About this house rental
Located in Placencia, this charming house for $183 per night is a great option for your next trip. Sunset Pointe 1 BR, 2BA Garden Apartment We understand your families health and well being is very important. The Pointe House apartment is in a private single family residence. We, the owners, are not on the property when the apartment is rented so you would be the only ones in the building. Of course, we have a caretaker that lives on site if you should need anything. We do share the pool, 2 docks, and 3 rooftop viewing decks with 12 other units but since we are a small property these areas are never crowded. On first floor of private residence in Placencia Village, Belize surrounded by water on three sides. For the couple who wants total privacy, yet just a five minute walk into the village. Covered private porches that look onto a lovely garden, tropical mangroves, and the Caribbean Sea. Furnished in Belize tropical rattan, beautiful local artwork, and all full size, stainless steel appliances plus washer and dryer. Our local guide will pick you up onsite for offshore trips to reef and island hopping or land adventures to Mayan ruins, caves, ziplining, waterfalls, horseback riding, or hiking the Jaguar Cockscomb Preserve. Janis was great. There were some issues with the property, (not her fault), which she resolved by upgrading us to a bigger, better space and giving us a two night refund for our trouble.
I wish there were ladders at the dock so we could swim near the house.

We have stayed at Sunset Pointe several times. We love the pier with palapa with the great sea breeze for afternoon naps. The pool is perfect for cooling off after a day shopping or snorkeling or a late night swim. The staff is always available to answer any questions. Bicycles are great for the short ride to eat out if you don't have a rental car. I'm sure we will be back again.

It was nicer and larger we felt than the photos indicated we felt. Spotlessly clean, great AC, Safe. Quiet. Lovely view of the expansive tropic gardens off the beautiful decks. 7 minutes on a bike into the center of town.

Beautiful guest house at Sunset Pointe! This property had all the comforts of home and a million dollar view. On our arrival the caretakers had placed flowers in every room. We appreciated the extra touches. Everyone was friendly, accomodating, and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Sunset Pointe.

The property is stunning and tranquil. The grounds and gardens are maintained to a high standard. Interior of the apartment is filled with beautiful local art and spotless. Kitchen is fully equipped to prepare full meals. Janis is quick to respond to any questions prior to arrival. Francisco & family are available on property if you need anything. Sunset Point is located a short walk or quick golf cart ride from the village. (Where all the action is, but still a very laid back feel) Already planning our next trip!

Janis, the Owner, is excellent. We emailed back and forth a lot with info. and she was very helpful. Going there, our flight was cancelled so we arrived a day late but I let her know as soon as it happened and she let the caretaker, Francisco know too so all was well. The house is clean and in a beautiful spot. It is in walking distance to town but it's just far enough away, and on a dirt muddy road that 2, 3 times a day - with groceries would be a lot but they have bikes so we thought we would just take those all the time. We decided to use the bikes the first day. The tires were flat so we filled them up before we left and had to walk them home as they were flat again in no time, ended up renting a golf cart for the week. We also were excited to kayak as we live in Colorado and love kayaking the lakes here.
There, you have the ocean and a fabulous canal to paddle down but Francisco informed us one of the kayaks had a leak so if we took them out we needed to stay close to shore so if we started to sink - we could get out safely... not sure about the kayak so we decided to skip that. The hot tub was broken and we couldn't find the grill - we found a bbq pit area but not a grill so we couldn't cook the lobster and crab we got. So, again, the place was charming, quiet, peaceful and everyone was very friendly but for us - people who don't sit around much and really rented it for the amenities listed above, it was kind of a bummer.

We really enjoyed the quality and cleanliness of the property. The staff on site were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. If you go you have to ask for Alfred Willams, he is absolutely amazing as a tour guide! The owners Janis & Eric did an amazing job with the building and location of this paradise retreat!

Great except mattress. When you stay at a nice property and spend a 1/3 of your vacation time in bed, I would expect a good mattress. The mattress was worn out with visible dips and very uncomfortable on my back. Other than this the property was amazing.

Great location with a private garden
We had a wonderful three week stay here. The house is in a perfect location on the point - a quick walk into the village but it still feels secluded. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the private garden. The caretaker, Francisco, was always helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed. We highly recommend a stay here!

Great stay! Great location
Had a great stay everyone were very nice Janis was very helpful with arranging a ride from the airport to the house. Francisco was right there to show me around and get settled! Highly recommended.

The location is perfect with the village being a short walk away. I enjoyed the flexibility to be able to cook some meals at home using the nice kitchen, while also being able to easily go explore some of the great restaurants in the village.
I spent most of my time scuba diving on this trip, and diving with Splash Dive Center was absolutely wonderful and they offered complimentary pickup and drop-off at Pointe House. Really convenient!
I would also recommend renting a golf cart for a day or two in order to have a little more range to explore the island. Captain Jaks has nicely maintained golf carts for a reasonable price and it wasn't too far of a walk from the Pointe House property.
I will stay here again the next time I am in Placencia.

Absolutely Perfect
It was mixed emotions of how thrilled I was to find this place, but how sad I was that I hadn’t found it 13 years ago! I come to Placencia annually and this property is by far the best place I’ve stayed at here. Beautiful home with the private beach surrounding your patios, a secluded pool, outstanding property managers, and perfect location. The bikes and kayaks were fantastic for getting around the village. Will definitely be back here!

We loved our 4 day stay at Sunset Pointe house apartment! The location is quiet and peaceful. The apartment is lovely with everything you need to have a home away from home. We loved hanging out on the dock at sunset. The kayaks were fun for exploring the area. It was a perfect spot for a relaxing time!

Perfect Stay in Placencia
We enjoyed our stay in Placencia. The location was very convenient and the unit was very clean. We had breakfast outside on the porch watching the birds and the boats.

Feel like a local with the best location. We were so impressed with property. Everything you could need. Used kayaks and bikes, but remting golf cart was great for grocery getting and dark night travel. Thanks for list of good places to go. We loved it!

Always Amazing!
Best location in all of Placencia to stay. Easy to dun to town for dining, grabbing groceries or shopping the shops. We pick up fresh fish from the local fishermen down by the pier and enjoy cooking at the condo. Several of the restaurants are closed during slow season (Sept and Oct). But we enjoy having access to fresh fish.
Great referrals for guides to take you fishing. Our kids went fly fishing and had a really good time with Dan Castellanos. We have tried other places and regretted it. We will always stay at Sunset Pointe.
