Nestled in West Stockbridge, this lovely farm stay for $336 per night is a great choice for your next break. Welcome to our idyllic farmhouse in the beautiful Berkshires, where you’ll enjoy the tranquility and comfort of country living any season of the year. Relax, slow down, watch the birds in the garden, listen to the babbling brook. Or take advantage of all the Berkshires has to offer – cultural attractions, fine dining, outdoor adventures, shopping and more. Spend some time here and create memories for years to come. This is a 2 story 1840's farmhouse in the Berkshires with original ceiling beams and 16' floor boards in much of the house. Fully furnished with 5 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a gorgeous screened-in porch overlooking 4 acres of gardens, stream and wooded mountains. It has a fully equipped country kitchen with dish washer, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, and lots of cooking utensils. A full dining room with butcher block table that seats 12 and 2 complete sets of dinnerware; glasses, mugs, and wine glasses. A large living room with 2 full couches (one is a comfortable queen pull out and the other is a great napping or over night sleeping couch), a love seat, and rocking chairs. WiFi/Cable TV/VCR/DVD/Stereo/and CD player. 1 bedrooms upstairs with queen bed, 2 with double beds, and 1 with single bed. 1 bedroom downstairs with king bed. All beds have memory foam toppers, all linens included. 1 COMFORTABLE (really) queen pull out couch in living room Downstairs bathroom has washer and dryer with soap; shower has soap and towels. Perennial gardens and large vegetable garden. 2 miles from downtown West Stockbridge where you can shop and dine; 2 minutes from Card Lake Pond for swimming and fishing; 15-20 minutes to ski areas; 10 minutes from Tanglewood, theatres and movies; 10 minutes from Norman Rockwell Museum; 20 minutes to Pittsfield; 2.25 hours from Boston; 2.5 hours from NYC. Wooded and river walks/bicycling, cross country skiing/snowshoeing right out the door.

My wife and I wanted a place that was quiet with a comfortable reading room and accessible porch, close enough to town and still distant enough for serenity - and this house had it. Not that we needed it but it's important to acknowledge that the house has 5, count 'em, 5 bedrooms.
It's a bit rustic, as disclosed, but the master bedroom upstairs was very comfortable. Plenty of sheets and towels and a very well-stocked kitchen. We did not need the dining room but that was a lovely room as well. The house is on Rte 41 so there was the sound of traffic, but at night so few cars passing it was not an issue. Our favorite room was the wide and comfortable screened-in porch, where I spent most of my time. The drive to Great Barrington is under 15 minutes and Stockbridge is even closer. All of this is delightful, but the best feature is Elaine's hospitality - always available if we needed anything but never interfering. She is fascinating: be sure to ask about her personal, worldly life experience.

This was the perfect place to gather for a group of adults (family and friends) coming together for a Tanglewood extended weekend. The charming farmhouse had lovely quaint details, such as exposed beams, wide plank floors, quirky closets. We spent most of our time and had all of our meals out on the ample screened porch, looking out over the lovely garden. The kitchen was well equipped. As it is an old house, we kept the windows open to keep it aired out. And thankfully every window had tight fitting screens and really effective fans, which were all we needed to stay comfortable even on hot nights. Elaine was a gracious and friendly host, and really made us feel welcomed.
Our only reservation would be for people with mobility concerns: 4 bedrooms are up a steep and narrow staircase. This was not a concern for any of us, but it could be challenging for some, or for people with heavy luggage.

We enjoyed our stay with Elaine Hoffman as she welcomed us warmly to her rental home. Very comfortable accommodations and a great location. Beautiful, peaceful grounds. We had access to everything we needed to make our Berkshire visit most enjoyable!

We had a lovely stay in the Berkshires. The house is in great shape for being almost 200 years old - very well maintained and clean. We had plenty of space for our four adults and two kids. Elaine is a fantastic and attentive host. A perfect long weekend away with family. Highly recommended!

We were 2 families of adults celebrating the new year. This house had everything we needed. The house was quaint and had some great hiking right behind it. The owner and her pottery studio also lived in the property. A short drive to Stockbridge and great Barrington.

Elaine is the best host. The house is so nice. Clean and comfy beds. Everything we needed was there. And Elaine is a great tour guide. She gave us great places to visit with directions. We will be back. Oh and don't forget to check out her pottery.

This house is a great country farm house with a great host. Elaine’s pottery shop is on the property and she was available whenever we had questions. She went over the house rules etc., gave us the keys and answered our questions when we got there. She has a big garden and shared fresh produce with us. Flowers too! The house has plenty of room and was the best stocked house of the many we stayed in. Our bed was so comfortable. There is a screened in back porch that we enjoyed during morning coffee. I saw several yard games that were for use. The tv was a little tricky to use but Elaine came and showed us how. This was a good house for our hiking group and would be a great place for families.

A step back in time to a simpler way of living in the Berkshires. Ten mnutes to Tanglewood and Lenox. Located on a beautiful property with access ro vegetables and herbs grown by the owner. Fully equipped kitchen and wonderful porch. All the linens we could ever need and a wonderful Host, Elaine Hoffman who made sure we had everything we needed--even someone to go on walks with in the early morning so that she couldd show us some beauriful paths we would never discover on our own. Easy to find. Fifteen minutes to shopping in Great Barrington. Five minutes to West Stockbridge. We had a delightful time.

Great getaway for a family or group
Our 3 night stay at Elaine’s 180 year old farmhouse exceeded expectations. We had plenty of bedrooms, a fully outfitted kitchen where we could prepare meals, a large dining room and a screen porch. The setting is lovely and the yard big enough to kick around a soccer ball. Elaine also gave us a great tip for a local pizza shop where we picked up the pizzas and cooked them back at the house. The furnishings and appliances are comfortably old-fashioned but everything works. We’ll be back!

Rustic stay in the Berkshires
We just spent 5 nights for a family gettogether (67+) of my siblings and our dog Gracie. Elaine has done a wonderful job of creating a place where families can bond. The living room was large with plenty of seating. The large dining table was much nicer than going out to a restaurant. The weather was still nice enough for us to enjoy the screened porch with its plentiful seating. Morning tea and coffee was relaxing out there. The kitchen is well stocked (so well there isn't much room for your stuff) and had everything you would need. The gadget drawer had it all from pizza cutter to bottle opener. Elaine even provided fresh greens and tomatoes from her garden. Everyone commented that the bed they slept in was comfortable. Gracie is a free-range dog so she did get a little antsy being on a lease around the house but there is a rail trail nearby and she could burn some energy there. Being a group of elderly people we did find one negative to an otherwise perfect place. Being an old farmhouse, the stairs to the second floor became an issue for us. They are well-lit and have railings on both sides, but they are steep and narrow. We have members that are less agile than they used to be. So if that is not a problem for you, this is a great place. It is clean and it is comfortable and we had a memorable time.

Excellent Bershires Stay
Elaine was an exceptional host and catered to our needs perfectly. The house is very accommodating and has all the utensils/linens you need. The outside space is perfect to enjoy nature. Two towns are very close, less than 10mins drive. Also, Elaine had great recommendations. Loved the weekend!

lovely setting and location in the Berkshires
Elaine is a joy and her property is lovely. It is a perfect location to venture out to the various towns and sites in the Berkshires -- 5 min from W. Stock, 10 min from Stock, 10 min from Berkshire Mountain Bakery. The property is private and the back porch is a lovely place to relax and listen to te birds in the morning and the insects and trees in the evening.

Exactly what we were looking for
Our family of 5 and 3 of my kids friends visited over Presidents Day weekend. We wanted something cozy, peaceful and close to hiking trails etc. but also convenient to shops etc. We found exactly what we were looking for in this historic farmhouse. Elaine the owner runs a pottery shop from her house behind the rental house and is an absolute sweetheart. She was accommodating from the moment we reserved to the time we left. The grounds are beautiful and you can hike right out back and be gone exploring for hours! The house is very comfortable and homey and is described accurately. We will definitely be back!

Very nice place in the Berkshires
This cozy farmhouse was exactly as described in the listing. Elaine was very accommodating and went out of her way to insure we had what needed. We work for a traveling construction company, each guy had their own room and the space to walk around outside to get away as needed. Will definitely keep contact info if we have to work in area again.

A beautiful Vermont farmhouse
The property has been beautifully restored and everything was clean and ready for our group to walk in and have a great time. The landlord lives in back and she was lovely to deal with just the perfect balance of helpful and hands off. Everything was as promised and there was an abundance of linens, cookware, etc. we would recommend it highly for a group or family visiting the area.

Berkshire delight!
We are four women in our 70s and 80s who love to hike, cook, read and our farmhouse was perfect. I loved to sit on porch. Elaine Hoffman our wonderful host made us feel like special guests. The house is very well stocked. There were beautiful flowers in the house when we arrived. Hope to return next year.

Awesome place. Great stay.
This was my second time staying at Elaine's and I will certainly be going back for a third. My friends and I had a great time ringing in the new year. The farm house is cozy, clean, and comfortable. This area of the Berkshires is awesome. There's plenty to do in surrounding towns, and is filled with lots of New England charm. Elaine was a fantastic host, as expected. She was accessible, yet removed, and super friendly. Her pottery is cool too.

Farmhouse Charm
A large group of us (13) came to stay for a weekend ski trip to Butternut. The location was excellent and there was lots of parking available. The kitchen was fully stocked which was nice because we did a bit of cooking and we had everything we needed. This was a very comfortable house to relax in, very charming and cute! And Elaine made everything simple from check-in to check-out. Overall, our stay was cozy, warm, perfectly pleasant.

We loved our stay at this lovely, peaceful home. The home is an excellent place to stay and the location couldn't be any better. The home was very clean and comfortable. We felt we had excellent privacy and the accommodation was very welcoming.

Another Awesome Visit to The Farmhouse
This was the second time we had our family reunion at Elaine’s farmhouse in West Stockbridge. The house is darling, clean and well equipped for our crew. We whipped up some delicious meals for our bellies and had many many laughs sitting around the huge wooden dining room table. Honestly, this home and Elaine are the best medicine ever. We will most definitely visit again!

Wedding Weekend
12 of us stayed at the house for the weekend of my wedding. We had a blast. Elaine is on the same property but she is very kind and gives plenty of space but was always there to answer any questions that we had! We LOVED the huge screened porch, it was perfect to hang out on! I think our family would definetely return! Thank you Elaine!

Family Gathering: Plenty of Room, Beautiful Grounds
Our family stayed at the "Berkshire Farmhouse" while in the area for a church retreat. The house is old, but charming. Plenty of space for all 9 of us. In total we had 5 cars, but there was room all the cars. The kitchen was very well equipped. The bedroom arrangements met all of our needs. We were glad to have two bathrooms and a washer and dryer.
The grounds surrounding the house were lovely. Although the house is close to the road, we rarely noticed cars going by.
Our favorite place in the house to gather was the screened back porch. We ate some of our meals there (without bugs!) The small children with us loved being outside as well.
Elaine was very accommodating and helpful. She provided us with fresh flowers from her garden as well as some fresh picked vegetables.
