About this house rental
Nestled in Michigan City, this charming house for $582 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. The absolute coolest vacation destination is in the Beachwalk, and this home offers 3000 square feet of living space at a lower rate than Beachwalk homes with more bedrooms in a similar footprint. Completed in June 2020, East of the Sun sleeps up to 14 with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. You can unwind after a day at the beach in the music-themed basement that features a pool table, karaoke stage, and wet bar amidst music memorabilia or entertain in the solar-themed main floor. Enjoy an evening by the fireplace inside or at the shared fire pit outside. Stocked with games, books, and movies, the entire family will be entertained in this new gem in Lake Michigan's premier vacation resort. For larger parties, you can rent along with the adjoining Troll's Den or Valhalla, which sleep up to 6 and 11 respectively. Earning rave reviews, come check out the coolest property at the Beachwalk! From Memorial Day through Labor Day, there is a 3-night minimum and all guests must purchase resort passes, which cost $15 per person. There is a $5 parking cost per car. All cleaning fees are baked into the nightly rate. Please note that we maintain a smoke-free and pet-free environment. Cleanliness and infection control has always been a top priority for our company. Our cleaning and infection control processes were put in place so that when you visit our homes at the Beachwalk, it's both safe and comfortable. We will continue remote check-in/check-out procedures, but as always will be available to take your calls, answer any questions, and provide the overall great service you have come to expect. Early check-ins or late check-outs will be allowed when possible and will be charged at the hourly average of the nightly rate.

We really enjoyed our stay...we were getting together with seven long time friends. The home was clean, and inviting. The decor was really well done. There was plenty of room for us to spread out. Communication with the host was excellent and he was available for any questions that we has. We will be back.

We rented this home for our bridal party for our wedding weekend, and it was PERFECT! The owner, Anders was extemely prompt and helpful with all questions, via text and vrbo messaging. The basement of this home is AMAZING! Very spacious for the entire bridal party, partners, and children. It's got a fun, rocker vibe - so nicely decorated. The wide open living/dining/kitchen area made it easy for all to be together whether eating, lounging, or playing games. Would recommend this home again and again!

What a beautiful well maintained property and wonderful owners to work with! They had an informative binder full of instructions for the property and local ‘to do’s’, restaurants and menus. Plenty of space, large kitchen, lovely front porch to sit on and the house was very clean and comfortable. We only stayed for the weekend but we had 3 generations of family and everyone was comfortable and had plenty of room. Everything you need was provided. Tons of board games and entertainment for all. Karaoke stage, arcade game, and pool table in the basement was a huge hit for both young and old. Everything was absolutely amazing, we enjoyed our stay and would love to return next year.

Everything was absolutely amazing from location , to space , to responsiveness of owner , etc etc.
Location is walking distance to Michigan lake beach -- older kids used bikes daily - even did and 8 mile trek to cross into Michigan via bike. Golf cart was handy as well.
Parking is good for two Small/medium cars , if more cars get the $5 pass and park in overflow ( easy walk back to house). We used the fire pit and grilled . The $15 arm bands are well worth it but be sure to reserve your time for tennis courts because they go fast !! ( pickle ball was 24/7 there).
We all hd fun with karaoke machine !!!
I am already talking with family about staying in this house for a multi family trip !!

Our stay included grandmas, children, and grandchildren and there was something for everyone.
We loved the golf cart and wagon to help transport things to the beach (which was a short walk away). We also took advantage of the pool, ping pong, kayaks, and paddleboats. The house was first rate and the karaoke stage proved a hit with young and old.
Not flashy but the stock at the house (paper towels, tp, towels, blankets, etc) was top notch. Impressed the house didn’t have any stray sand!!
The only negative would be the house (while clean and nice-smelling), the floors must have had ground-in dirt that turned our little ones' feet black. But not enough to deter a stay at this property again. We're already talking about coming back. We LOVED the house and the Beachwalk area. Thanks for the hospitality.

The online, check-in, and check-out process was very smooth. The owner was very nice, friendly, accommodating and helpful with all questions and concerns. The property is exactly as advertised and very beautiful. The amenities are excellent and it felt just like home!
Our favorite part of the property was the basement entertainment area. We literally spent HOURS doing karaoke! Not even the cold and rainy weather put a damper on our celebration. There was only one thing that needs improvement...the mattresses in all, except one bedroom, need to be replaced. They were not comfortable. However, it was an overall EXCELLENT experience and we will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a bachelor party here with 12 Men.
All 3 floors of the house and yard space serves a purpose.
At no point did we fill we didn’t have space.

We stayed with our extended family for a long weekend. The house was beautiful and well kept. This was thr most well stocked kitchen I've ever seen! We traveled with infants so the floors looked clean but also showed the dirt as our littles crawled all over the floor and turned brown. But otherwise house was super clean. The neighborhood was great but we were a little surprised at the number and closeness of the homes in the beachfront community. It was lovely to be so close to the beach and downtown. If I could change anything I would highly recommend upgrading the beds. They were definitely not up to par with the rest of the home. But overall a beautiful home and community! Owner was also super responsive and friendly!

Good kitchen and sofa chair arrangements. Sleeping be flexible with adults and different family members. Great karaoke and golf carts fun and useful. Parking for more than 3 cars a squeeze. Get passes to park i. Iverflow lot. Go to Al's supermarket and cvs on us 12. Much closer than across town.

We love the Beachwalk neighborhood. East of the Sun was a great home to stay while enjoying the area. The karaoke in the basement was a hit with our family, especially on a rainy day. We would definitely stay at this home again. Thank you Anders!

Absolutely Fabulous!!!
We spent 3 nights in this gorgeous house which is laid out beautifully with spacious kitchen, dining, and living room. It is the cleanest rental that we have EVER stayed in. Karaoke, arcade game, and pool table in the basement. There was so much for the kids to do, with only minutes to the beach, swimming pool (complete with kiddie pool and splash pad), and a nearby kids park. We used the golf cart and bikes that were available. This house is nestled back in a quiet area. I really can’t recommend it enough. The hosts are amazing and available for any questions or needs. We wish we could have stayed longer, but look forward to going back again in the future. Highly recommend!!!

On sunny days you have the pool, beach, kayaking, bicycling, etc., and if it rains, there are movies, video games, books, pool table, karaoke, and more. No real problems. Never got to use the property to its full potential because was just using it as a place to sleep for my daughter’s wedding.
Seemed to be great place for kids and family. Lots of neat things to do in the basement.
Use of a golf cart is a must at this location which this house had.
