a hotel. In the kitchen we provide: Dishwasher, dish soap, napkins, paper towels, dishes, pots & pans, utensils, basically everything you have in your own kitchen. We even provide the salt & pepper. This place was perfect for our family group. There was plenty of room; there were 8 of us for many nights.
We were able to fish, cook meals, go for walks, make s'mores, etc... The location was great as we were able to hike at parks near by (Copper Falls, for ex.) and visit Bayfield.

My family totally enjoyed our time at the cabin. Our host was just a quick phone call away if we needed anything or had a question. The cabin was comfy, the yard big for grandkids to run, and the lake was beautiful. We could not think of anything that could be improved.

We chose this cabin mainly because it had the space for our whole family to stay and sleep while in Ashland for a family wedding. From the moment we walked in, we all agreed the cabin was even better than the pictures showed! The lake views were amazing and the fire pit/sauna room was perfect for still enjoying fires together on a few rainy nights … plus avoiding the mosquitoes! The cabin had plenty of room for us all to enjoy and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect for enjoying the whole Ashland/Bayfield/Apostle Islands area. Scott was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend! Thank you for everything!

We enjoyed this property! Gorgeous view of the bay. Clean and organized. Beds were very comfortable! We loved the remote location. I would love to return and enjoy the summer season. Owner was helpful and available.

Place was great. Scott and the river rock team were great as well. After long days trying to find fish on the ice, the sauna and outdoor fire were the perfect way to warm up and relax. Highly recommended!

Very Nice Cabin! Lots of room to accommodate large groups.
Big kitchen, big living room and enough beds to go around for everyone.
Had to trailer the snowmobiles to the nearby trail but wasn’t as inconvenient, as one might think. Very affordable and Highly recommend!

Six adults in their 70’s had a lovely stay at River Rock Cabin. We really enjoyed time around the fireplace in the sauna structure, the lake view/proximity, roominess of the cabin, and comfortable lounging chairs in the TV area. But for a house that can sleep 12 people (or our group of six adults from four families) we thought two bathrooms was too few.

Awesome house for six 65 yr old high school girlfriends from Minn to have a casual reunion. The beds were very comfy. We forgot coffee so it was nice to have coffee, filters & creamers there for us to use until we hit Walmart. Also appreciated all the dishware, wine glasses & abundance of ice. The whole setting was fabulous. We used the separate building with the firepit & sauna several times. The sauna was so clean, looked new. We saw deer, wild turkey & a fox. We all agreed we would love to come back with our own families.

Bridal Party
This property was perfect for housing the bridal party. Some of them were from out of state and were awestruck at the beauty of Lake Superior, the fresh air and abundance of stars. Perhaps all the things many living here just take for granted. Everything was clean, well maintained and exactly what we were hoping for. It was nice for the girls to go there to unwind and decompress during a busy wedding weekend. Thank you for sharing your property that came with breathtaking views and peace and quiet. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful place to relax!
We visited with our kids and friends. It was an absolutely amazing property! Plenty of space for us to spread out but also spend quality time. It was peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what we needed! Highly recommend this place, the indoor fire pit was amazing as we didn't have to worry about bugs! We will be back again!

The beds were comfortable, coffee/creamer much appreciated, and the separate building with sauna and fire place was darling. It's all just a few mins from downtown Ashland, and we enjoyed the twinkling lights of Washburn across the bay, plus beautiful view of the stars at night. Owner Scott was particularly attentive when we (mistakenly) thought we'd left something at the cabin and we really appreciated him checking for us. Would definitely stay again when we visit next.
