Our large family decided to ring in the New Year at Barefoot Landing, a VRBO rental. Despite being tucked away in a tranquil place with limited cell service, Wi-Fi is available and the property's amenities more than made up for it.
The heart of our celebration was undoubtedly the kitchen. It was a cook's paradise, fully stocked and ready for our family’s food enthusiasts to whip up holiday meals. The joy of cooking together brought us closer, transforming meal prep into a cherished bonding activity.
The living spaces were cozy, with fireplaces that added a warm touch to our holiday gathering. They became our favorite spots for sharing stories and playing games. Meanwhile, the game rooms, packed with options for all ages, were a big hit with everyone.
Despite the lack of cell signal, the charm of Barefoot Landing lies in its perfect blend of tranquillity and adventure. It created a memorable backdrop for our family's New Year's celebration, making it an experience we'll never forget.

We had 3 generations staying at Barefoot Landing. The home was beautiful, comfortable, and clean, the beds and linens were comfortable, and they really do have enough dinner service for 30+ people! It was a great space to have our family Thanksgiving reunion, celebrating our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. Thanks, Brian and Andrea.

This was our 2nd year in a row staying at Barefoot Landing, and we love it there! We have a party of 13, made up of adults, children, and teens. EVERYONE loves the location and all of the extra things to do at the house! The covered outdoor area is perfect for any rainy days! The oversized kitchen is WONDERFUL!

Our family loved our week-long stay at Barefoot Landing. The location is perfect, on the lake, and the house beautiful, lacking nothing you need. High chair and pack and play for the baby, games and multiple fire pits inside and outside, huge bonus of outdoor commercial fan near outdoor dining on the deck, commercial ice makers were really helpful, private dock with night lights and power is set up perfectly for eating, swimming, fishing and boating. Loved the huge tables so our family could all sit together for eating and games. We spent most of our time outside on the multiple decks and outdoor spaces enjoying the views and each other. Kitchen is great for cooking for large groups along with the gas grill on the screened in porch. Beautiful place and we made some wonderful memories here! Look for the Buffalo or beefalo on the road going to the house.

The kitchen had everything we needed to make a variety of meals, the bedrooms were comfortable (the bunk room was cozy small for 7, age 30ish adults), bathrooms were spread all over and the small suite over the garage worked well for a family of 6. Water was great fun and the dock and deck were used all day long. Owners lived adjacent to the rental, but we had everything we needed and no issues to get help with. The steps from the house to the water were numerous, but most of us went up and down as needed. Great house, great stay, great fun.

I can't say enough about this property. Andrea and Brian did it right with this place. Whether it was relaxing on the spacious decks or lounging in the back room with fire pit, there was plenty of room for all to hang out and have fun. The kitchen was my favorite and we congregated there the most. Absolutely beautiful and plenty of room. We have been coming for 7 years and this was by far our favorite place. Plan to come back! Thank you Andrea and Brian for opening up your beautiful home to us. We made a lot of memories here!

Barefoot Landing is a beautiful property. The deck is covered and a great gathering place for small and large families. Easy access to the lake and a large dock and hang out area. The owners are easy to work with and always available for questions and if anything needs fixed on the property.

Everything was amazing about this place! We thoroughly enjoyed our week with 30+ people(a wide range of adults and kids). Being right on the lake was awesome. The kitchen had tons of stuff, anything we needed. Very clean. The only drawbacks were the lack of cell reception and very limited internet. Also, it wasn’t clear from the listing that one of the sleeping areas was actually not private - it was an open area and not a private bedroom, outside of a separate bedroom near the second kitchen.

This was the second time we have stayed at this location and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times! There is plenty of room even with 22 people staying. We had a great time and we will definitely come back. Owners are always very responsive.

Our group of 10 adults has gathered here for 5 years. We all agree it's the perfect spot for a group visit. The house is in great shape, furnishings are high-end, beds are super comfy. The gourmet kitchen is well-stocked. It has 2 cooktops, 2 ovens, plus a griddle. The over-sized island makes it easy for multiple cooks to work together. The main dining room table seats 12 which allows our entire group to sit together which is a big plus for us. The gas grill is inside the screened-in porch, making grilling possible in all weather. We love the extensions to 2 of the decks that added covered seating and cozy fireplaces. The large, covered boat dock is a favorite spot to hangout and watch the blue herons and eagles. Due to the remote location of the house, most (but not all) in our group had GPS systems that could locate the address. As a backup, be sure to print out the owner's step-by-step directions. We always enjoy our visit. The owners are prompt to respond and easy to deal with.

We were here celebrating our son’s wedding and this lake house was an ideal place for the family to gather. So much room, great amenities and the kitchen has anything you could possibly need to cook with. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The upper deck of the dock was a family favorite to spend time together. Weather was perfect for the fall and we had a lovely time. Also, the owners are very responsive to any questions. Thanks for opening your home up to us.

We go to Norris Lake every year and this place was a wonderful place to stay. Fully equipped for big groups, great outdoor gathering spaces, plenty of room inside, great boat dock, and great location on the lake. Owners are always very responsive. Very clean and comfortable. We will be back to this house.

This house was perfect for our 4 families. Beautifully decorated and ample room for everyone. Bedrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable.
The 2 bedroom apartment over the garage worked great for one of the families with smaller children. This house was well equipped with high chairs and pac and plays for those needing them.
The kitchen had almost anything you could ask for. The huge refrigerator was a bonus for our large group. Additional freezer space for the frozen foods. The grill is enclosed in a screened in porch right off of the kitchen. This was great on one of our evenings when it rained. Additional seating there meant we could continue conversations while we grilled. 2 ice makers meant never running short of ice and 2 dishwashers made clean up much easier.
A large selection of reading material and games in addition to the video gaming area down stairs.
2 washers and driers were great for multiple families with children.
Grandkids loved fishing off of the dock and swimming This was supposed to be a No Wake Zone but there were a LOT of boaters that didn’t honor this. Some skied and tubed as close as 20-30 feet from dock. If you take your boat, as we did, be prepared to tie it down good as the waves got really rough from these other boats.
The walk way/steps to the dock is quite steep but steps are well lit. When we were there Labor Day Weekend they were already letting the lake level down. The owners did contact the dock crews that came and let the dock out some, making it much easier to climb onto the ramp. Be aware though that as the level goes down it leaves a very slick mud that needs to be cleaned off to avoid falling. 2 of our group slipped and fell before we could get it washed off.
The hot tub on the lower level was a wonderful feature to relax in. Lots of lower level seating to continue socializing while in the tub.
Our favorite place though was the upper deck with gas fireplace. We used it every evening and again in the cool mornings with coffee and family fellowship.
Memories made that will last a lifetime.

We took our kids to Barefoot years ago when they were young. It was fun taking them back with grandchildren this time! We had a wonderful week. There have been upgrades to the home since our last visit - especially to the exterior. The dock is superb. Thank you for sharing your home.

As the previous reviews have said Barefoot Landing is AMAZING, SPACIOUS, BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT from the house to the dock. We had a fabulous family reunion. There were 24 of us and not once did anyone feel crowded. There are so many comfortable places to sit and chat or fall asleep reading on the deck.
We have rented many houses on Norris Lake. The view from the deck to the fantastic double deck dock area is the best around. To be able to sit on the deck and see the lake is awesome.
Barefoot Landing has everything you need for a large crowd. The kitchen is well stocked and the seating areas accomodate a large group. From our 7 year old kids to the 80 years old grandparents we say THANK YOU Andrea & Brian for sharing your beautiful home. We will forever hold onto the wonderful memories we made at our family reunion.

We love this house! It is perfect for our large family and were just as pleased our second time as first. The kitchen is beyond properly stocked for whatever you would like to serve. The commercial ice maker is so nice and saves time and money from buying ice. We spend hours on the expansive deck and large dock!! Thank you Brian and Andrea, great owners to work with!
