Nestled in Badin Lake, this attractive house for $247 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This cozy lake retreat 3BR 2BA with a loft lakefront home has awesome views of the lake! With the Uwharrie National Forest right around the cove. Located approximately 1 hour from Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem and High Point. This slice of heaven is just perfect for a family vacation, anniversary, friends' getaway or fishing retreat. You name it and you will enjoy your time here. Master with a King bed, 2nd bedroom with a queen bed, 3rd bedroom with two twin beds and an upstairs loft/play area. A large lake view front porch with ceiling fans, rocking chairs and a swing. We love our animals too but have a NO PETS policy. The lake is just steps away from the front porch. A dock and steps leading into the water are convenient for taking a cool dip. Bring your boat or jet ski and enjoy fishing and the serenity of the lake's 115 miles of shoreline. The dock has room for a boat or jet ski to tie up and access to deep water. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, , utilities, gas grill for outdoor cooking, outdoor tables and chairs, and wifi. Two kayaks and one paddle board are available (with life jackets) to enjoy exploring the lake or fishing for dinner. Park your automobile in our covered carport area with room for more parking on our paved cement driveway. Fish from the dock, bask in the sun, relax... Spend the day boating, swimming, fishing, or simply relaxing on the pier with the sound of the water soothing your stress away. For those seeking more adventure... hike or bike the Uwharrie National Forest across the lake (accessed a few miles away by car). Pontoon boat rentals may be available from FishTales Marina or Ole North State Marina. Within 30 minutes... North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro; Seagrove, NC-Pottery Capital of North Carolina and Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury. Golf at nearby courses or 40 minutes away at Pinehurst, visit the museum of Nascar’s legend, Richard Petty; or take a caution lap around the track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway. Take in a new release movie at the Drive In Theater 1/2 hour away in Albemarle or a zip line ride in Asheboro. Scenic lakefront location. Nicely furnished. Comfortable beds. Fully-stocked, if not over-stocked, assortment of kitchen needs. Wine cork, but no wine glasses. Only large insulated cups. The tub in the main bathroom was extremely slow to drain. Shades, blinds, curtains, etc. on the large, west-facing glass doors would have helped block the glaring afternoon sun, as well as provided privacy in the master and twin-bed bedrooms. We overcame the "issues" and enjoyed the weekend.

The best thing about this house was the back porch, which is right on the water. It was a great spot for reading, playing games, catching up and dining. We also really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The community feels very cozy and welcoming. The house is decorated nicely and has great views of the lake from the inside. It's also a really easy drive from Charlotte (where we are from).
A few things informational things to note for potential renters that are not bad, but will hopefully just be helpful. There isn't a whole lot to do outside of the lake. There are plenty of dollar stores, a Food lion, gas stations, and mom and pop restaurants nearby - which is really nice. There is also a decent winery about 20 mins away and a place to hike (if you want a 5-6 mile hike), but that's about it. The house feels like the owners left seconds before you arrived. It's very lived in. Not in a dirty kind of way, but in a "this house is well loved and often visited by the owners" kind of way. I think for some renters, this makes it very home-y and cozy. For us, it was a bit uncomfortable to have their toothbrushes still there, bathing suits hanging up, and random things all around the house. Last, if you are a morning person, you will love the master bedroom. If you are not, you may wake up grouchy when the sun hits your face at an early hour. There are no curtains or blinds so you will appreciate the view, but may not appreciate the openness to outside viewers, including the sun.

Clean , plenty of out door space. Love the dock and deck. Sunset is always visible from this cottage. Big cats right from dock. Kayaking, swimming. Can't wait to come back. And Tammy was always a text away

The location of the lakefront property is excellent!
The outside of the property is the perfect setup for fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating, and enjoying the lakeside environment for all ages!
The host Tammy was very helpful, and the check-in process was very easy! Tammy gave us some special considerations to make our stay a little less stressful.
The main suggestions for the owner would be to deep clean the house, and to take personal items out of the house so the renters will have enough space for their items.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage.

Let me say I've been visiting Badin Lake twice a year staying at different rental properties for over 5 years. Stars and the lake are amazing. This review is only stating the facts. I'm not bashing anyone.
I contacted the owner 1 week before arrival to see if there was a "key" code for entry. I've usually stayed at places with a drop box which gives you a physical key. This rental has an electronic entry lock. I emailed the owner and was given a code. My check in time was 3pm. I arrived at 2pm and tried the code. It didn't work. I usually arrive a bit early to make sure I can get in, then I go to Food Lion for groceries and by that time it's check in time. Since the code did not work, I went to Food Lion because that is the only area where I get cell service. I called the owner and got "Voicemail full. Goodbye".. I sent a text to the owner saying the code did not work. The owner called me back and said the code was changed and told me their cleaning service wasn't available and that they had to clean the house themselves it would take them 45 minutes to get there. I waited until 4pm when the owner said the house was ready. I put in the code and the door unlocked. The owner texted me saying she was sorry and that I could check out at 3pm instead of 10am The rest was really nice. Fished, looked at the stars etc...
Then it happened. I went to Food Lion, hit the "Lock" icon and got groceries. Got back, entered the code and it didn't open. My cell phone was charging on the kitchen counter. I had no way to contact the owner. I was locked out. Luckily I left 1 door on the deck unlocked and got back in. I left the property 1 day early (After I packed the car I went and tried the code again- did not open.) and when I contacted the owner about the wireless door lock code the reply was "weird it worked when you checked in. did you remember to turn the heat down to 55 before you left?"... I sent a second e mail to the owner again asking about the wireless lock not working. the response was did you turn the heat down to 55 before you left?
As I said, these are the facts. Live and learn.

We needed a place to stay for the week we were technically "homeless" and in between selling-buying a house. This home was available and what a great way to spend the week. The home is in a perfect location and has all the amenities of home. The hostess was so gracious and welcoming. I highly recommend and thank you Tammy!

If you enjoy fishing, this lake might not be the place for you, after fishing with multiple lures and multiple locations and times of day, only 4 sunfish and 1 catfish were caught over a 5 day period. Frustrating. But the kayaking, swimming, boating (we brought a Jon Boat and the boat ramp was just down the road) and relaxing were great. The place is set up nicely for 6 adults and a couple of kids (the loft is set up for kids, but for toddlers is none too safe) with plenty of space.
Overall a good vacation spot..

So relaxing! My husband went fishing every day, he was able to keep his boat in the hoist at the house. When I wasn’t with him in the boat, I really enjoyed just spending time sitting on the back deck. We’ll be back!

This was a perfect and safe place for us to be with our family during Covid. The house was right on the lake which allowed us to be able to fish, kayak and have beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Perfect kitchen for Thanksgiving dinner.

This was a cozy lakehouse with a comfy porch and beautiful views of the lake. The lake was gorgeous and very quiet and peaceful especially on weekdays. It felt much more like staying in someone’s house than a rental as there were a fair amount of personal possessions (reading glasses, food, etc) left in the house. Kayaks, SUP, grills, fishing poles, outside shower, and a high quality speaker all added to a nice fun stay.
The owner did a good job of staying in touch and responding to questions.
We were a little uneasy upon check in as there are no pictures of the front of the house included in the VRBO listing so we were nervous we were not in the right place.
This is a great place if you want to unplug and enjoy the lake; however, I recommend bringing a map as we had absolutely no cell service and spent Some time driving around in circles looking for groceries.

We wanted a place out of the way to quarantine and this was a great one! You had plenty of space and privacy. The lake is beautiful and warm. Jumping off the dock was the most fun. The kayaks and paddle boards there were such a great bonus. There were fishing poles and floats and life jackets to use. We had so much fun in the water. There were two grills (one propane tank) that made cooking easy. Friendly neighbors. Super quiet during the week and fun boats and jet skis to watch on the weekends. The house wasn’t your normal rental house in there wasn’t a folder or anything with info, check in/check out procedures, rules. We just weren’t used to it as we rented lots of houses. Could be a sign of an easy going owner. The house had plenty of space for us. The beds were comfortable. Direct TV with lots of channels for nights when you’re finally ready to go inside. The only setbacks were-the house could use a deep cleaning. The owner or previous guests had lots of things out like used towels, water bottles, sunglasses, clothes. There isn’t much space to put your things away bc they’re full of items already. We had to put all of our food on the counter bc the cubboards were full. Lots of food in the freezer and fridge we had to work around. Almost no curtains which left us without privacy or blocking the sunlight. None on the bedrooms and even the bathroom just had a sheer one. The washing machine and master tv were broken. The owner said they had someone try to fix the washing machine but it wasn’t fixed in time. That was difficult bc we really could have washed towels while we were there. Overall we had a great time and would stay here again and I have recommended the property to many friends. The setbacks listed are just suggestions for the future.

Myself and another family needed a place on short notice to stay while Hurricane Dorian was coming up the cost. Owner was accommodating and location was great not to much boat traffic so the kids good swim in the lake. Was a great stay would stay again.
