Situated on 100 feet of private waterfront, this one-of-a-kind authentic stone cottage will melt your heart. This sweet cottage is bursting with vintage charm, yet very clean, updated and comfortably furnished. Nearby, explore the quaint rural villages of Westport and Newboro where you’ll find unique shops, art galleries, restaurants & pubs, and even a winery with terrific outdoor dining. ABOUT THE COTTAGE: The combination of indoor and outdoor spaces provides plenty of room for togetherness while still allowing everyone in your group a place to retreat for some quiet time: GREAT ROOM: Open floor plan Kitchen, Dining area and Living room with gorgeous stone hearth and propane fireplace. BEDS & BATH: 3 private bedrooms comfortably sleeps6 (Queen, Queen, 2 Twin). 4-piece washroom has been recently updated. PATIO: Enjoy panoramic lake views and al fresco dining on a huge flagstone patio with built-in campfire pit SCREEN PORCH: The 10’ x 20’ screened-in porch is comfortably furnished as outdoor living space. Curl up with a book, play board games, do puzzles or craft projects, or just sip your favorite beverage and listen to the loons. WATERFRONT: Fixed deck with sitting area plus a large deep-water floating dock offers great swimming, fishing and room for boats. *Note that the cottage sits off the water (accessible by a set of steps). This offers fantastic panoramic views but may not be ideal for those with limited mobility. YARD: Huge yard with mature trees has plenty of space for yard games (croquet set provided, or bring your volleyball or badminton net). Parking area for up to 3 vehicles. WHAT ELSE YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS COTTAGE: • Only 3.5 hours from Toronto, 1.5 hours from Ottawa, 30 minutes north of Kingston and 10 minutes from the village of Westport • Very-well equipped: Gas stove/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blender and other small appliances, dishes, cutlery, pots & pans, Propane BBQ. TV/DVD player, High-speed WIFI reaches all areas including patio & waterfront. • There’s lots to do nearby. Local villages to explore, shopping, dining, golf, driving range, horseback riding, and Provincial parks for hiking. For insurance reasons we do not provide watercraft, however there are places nearby that rent everything from canoes & kayaks to fishing boats, bow riders, pontoons & jet skis. • We live by The Golden Rule: “Treat others as you would like to be treated.” The owners have been spending time at this cottage for 3 generations, so if anything needs attention during your stay or you'd like recommendations on local businesses and services, we're happy to help! • We are pet friendly (certain limitations and breed restrictions apply, $100 pet fee). • Non-smoking environment (smoking in non-covered areas only, please)

We had a week at Erika's cottage this fall and it was absolutely lovely. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, spacious, the location is stunning, and the screened in porch was an absolute added bonus. We were also really delighted we could bring our cat with us, and that the screened in porch was there so she could safely enjoy the location too :-) All of the instructions, access, setup, and process for the cottage was clear and easy. Erika makes the experience seamless for guests to enjoy their time away.

Cottage was amazing - very well maintained, "traditional" feel to it (original fittings, kitchen etc.). Front screened porch was our favourite place to relax, with an excellent view of the lake. New dock was a great place for morning coffee, and bbq on the side deck with a lake view was also a nice touch. Views from nearly all windows, including master bedroom. Host Erika was very helpful and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone for a cozy lake-side stay.

The cottage was nice a cozy, convenient to get to, around a beautiful area of Ontario and on a fantastic lake. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The property owner was very friendly and communicated everything that we needed to know for our arrival, stay and departure. The surroundings had beautiful fall colours everywhere, and the floating dock was a wonderful location to fish and to read a book. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Rideau lakes cottage
We arrived after a long drive, access was easy and the cottage had everything we needed. I very much appreciated being able to take my 2 dogs. 1 of our party saw a black bear on her way out early 1 morning. Stores and restaurants were very convenient and all in all we had a great week. Erika was super responsive when I reached out . Definitely would recommend

Well-stocked and organised
My husband and I spent the last few days of May, beginning of June at this lovely cottage. Beware if you have mobility issues as there are close to 40 steps down to the lakeside dock.
Erika has all the cupboards labeled, so no trouble locating kitchen supplies.
When we had rain days, there were tons of boards games to keep us busy. Even watched Nadal beat Djokovic at the French Open on cable TV!
Erika is a lovely host who will bend over backwards to help her guests.
Only drawback for me was housekeeping. It is lackadaisical, but I'm a clean freak., so not up to my usual standards.

The cottage was beautiful and comfortable. It had beauttiful view of the water. So much wildlife in the area! Deer, wild turkeys, grouse, ton of birds! A nice cottage for a family to stay at!

Big Rideau Lake Cottage
We had a lovely relaxing week. Took advantage of nearby Rideau Lakes Golf Course, Scheuermann Winery and the Tangled Garden Restaurant in Westport.
The cottage was very comfortable, swimming was great and the location very easy to get to. Everything we were looking for!

Relaxing, cozy stay
Our family really enjoyed our stay here. Cottage is well appointed, and the outdoor set up is great. We brought our paddle boards so made full use of the dock and access to water. There is also a wonderful fire ring outside- we made lots of s’mores. Nice and quiet and beds were comfortable so all slept well. Family friendly hiking nearby at Foley Mountain.

The location is peaceful. The views are spectacular. To truly appreciate the location, get out on the lake. Enjoy the deck, the dock, kayaking to see the loons, and swim. All meals on the patio, the sunrise morning coffee time and walks down the lane. The Foley Mt. hike and dinner at the Cove Inn were great!

Terrific Cottage on the Water
Thanks for the stay! Great firepit, fans in all the rooms, comfy couch and large table to entertain extended family for meals. Family with kids may want to rent kayaks, or pick up floaties to enjoy the water. Careful of the barnacles/mussels clustered in the shallow waters!

We were pleased with the cottage. Location was great, watching boats on the lake, fishing and swimming in the water. Loved the screened porch, we would spend our days there.

Great place to unwind
Had fun disconnecting from the day-to-day day even for just a little while. Perfect spot by the water. Nice property. We all loved the screened-in porch and the great fire pit. My teenaged daughters loved the dock for sunbathing, swimming and fishing. Loads of fish in the lake. Everything was exactly as advertised.

Paradise on the Rideau
Amazing week. I couldn't have dialled it in any better. Fantastic location. Easy commute from Ottawa. Cozy cottage with the most beautiful screened-in porch. Excellent swimming off of the dock. (Massive two tier dock.) Fire flies, loons, morning doves, deer. Awesome fire pit. I'm Canadian and I can say this was the most awesome Canadian summer vacation I've ever experienced. Great Week Away
Right from the start Erika was very responsive to any questions and her information package was very detailed and accurate. Cottage comes exactly as advertised and fully equipped. We had a great time, very peaceful & scenic and we spotted a wide variety of wildlife. At dusk we usually only heard the call of the loons. Excellent fishing from the dock. Overall a fantastic week away and we definitely want to come back.

We had a wonderful week at the cottage. It is a beautiful property with a great waterfront for swimming, nighttime fires and dinners with a view. My boyfriend proposed to me at sunset on our second last night. I SAID Yes! Will forever have a special place in my heart. Thanks Erica.

Charming & quaint cottage
The views at this lovely cottage are amazing. The cottage is well appointed and cozy. The upper deck is enticing and well situated. The stairs down to the lake are wide, well placed and easy to traverse. There is a large platform (new).& dock at the waterfront. Lots of room for sunning, fishing off the dock, just hanging out.
The overall cottage & property are extremely well maintained, charming and exactly as demonstrated in the pictures in advertisement online.
Great overall experience. We will definitely go back.
Proximity to amenities in Newboro & Westport excellent. Westport is a great little town to visit with great shops & restaurants. Lots to do in the area. Road into this property is well maintained.

Great location! peaceful, quiet and well situated between Newboro and Westport. Well stocked and clean. Oven is crusted with grease and looks unsafe to use. Frying pans pitted, scratched and unusable. Front steps of naturel stone but uneven and tricky to use. No hand rails for the 30 steep steps down to the dock. The fact that the steps to the dock are so steep and hard to maneuver are not mentioned in the VRBO web site. This cottage, in general, is not user friendly for seniors. Also suggest that railings be installed on the patio as it is most unsafe for small children. Fireplace needs to be repaired as it was unuseable.

Wonderful visit, wish we could have stayed longer!
This was the perfect location to travel around the area, relax, hike, and enjoy everything around us. Erika is so responsive and helped prepare us well by answering our questions and sending us plenty of information. We loved the cottage, the views, and the quiet, remote feeling while being close to so many things. It was a great vacation, and we would recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful stone cottage getaway
Beautiful house and property on a lovely lake. Most of the conveniences of home. Loved the view....the screened in porch for evening....we lucked out with weather so were able to be outdoors a lot. There are canoe/kayak and boat rentals available.

Fabulous Cottage Experience
Our family has come to this vacation spot for 4 years now, and every year it just gets better. It is a lovely setting with the amenities needed but rustic enough to be a cottage experience. The only drawbacks are a lack of washing facilities and the need to provide your own potable water. We love the dock and enjoy the bird life. We are a family of 6 adults and 2 small children, so accommodations are very tight but we adapted by supplying our own two cots for the screened in porch.

The cottage accommodations are complete, comfortable and tastefully chosen. The firepit, back deck, screened porch, and dock were hits with every member of the family. The comfortable beds and perfect kitchen rounded out the perfect experience. Hope to return next year.

This cottage was picture perfect. Everything exactly as I would want it
A bright and very spacious cottage. It had large bedrooms, an open concept kitchen/living area with lots of seating, adorable screened in porch, large dining table and a fabulous sunny stone porch over looking the lake. The furniture was extremely comfortable.
We swam, walked the lovely road, saw deer and her fawn twice and enjoyed touring the area. The Cove in Westport offered a great rib night with Open Mike - a real all ages good time.
I would highly recommend this fabulous cottage

Quiet cottage on lake.
Perfect place to spend the week. A touch of old with a dash of new, this cottage has it all. It is located on one of the quietest lakes we've ever been to. The owner replies quickly and was great to deal with. We would love to come back. While you stay be sure to check out the cute village a few minutes away.
