This house is overwhelmingly musty to the point that I question its air quality safety. There was mold on my bedroom wall, mold stains on the upholstery, even mold stains on the paper sheet of 'instructions' on the fridge. Many windows won't open. The ones that do are propped open with pipe, or metal boxes or other junk. All are flaking paint. The house exterior is generally in disrepair. The yard where not mowed is overgrown, apparently so as to obscure the dilapidated buildings dotting it. It's a shame because the house could be really magnificent.
The owner(s) are generally unhelpful and disappointed to hear from you. I asked to be ensured that the propane for the grill was full upon our arrival as we were coming in late and might need it. I was told " You can fill it up at the gas station down the street." Thanks. I know how to get a tank exchange. When I asked for help as to the whereabouts of linens and towels I was told " This isn't a hotel!" Well, ma'am, you are in the hospitality business, and I did pay a hotel tax, and frankly neither I nor about anyone else using VRBO has ever rented a house that does not supply these basic amenities. ( they do supply them albeit grudgingly and permeated with the house's patented musty smell - no wonder 'most people supply their own.'
The long and short is: This house is well, well below VRBO standard and you should avoid it if you can.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well- lived home. No A/C, but fans in every room did the trick. An enormous yard and deck in addition to 4(!) living rooms and a closed porch.
We'd love to go back!

Very unique , plenty of room for a family and pet . Quiet neighborhood and accessible to all areas of the cape. We enjoyed our stay

House was so spacious. Old farm house with so much charm. Grounds were lovely in summer with gorgeous old trees, flowers blooming, bunnies scampering about. Adirondack chairs in a shady spot and lounge chairs and umbrella-ed table and chairs on large sunny deck.
Walking distance along street with hardly any cars to cafe and town green which has weekly outdoor concerts. Longer bike ride to Main Street near the water with all the shops. (Is hilly but Bank st. is nice on way, South st/Forest st on way back isn’t too bad) Or a quick drive.
Everything you could need in kitchen- tools and staples -wise. Nice butcher block island for prepping meals. Wifi was good. Owner was very responsive.
We had a nice time here. It’s an old house so if you’re looking for modern it might not be your cup of tea. We loved the old cottagy vibe of it. Highly recommend !

The bed my husband and I slept in was slanting to the left so we slept down stairs. The light in the downstairs bathroom was not working. A window in main living room is broken, and the door to the deck was tough to shut. But we loved the place. Plenty of room for the 12 of us. Loved the yard and the playground at the school. Would come back again.

My family had a great time here. The location is fabulous. The kitchen is very well supplied and the adjacent dining room accommodated all 8 adults and 2 kids. Emilie was quick to answer any questions. As as another reviewer noted there is a musty smell and some torn screens made it hard to keep both kitchen doors and some windows open for circulation.

The house was easily the most interesting place we've ever stayed.. 4 or was it 5? Living rooms? Who does that? The house is old so it has some quirks, but I didn't find that off putting. Love the big yard! Plenty of parking and very good location. Very short drive to the beach. Some of us rode bikes and got there in about the same time. Also a plus for the elementary school crowd, there is one about 100 yards away and you can access there playground. We learned how to play gaga ball from the grandkids, also close by the rail trail which we love

We understand that difficulties arise. We did not expect COVID-clean, but basic clean would have been nice. I also had to contact the owner for check-in instructions, but usually she was responsive. Emilie notified us that cleaner would arrive the next day 11am, but did not offer any reparation for the inconvenience or this half of the review would have been last instead of first, and less detailed. And I would have given more stars. Refrigerator was dirty (I cleaned the worst of it, but there’s still some between shelves/glass and my family told me it’s not my job), dishtowels and oven mits dirty, dishwasher full but clean, tubs, sinks, counters not wiped down, floors dirty and vacuum cleaner bag full, there were no extra bags. We did some vacuuming.
Warning to allergy sufferers: the home is extremely musty. Some of the couches and quilts have that rotten/sour smell from the constant damp. We tried to dry it out using the box fans where possible, or placed a quilt over it before sitting. We understand it’s been a very wet Spring. It rained midweek and there is a leak in the sunroom. We set a bucket under it.
Now for the good, as we are a family that doesn’t allow the above issues to interfere with FUN: we loved the funkiness and solid bones of the home (even the rotting floor near the back door), the tall, narrow stairways, the beautiful original wide plank floors and wood trim. We enjoyed using the rooms at different times of the day, moving w the sun. It was kind of fun feeling a little lost when trying to get to the bedrooms. One visitor waxed gaga over all the tchotchkes in the nooks and crannies on the walls. We entertained on the deck twice. Loved the proximity to the RailTrail. Loved the ample parking and privacy. Our week at 25 Parallel was fun and memorable.
Lastly, we really appreciated the lack of cancellation fee, as we have 22 schedules to consider, split between 3 rentals, and this offered us some much-needed flexibility.

We had such a great time staying here as a big group of friends (including kids and dogs). Everyone was very pleased with the size of the house as there was plenty of room to hang out all together while also being able to obtain personal space when needed. As mentioned, it is an old house--there was certainly some funkiness but nothing far outside of our expectations. The large, private yard was a huge hit for playing lawn games, grilling, and lounging/reading. We also loved being so close to the playground and fields just a short walk from the backyard. It was a nice road bike ride and quick drive to the beach, though coordinating trips via car was a bit of a hassle at times since beach parking passes couldn't be shared among different vehicles. Once at the beach, however, it was great to have easy access to public restrooms as well as restaurants and some nice shops within walking distance. The beach itself was really nice, too--sandy, clean, and not too crowded. In addition, the owner was very responsive throughout the whole booking process. Overall, we had a great experience!

Wonderful place for a big family! Huge and quiet yard with lots of wildlife. Quiet neighborhood and convenient to stores, parks and bike trail. Inside the house is funky as advertised. There's lots of room, stocked kitchen, handy laundry. Great deck and grill. We'd love to go again. Only thing missing is an outdoor shower!
