Nestled in Sawyer, this attractive cottage for $195 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Blue Door Cottage is a family friendly year-round retreat situated in a private wooded location with backyard adjacent to Warren Dunes State Park. Cozy up to gas log fireplace in the living room that easily turns on with the flip of a switch. With two bedrooms, spacious kitchen, and living room with new queen-sized sofa bed, the cottage can accommodate up to 6 people. Enjoy a meal on the large deck with choice of gas or charcoal grill. In the surrounding area known as Harbor Country, enjoy antique shops, restaurants, bakeries, wineries, microbreweries, distilleries, art galleries, boutiques and more. Walk into Warren Dunes State Park on a path through the trees at the end of the cul-de-sac. Down the road towards Red Arrow Highway is a great produce market open seasonally and The Beach Bucket for ice cream and snacks. Only one dog under 50 lbs allowed $95 nonrefundable fee applies. Contact owner for pre-approval on exceptions to the pet limit/size. Please include dog breed and weight. Additional fees may apply.

We had an amazing stay at the Blue Door Cottage. The space was clean and cozy and had all the necessary amenities. We all loved the outdoor space, especially our pup. The proximity to the beach was our favorite part and we loved our daily walk through the woods to get there.

Peaceful, comfortable, and spacious accommodations. We had some great coffee with the Ninja coffee maker, and appreciated the extras. Very close access to Warren Dunes, local breweries and wineries. We happened to have great weather but even if not, the stay would have been wonderful.

One thing we didn’t do was make sure we had aluminum foil and plastic wrap and lunch bags with us. Those were not at the property. Other than that it was great and comfortable.

This place was great. First, we love the location. It is right next to Warren Dunes state park, near the fruit stand and close to the town of Sawyer. Second communication with the owner was great. Thid, it has lovely outdoor space with a firepit and a deck with a gazebo and grill and lounge chair etc. Kitchen is well stocked. Will definitely come back.

Was able to celebrate a quiet, away-from-it-all Thanksgiving with a dear friend here. The cabin was as described; cozy, well-equipped, and easily accessible to the state park and beach! Super comfy beds and soft towels; welcoming living area and outdoor deck with fire pit. The kitchen had a terrific coffee bar and lots of other cooking equipment. Wifi and TV worked great for movie nights in! Quiet neighborhood, and super responsive hosts. The only bummer was the fireplace not working, but they tried to fix it as soon as we alerted them to the issue. I will be back!

Great little spot! Owner was very communicative and property was just want we wanted….got the experience of the woods and fall color AND the beach was a nice walk away. It was also great that we were able to bring our dog! Will be back!

This home is great for the price and in a very good location for nearby Warren Dunes and towns located all within a 30 minute drive. We have enjoyed coming here over the years. It does need some updating to the furniture and exterior features but overall great amenities and cleanliness. The owners are great and always responsive and helpful! I would highly recommend this to any family!

Blue Door Cottage
Blue Door Cottage was a great summer getaway for me and my small family. The cottage was clean and the outdoor areas had everything you could need--grills, table, chairs, firepit, etc. The location is perfect--right near Warren Dunes, Weko Beach and other attractions. We were blessed with perfect summer weather and surprised at how few bugs were out--maybe it was the lake breezes. Would definitely come back!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. We found the property to be just as described and we were comfortable. We unfortunately had an issue with the AC, but Jaime responded quickly and had a repair person there within 2 hours who was able to restore cooling. Thanks for a great vacation, we would definitely return.

Pros:
-Well stocked. Probably the best appointed vacation rental I’ve ever stayed in, with plenty of kitchen supplies, towels (both beach and bath), games, movies, and beach equipment.
-Comfortable beds, and a king bed in one room is a huge bonus for our family.
- Good location for beach days if driving
- Quiet neighborhood and peaceful setting
- Nice fire pit which we used several times
- Plenty of space if traveling with kids (or even for two couples)
- Plenty of living room furniture for relaxing. Many rentals I’ve stayed in don’t provide enough furniture for the whole family to relax in the living area, but this cottage has a sofa, loveseat, and recliner.
- Responsive and helpful host. We managed to lock ourselves out despite the warnings about how easy it is to do so and Jaime responded immediately with assistance to get us back inside.
Cons:
- May or may not be walking distance to beach depending on circumstances. At just over 3/4 of a mile to the beach on foot via the path at the end of the street, it’s not really walkable if you’re lugging beach stuff with you or have young kids
- Bikes were in rough shape and we didn’t feel comfortable using them again after the first try
- Lots of insects inside the home. Yes it’s in the woods but routine pest control would likely be beneficial
- Outdoor areas could use a bit more maintenance/ upkeep
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would easily recommend this cottage to others.
