About this house rental
Just 2 miles from Squaw Valley Ski Resort.
Over the bridge and down the river from Squaw Valley is a beautiful example of an 'old style' Truckee River home, located at river's edge. Go to sleep to the sound of the river and awaken to start your hike, bike or run from right outside your door. From the kitchen and dinning rooms, one gazes up the river canyon, scouting river activity. The deck and hot tub are perched above the river. Imagine soaking under the stars while listening to the sounds of the raging water? The living room is large, perfect for a gathering around a wood stove. There are two cozy master suites downstairs one with a king size bed, the other with a queen, three charming bedrooms upstairs with flexible bedding arrangements and three and a half bathrooms. The neighborhood is private and quiet. Perfect for long walks in the woods. 'The River House' is a unique mountain experience!
The generous farmhouse kitchen has a cozy breakfast nook, skylights, wood floors and an adjoining formal dining room overlooking the river, perfect for casual family style dinners or elegant affairs. There's a private washer/dryer accessible through a covered walkway.
Parking for 5 cars, including the attached carport. Oh, and the fly fishing is outstanding...but don't tell anyone :)

We had a wonderful stay at this house! It’s incredibly spacious and perfect for relaxing. The kitchen is fully stocked, which is ideal if you enjoy cooking. One of the highlights was falling asleep to the peaceful sounds of the river—so calming.The hot tub was very clean, roomy, and a great way to unwind after a day out. The location is also super convenient, with easy access to Palisades Ski Area and the nearby lake Tahoe and quick trip to Reno airport.We highly recommend this place and would absolutely love to come back, especially in the summer!

The inside was decent, not clean to my liking, but it was OK. However, outside of the one door to get to the carport is covered in rat poop! It is all over the walkway, and the doormat is covered in it. To the point where my grandkids coming in and out, we’re getting in the house, very disgusting!
There was a technical issue as far as VRBO went with not sending me actual notifications when the owner messaged me, but instead of the owner calling on the landline or calling my cell phone or simply walking over from where they live, he chose to leave me a nasty comment, as well as tell me he was getting in touch with Vrbo Over a different technical issue or misunderstanding.
In the other item is whoever I was dealing with for this property had absolutely no personality. They did not send a nice thank you for renting the property when I first rented it they were very to the point with no personality at all. I will definitely keep this in mind. The next time I go to rent a place on VRBO as far as how the owner of the property responds to my request to rent.
