About this condo rental
Located in Mission Beach, this lovely condo for $125 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. The Candelore Family is happy to offer a studio apartment with Boardwalk Patio privileges. The studio has a full kitchen area with table and chairs. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination. Note that the apartment is not directly on the beach and does not have a direct view to the ocean. With the front door open, there is an oblique view to the boardwalk, and the main living area side window has a distant view to the ocean. The shared patio is on the boardwalk, but not the unit itself. The unit is upstairs towards the rear of the property. The upstairs is light and bright and the window blinds may be left open as it is difficult for people to see in. PLEASE READ AND AGREE BEFORE INQUIRING: The unit is suitable for 2 adults (a couple possibly with one infant or small child - 5 years old or younger). There is no access to the patio for non-guests. Due to the small shared area of the patio available to the studio, no one can be invited to come to the patio. For the health of our guests, no smoking of any kind is allowed inside the unit. We are serious: offenders will be fined. Mission Beach studio apartment. This unit may be rented in conjunction with an oceanfront beach house. See VRBO listing 455128. There is a barbecue that may be used with the unit that is located in the common courtyard area. Consider staying during off-peak season times. If families want to get together to book for 4 weeks at a time, then the city enforced Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) of 10.5% will be refunded to you. There is parking for 1 SUV. Nice studio for two. Nice biking and walking areas. Proximity to the beach was perfect. Water temp was 58○F but nice to look at. Homeless people everywhere unfortunately. No easy answers. We felt pretty safe during the day. Thanks Brent for allowing us to stay with you. Cheers Steve and Pauline.

This little studio is perfect for two adults wanting to explore mission beach! It’s an older home but you can really tell they keep up the grounds and are happy to provide the best experience for their guests. I felt safe and comfortable sitting by myself on the front porch near on the board walk and enjoyed the full kitchen on the nights where we had so many leftovers from all the amazing eateries within a small 3 block distance! Thank you Brant for the amazing stay!

We stayed here while visiting the UCSD campus. The location was great as we were able to get to both La Jolla and various San Diego neighborhoods easily, plus the beach is right outside the gate. The bed was comfy and we were able to keep the windows open at all times for fresh air and to hear the waves. The only downside to this is that street traffic was loud in the evenings and the machinery moving sand on the beach was incredibly noisy and started before sunrise. The unit is pretty worn and there was a huge hairball on the edge of the bathtub and someone else’s trash in the bathroom, but the studio worked great for our needs.

Loved the location. Half mile walk to Belmont Amusement Park which is packed with entertainment for young and old. Rent a bike and ride the boardwalk up to Pacific Beach for more experiences. Not to mention the beautiful ocean access where you can stroll, see dolphins, and watch the sunset.

Literally steps from the beach. Great location. On site parking. Had a great weekend for my daughters early birthday celebration. Perfect size for 2 people. Lock on door didn’t always work to leave, but felt very secure in location.

Beach access and the private patio right on the boardwalk were all really charming. Walked down the boardwalk for tacos and some shopping and strolled back several times. Had a great time. Will definitely stay again.

This spot is literally 10 feet away from the beach! Enjoy a nice walk on the boardwalk in either direction and find a surplus of shops and restaurants! A very short drive (15-20 min) to downtown, old town, north park or La Jolla! Would definitely stay here again. The lock is a bit finicky at first but once you understand how it works it’s a breeze to get in and out!

My husband & I stayed here and it was perfect. Right on the boardwalk. Patio is shared, but lots of space and we were always the only ones there. Nothing fancy on the inside, but clean with everything you need. Host was responsive when we had a TV issue and it was resolved right away.

Now to be here on a ridiculously stormy cold couple of days. Only thing I would suggest, and this really have to do with really bizarre weather that I experienced, is that the tiny heater was not really sufficient.
Otherwise the place was lovely, not fancy but comfortable and clean and after my rainy cold Mermaid Run on Saturday, the hot shower was perfect.
I’d definitely return!

There is a gap in the front door so when the wind was blowing it blew sand into the room. Also it was cold and I found the space heater but it kept blowing a fuse in the room.

The property is exactly as listed. The location is perfect. In the heart of everything Mission beach but far enough down the boardwalk to not feel like you’re crowded. . It was clean and actually much bigger than I thought looking at the pictures. Kitchen is spacious and had everything we need as well as a full bathroom and a lot of room where the bed is. The access to the ocean front patio Was the biggest selling point for me. I will definitely stay here again.

Felt like my wife and I were in a hostel. The inside of the apartment is very very old and there are stains on the floor everywhere including rust on top of the fridge. There were plastic signs all over the walls making the place look very tacky. The bed is very small for two adults. On top of all of that, we asked for a little bit of a later check out and the host was not even accommodating that. The location was nice but you can’t see the beach and the back patio is shared and we had the neighbors use it the whole time we were there so we couldn’t even get that. Terrible stay overall and wouldn’t recommend. Unless you are okay with a hostel like stay. I communicated my disappointment with Brant and received no response. I do not recommend. Rather spend $100 more and you’ll get something way better

We don’t feel that the description that was given when we booked was accurate. We were under the impression that our patio was connected to the room. They were not. After we booked the description was updated showing there were no views and the patio was part of another separate building. We may not have booked this if we knew that in advance

We enjoyed ourselves for the night at this studio, definitely would book again. Parking was easy which is great, the studio is on the second floor (so keep that in mind for packing etc.)
We’re a family of 3, myself, my husband and a 4yo toddler. The bed didn’t seem like a queen but we all fit, nice and snug. The owner included a cot which was great, I ended up moving to the cot and it was pretty comfortable. Love that there was a little kitchen, even though we didn’t cook. The bathroom is a bit small but worked for the night. The owner included, a boogie board, beach chairs and umbrellas. It was within walking discount to the boardwalk which was awesome! Steps away from the beach.
The owner communicate very well on how to access parking, and opening the doors. Only thing I didn’t catch was that the patio facing the beach was a shared patio. Dave and Abby (his dog) were super friendly and hanging out on the patio which was just a bit of a shock to us only cause we didn’t realize it was shared. He was super friendly and allowed us to have it to ourselves when we arrived. Overall great place, cozy is how I’d describe it (could be a bit upgraded). I also wish there was a couch instead of patio chairs inside, it definitely could fit! I would book again but couldn’t do more than a weekend, a bit too small for longer stays!

The beach house has a great location with some small convenience stores if you need anything and it’s all walking distance. The things that we found disappointing was the lack of care to the property. The floors were worn out and with many stains. The roof above the shower was leaking so when we showered we were getting cold drips of water from above. There was plenty of coffee but no coffee filters or creamer. The light outside the property kept flickering on and off. The apartment felt a bit plain and dirty and the front door to get in was kinda tricky having to hold it in the right spot for it to work. We liked the apt and would visit again if things were to improve. It just didn’t seem worth it for the price.

My husband and I first time staying in a Vrbo Retreat on the beach. Awesome little studio and wonderful patio right on the boardwalk. Abbey the dog very sweet. We will be coming back April 2022..
