About this house rental
Situated in Mission Beach, this lovely house for $358 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Our vacation beach rental home is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom tri-level home with each bedroom and bathroom on separate levels. Each bedroom has access to its own bathroom. We purchased it approximately 10 years ago and have totally remodeled it inside and outside. The kitchen has new cabinets, granite counter tops, stainless gas appliances. The home is naturally very light with all new dual-pane vinyl windows, doors and skylights. The bathrooms have new cabinets with granite counter tops, new vanities, lights and mirrors. We provide lots of toys for both inside and outside! Bikes, Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs, Sand Toys! Each room has a flat screen TV, DVD players, Cable TV. We have plenty of games, cards for family time! There are 3 decks for Mom and Dad to enjoy a glass of wine or coffee in the morning. We also have a patio area facing the alley with a full table and chairs. Don't forget the Weber Gas BBQ. The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed and its own private deck with views of Mission Bay. The Middle Bedroom has a double bunk bed with twin on top and pull-out twin trundle bed on the bottom. The Lower Bedroom has two queen beds. All mattresses and linens are high quality and the mattresses are Sealy pillow tops. We have travertine tile in the entryways, kitchen and bathrooms. There are 3 decks and an outside patio in front for enjoying coffee or a glass of wine. The 2-car garage has direct access to the home. The garage is stocked with 4 adult bikes, 5 boogie boards, beach chairs and towels. The natural gas Weber Gas BBQ is located off the kitchen on the second floor kitchen deck. We provide a dual 2.4 Ghz./5 Ghz. WIRELESS high-speed router, wireless printer, televisions with DVD players in each bedroom and movies (at least 25). The washer/dryer is located in the double garage. We provide a baby high chair, umbrella stroller and pac n play for the very young. Within a short walk are several local restaurants, delis, coffee shops and more. These restaurants are not chains, but local! The restaurants include The Mission, Saskas, Rubicon Deli, Pizza and more! Major grocery store shopping is approximately 1/2 mile north on Mission Blvd.

Great place to stay. Was right in the area we wanted to be. Having a garage was nice, tight fit but works. Top floor bedroom has a skylight though so bring an eye mask if planning on sleeping in.

This was an exceptional VRBO experience. The listing was accurate. Easy access to both bay and beach just a few steps away in either direction. We loved the kitchen and it was well equipped with just about anything an aspiring chef would wish. Rooms on all three floors were comfortable and with each floor with its own bathroom made things easy.

The location was perfect for what we needed. Close to the beach and the bay.
The beds were comfortable and plenty of space for our group of 7. As noted by previous reviews and the host, the garage is small. We had a suburban that we were able to park- however switched it out with two smaller SUV’s. It was definitely a tight squeeze for the cars but manageable!
If we ever find ourselves back in San Diego, we would love to spend our time here.

The place was in an awesome location. Walking distance to the bay, shops and of course the beach. There are lots of local convenience and grocery stores. Beach towels, toys and chairs were provided by the host. Everything you would need to cook and clean with are all there to use. Lots of private balconies and much nicer in person than the online photos.

Great location for Mission bay and Ocean surf , got a lot of use out the bikes for beach rides, with 2 families the layout and 3 bathrooms make it a nice stay for 2 families, worked perfect.

The place fit our needs perfectly. Our group was able to each have their own room and bathroom. Place is well stocked, plenty of cookware, blankets and pillows and TP, paper towels and trash bags. Plus plenty of beach accessories. We have always stayed on the oceanside of Mission Boulevard, this house is on the bayside. Was not inconvenienced at all walking across Mission to oceanside for the short walk. Walked to breakfast and lunch at local restaurants. Drank coffee on the patio every morning. Very quiet neighborhood. We are already our return next July.

Our group was grandparents, one adult daughters and her teenaged daughters. The sleeping space was perfect for everyone with the added bonus that each bedroom had its own bathroom. There were all the necessary appliances and utensils. The availability of beach chairs, towels, and beach toys was appreciated. Our interactions with the owners were 100% satisfactory. We met the cleaning ladies in the alley as we were packing up and they were delightful. All in all, this was a good selection for us this year. We recommend this home for a vacation stay.

The property was centrally located—walking distance to the beach and close to San Diego attractions. The house provided privacy because of its three levels of sleeping quarters. It was clean and equipped with more than sufficient linens, towels, and other necessities.

Overall it was very nice place to say. But not the cleanest the fridge has left over food it in, every dish or anything we need to cook with we needed to cleaned first, the high chair was so gross has to be scrubbed down, the pack and play had a broken leg but was still useable . The host were great at communicating. The location was amazing but the garage is definitely made for cars and cars had a suv so it did not fit so trying to figure out parking was a joke.

Location was amazing - close to the ocean, the bay and shops/restaurants. You don’t need a car because everything is so convenient. Also the house had all the beach toys and towels you need.
House itself needs some updating as it’s pretty run down and furniture is crowded. The pillows are all out of life, couch isn’t comfy, broken tiles, bathroom sink is water damaged. Kitchen table is crammed into dining area so you can’t even move the chairs. Kitchen itself is very nice.
If you don’t mind a house that needs some TLC then this is for you. The location can’t be beat.

Excellent location. Sufficient space. Can park two small cars in garage or one large car (minivan). Street parking is limited and not cheap. Owners are very nice and responsive. Home and furnishings show wear, but this is not a "luxury" rental and we knew that. Would recommend.

For a beach rental, it's a great house with several balconies/patios to enjoy. It was clean and included all the expected amenities. Plenty of towels and beach gear --we also enjoyed cruising around Mission beach on the bikes. Some of the light fixtures and furniture could use an update, but, again, the house was nice and clean and we'd absolutely stay here again. Super location. As others have stated, the garage is a little tight, but it worked out for us (Honda Pilot SUV)

This trilevel home really worked out well for my family. It gave us all an area to be together and space to have a bit of quiet time, too. The garage was very small but we were able to secure street parking fairly easily. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it for other families.

We loved our stay! The location was perfect with a quick walk to the bay or the ocean, as well as lots of great places to eat within walking distance too.
We loved the layout of the house - we have 3 adult children so my daughters got one level and a bathroom to themselves, my son got his own room and bathroom (which he never gets when we travel), and my husband and I had the top master level. The house was well stocked with whatever you would need - we especially loved having bikes available and got plenty of use out of them.
Everything was clean and well-kept. We were very pleased and definitely plan on returning!

Very clean. Wonderful location. Nice to have beach towels and bikes and boogie boards and beach chairs. Loved biking boardwalk and around bay. Beds were super comfy! Living room furniture was uncomfortable and tv difficult to use. Check out was a little early for us, wish it was 11 instead of 10. But overall super happy!

The location was great with plenty to do in the local area not to mention the rest of San Diego. Weather was okay except for one day with rain & high wind which brings us to the only negatives we had with the rental. We spent a whole day inside and found the furniture in the living room very uncomfortable, so we would recommend an update in this area. Also we found the lower bedroom was cold and it would have been nice to have had some source of heat down there. These are things that if we owned the property, we would want to know from our guests to make the place more attractive to future guests. Otherwise the place was a great place to stay.

I had my husband and 3 kids ages 20, 19, and 9, my Mom, and my son’s girlfriend. It was great to have multi levels with a bathroom on each level so we could have privacy when desired! I loved that the beach was across the street to the East and the Bay was across the street to the West. Great location to walk to shops, and coffee! Garage was a little tricky to pull in and out of. Ford Explorer was ok but anything bigger would be hard. Overall, cute place!

Fun location. Grandkids (5 and 8) had a great time at the bay. It was raining and blustery. We found breaks in the weather to beachcomb and play in the sand. Lots of sand toys, towels, chairs and bikes for activities. Beds are comfy. Silly complaint, if you have sensitive skin or are scent sensitive, bring your own soap.

This home is in a wonderful location...in two blocks you are either on the ocean or at the bay. The area has nightlife, restaurants, fun shops and grocery access. It is close to downtown, super close to SeaWorld and Belmont Park and a fun area to explore. The house is great. We had 2 couples and a single staying there. There are 3 floors and each floor has a bedroom and a bathroom. It was perfect for our group. The property owners are very kind people. When we needed a place to store our bags until we went to the airport they allowed us to store them in the garage so we could explore the area without the worry of dragging our bags around with us. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Thank you Tom and Joanne for your generosity and kindness.

Pros: Location, location, location. Bay to the one side, beach to the other. Lots of places to eat close by. So much to do in San Diego and it was easy to get to Front St. and all the highlights of the city near there. The bed I slept in was very comfortable and the sheets were great! Plenty of bath towels. Bikes, boogeie boards, beach towels, and chairs were all available to use. Kitchen was well stocked. When we had any issue, the owner got back to us in a timely manner.
Cons: The house is showing it's age, and beach rot doesn't help any home near the ocean. Parking is rougher here than say Newport Beach, because the "streets" are walking paths, so that eliminates street parking in front of the house. We had a large car with us and it wouldn't fit in the garage, couldn't park it behind the house, so we were forced to park it on Mission Blvd. Two smaller cars fit just fine in the garage, The house was clean, but could use a really deep scrub and definitely needs some repairs.
I am a former owner of a rental beachhouse and I understand that the elements are harsh, renters can be rough, and something always seems to be broken. I didn't pay for a luxury beachfront house, and that's not what I expected. I would stay there again.

Joanne was great to work with. She gave her number and Tom's number. Didn't call Tom. Did text Joanne and had talked on phone as well. Wonderful, responsive, easy to work with and everything was as stated. You could put 3 families in this house. 2 would be real comfortable. Grill outside. All the dishes and cook items you need. Tp and paper towels. Towels, bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas for beach. 2 car garage. Smaller car would be easier in this garage. Washer dryer in garage. Mission bay 75 feet on 1 side and Pacific ocean 300 ft on the other. Restaurants and parks all within a mile. Close to parks and airport. Probably 2 miles to seaworld. Rent this house and you won't be sorry. Thank you both for making our vacation great.
