About this house rental
Situated in Brevard, this lovely house for $162 per night is a great option for your next trip. Welcome to "DOWNTOWN RETREAT" Enjoy all that Brevard and surrounding areas have to offer from our wonderful location. No need to drive to the restaurants, shops, library, churches or Franklin Park as they're all within walking distance . "Downtown Retreat" is a lovely 1950's ranch that has been totally remodeled. Enjoy the open floor plan with comfortable furnishings throughout. The large deck in back has a gas grill and furniture for enjoying outdoor dining . The screened in porch overlooks a large private back yard where you can enjoy the white squirrels and birds or just relax with your feet up. Pets are not accepted and house is non smoking . "Downtown Retreat" has 2 large bedrooms, each with private baths. The master bedroom has a queen bed, a large private closet, a flat screen tv and a double shower with sliding doors. A second bedroom that has 2 twin beds and a bath with both tub and shower combination. (A third bedroom with queen bed is available at an additional cost with owner approval. The kitchen is fully furnished with stainless appliances and lots of cooking equipment for the chef. It joins a small breakfast area. One can sit and watch the morning news or just push back in a recliner and enjoy the breeze coming from the open french doors that join the screened in porch. Enjoy all that Brevard and surrounding areas have to offer from our wonderful location. No need to drive to the restaurants, shops, library, churches or Silvermont and Franklin Park as they're all within walking distance . Saturday's Tailgate Market where you can purchase local produce, a variety of baked goods and regional crafts along with meat and eggs is only a few steps away. There are also some wonderful coffee shops and bakeries close by. Enjoy Brevard's small town charm and meet some of its friendly people . Stay while and enjoy a variety of music each Saturday morning starting at 8am. Brevard Music Center with it's wonderful summer programs is only 2 miles away and Brevard College is within walking distance. This area is known as the Land of the Waterfalls with great hiking trails in Dupont State Forest, Gorges State Park and Pisgah National Forest. There are many outdoor activities close by for children and adults. The Cradle of Forestry and the Fish Hatchery are among the many favorites for kids. Trout fishing in the local streams and mountain biking also are available.

Great location, great communication, lots of space, dated, but clean. Kitchen had everything needed. Small TV screens, Dish satellite didn’t offer good choice channel options.
Beautiful backyard. Manager even left us home grown tomatoes from her garden!

My family just had a wonderful stay in this house. The house had everything we needed and the location is excellent. We had some rainy days which made me really appreciate having a comfortable, cozy house that was close to everything when the rain stopped. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Jan's house since it was walkable to downtown Brevard. That was important to me as I was a vendor at the White Squirrel Festival. The house was also across from a wooded area where I spotted my first and only white squirrel!
The house is very spacious which we enjoyed. No problems with anything at all. We recommend staying here!

The house was immaculate, the owner has taken a lot of steps to make guests comfortable. From amenities provided to the comfortable furnishings. She also gave us tips to attract the well known “Brevard White Squirrels “ to the back yard. Also beautiful birds were abundant. We’ll be back.

I would like to keep this place a secret! My wife and I stayed here and its so close to downtown we could walk everywhere and its centrally located in some of the best hikes and waterfalls in the area. The owners were very attentive and responsive. It was immaculately clean. The only thing I could add is "shhhhhh - don't tell anyone, I want it to be my spot!"

Wonderful house with excellent location!
What a gem only a short walk to downtown and a short drive to great hiking. Communication was excellent throughout and if anything the pictures do not do the house justice. Only wish that we had been able to stay longer! Will definitely visit again.

Cozy Home
This was my second stay at Jan Lees vrbo. This home is in an excellent location, and incredibly clean. The house is comfortable and has everything you need for a visit to Brevard. Jan is always quick to answer any questions, and on hand if there is an emergency (locked myself out :( ). Wonderful stay as usual.

Nice Stay!
Great location, plenty of space, and a screened-in porch too. Not too far a drive to lovely hikes to waterfalls. There's a cool toy store downtown our kids loved and Dolly's ice cream by Pisgah is wonderful.

What a fantastic gem of a find! This lovely home was perfect for our stay. Located half a block off of main street we could walk to all the restaurants and shopping. Pisgah National Forest was a 10 minute. The house is beautifully furnished and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch and deck and spotted a white squirrel and deer. The owner Jan was a great communicator. We loved our stay and hated to leave. As soon as we returned home we booked another stay for the fall. Thank you Jan for everything.

The location is wonderful. Quiet neighborhood yet great walking distance to downtown. Saturday farmers market is just a few steps out the door!
The home was one of the cleanest VRBO's I've ever stayed at. Furniture is clean and new, comfortable beds. Great backyard to sit and watch the birds and bunnies with a cup of coffee.
Jan Lee went above and beyond to welcome us, even checking in after a very long drive back to New York.
Looking forward to returning, will definitely rent this home again.

This home is truly special. Spacious layout, yet feels cozy. Both bedrooms are large and have private bathrooms. We enjoyed the deck and the pretty backyard. Location is wonderful. Just a short walk to downtown Brevard. Home does need some TLC--fresh paint, a deep cleaning (including the furniture), and operational blinds throughout. The two chairs in the den should be replaced. The cushions are shot. With these improvements, we would absolutely rate the house 5 stars.

Great Brevard in-town location
We had a wonderful two weeks at this house. It was an easy two block walk to downtown Brevard and to two parks if you have children. The owner, Jan, was very helpful and easy to work with. The house has great living areas and the kitchen is expansive and well stocked with good cooking utensils. We enjoyed the screened porch and deck overlooking the large back yard. We will definitely stay here again.
