We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was a great home base to visit The Biltmore, The Grove Park Inn, and we also did a downtown Asheville food tour. Downtown Black Mountain is quaint with places to shop and delicious places to eat which are within walking distance from the cottage!

This cottage was just right for a mother daughter weekend. It was very clean, had comfortable beds, and every detail was considered! It was also a very convenient location. We would absolutely stay there again next time we visit Black Mountain.

This cottage made for an excellent place to live and relax in while we spent the week on vacation. The owner, Shirley, was super nice and accommodating. If you're new or old to the area of Black Mountain or Asheville, this is definitely the cottage to enjoy your surroundings in.

Country Girl was the perfect little getaway and Shirley was a wonderful hostess. The cottage is adorable and very comfortable. Every little detail was thought of. The garden and firepit were especially nice to enjoy in the morning with a cup of coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine. I felt very much at home thanks to Shirley and her friends. They welcomed me happily and warmly to Black Mountain!

The very accurate property description was exactly what we wanted: well-appointed with comfortable furniture and modern appliances, a lovely sitting porch and an easy walk to terrific downtown (no chain) restaurants. The cottage was in a terrific flower garden with entertaining bird feeding. The host was wonderfully friendly and helpful.

This is what non-hotel vacation is all about. All places should be like this. Great host, location, ambiance and relaxation. Quite frankly, adding more words is just a distraction. If in the Black Mountain area and traveling as a couple (as we were), this is the place.

The "Country Girl Cottage" was the cutest little house with beautiful gardens and many bird feeders which brought birds to enjoy. The house was very clean. It was walking distance to downtown Black Mountain with many great restaurants and great little shops. We would highly recommend a stay at this cottage.

Shirley is very accommodating. We arrived to a warm and lit up property. Unfortunately, it has not been cleaned - microwave had food remains, stove top was sticky, bedroom trash can was full with qtips with make up and used make up wipes. In the middle of the night I reached out to get my phone to check the time, the glass on the side table was unclean. I was not happy! My husband had to uncluttered the bathtub drain. I had to clean the place up to try to enjoy our stay. The place is advertised yo sleep 4people… be aware that both beds are in one room, on the upstairs loft. No doors. There were positives too: lovely garden, outside porch where you can have breakfast. Plenty of towels. Shirley has a laundry machine you can use. The cottage is quiet. We walked into town a few times - Trailhead was great, good food and beer. The White Horse had nice set up for music in the evenings. Good ice cream shop in town. Pisgah Forest and waterfalls are gorgeous. Chimney Rock is worth to explore. In the summer, I bet, the Sliding Rock can be fun! A lot of beauty!

Oh My! We absolutely loved our stay in Black Moutain at the Country Girl Cottage. Shirley was a fabulous host and we loved her spirt. We have already told friends that they must book a stay here. We will be back!!!

Beautiful cottage with short walk to downtown Black Mountain. Never met property manager but knew she was around if needed. One reserved parking space available in front of home. Anything you might need is provided including coffee pods and tea. Lots of clean towels! Pictures online represent the property very well. We were there in winter, but I'm sure in spring it's amazing! Note: -Bathroom is downstairs from sleeping area as shown, which works for shorter stays. Our stay was 5 nights - and after several days of hiking - it became harder to go up and down! -Cottage is behind the house, so you go through 3 small gates and down a flagstone path to reach it. It rained for 3 days while we were there, so this made it rather difficult with our rolling luggage. The owner has a beautiful yard, so nothing to change here - just be aware if the weather is not cooperating! -Washer/Dryer are listed, but we did not see them within the cottage. We did not need them, so did not ask where they were located.

This is by far the most beautiful adorable immaculate cottage set in a gorgeous pretty garden!! Shirley is so lovely with a heart of gold and her precious pup Sugar! It’s immaculately clean and so homely. We extended our stay and will definitely be returning !!!

This is one of those VRBO stays where I see over a hundred consistent five-star reviews, set my high expectations high, and still leave completely impressed. How did I not notice from the listing photos that there are chandeliers hanging from the ceiling of this cottage? It was such a treat to be able to walk from the cottage and back to grab a quick bite for dinner from one of the downtown restaurants. I only wish we had stayed longer! (Well, also I wish we just plain lived there) The interior is tastefully charming, the outside garden is beautiful and the location is utterly ideal. Though I didn't message the host directly much (there was no need, as everything was set up perfectly ahead of time!), I will say that she left me my favorite check-out message on VRBO so far. :)

At the beginning, it was a bit complicated to find the entrance; we looked for about 10 minutes. But overall, the place was beautiful. The garden was stunning. We saw so many animals near by and it was a peaceful rest. Owner was sweet and everything listed was included in our stay. Thanks for making this an amazing experience!

Super clean space in a private garden. Very convenient for walking to shopping and restaurants without the hassle of finding a parking spot. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch listening to the birds and enjoying the perfectly manicured landscape and garden.

We wanted a peaceful and private place to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. The Country Girl Cottage was so much more than expected! Too many little surprises to mention.
