About this villa rental
The house is located only 50 minutes drive from Reykjavik in a quiet area on Álftavatn lake with a breathtaking view off the surrounding mountains and the lake and a black sand beach. The house: 170 sqm. Accommodates 8-12 people

1st room: w/private WC and dbl bed
2nd room: dbl bed and a sleeping couch for two + tv
3rd room: dbl bed and a sitting/TV area and sleeping couch for 2
4th room: guesthouse w/dbl bed.
Bathrooms 3: two with showers, one private WC ensuite.
Outdoor infinity hot tub (available all year). Lakefront and a beach. In-and outdoor fireplaces. Also a private firepit on beach. Panorama glass sauna overlooking the lake
Two FAKE surveillance cameras are located outside, one by the front door, one outside the kitchen window facing the lake.

Better than the pictures! This house is beautifully appointed with everything we needed for a 5 night stay. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic, and the view across the lake cannot be beat! Quiet location about an hour from Reyjkavik. Note that there is a mountain pass between Reyjkavik and Selfoss that often gets closed during high winds and snow storms. Other than that, the location is rural, quiet, and a perfect place to unwind after seeing the Golden Circle and other sights. 10/10 would recommend!

I can't even begin to say enough good about this property, the host, and our stay! I echo everyone else's 10/10 rating! Beautiful scenery from the back porch! Right on Lake Alfavatn. The sauna and hot tub are simply "icing on the cake." Comfortable beds... We loved the coffee! The location truly can't be beat--right in the middle of the "Golden Circle." Easy to access. Close to the city of Selfoss for dining and groceries. Right around the road from Kerid Crater! It's just as it's pictured. Truly, we felt that we were living luxuriously in the heart of Iceland. And, yes! We saw the Northern Lights EVERY NIGHT from the back porch. What a blessing!(Unlocking the door takes a little practice!)

We had an amazing stay here. The house was perfect for three couples. The kitchen was huge, we enjoyed playing games at the large dining table each night. The hot tub was our favorite part. But we also enjoyed the sauna. Views are incredible and easy spot to do day trips. Very clean and I would definitely recommend. 10/10!!

We are a family of 6, (kids are 10, 14, 15 and 18). This was our first visit to Iceland.. We absolutely loved our stay at this villa. There was plenty of room for us all, the kitchen had everything you would need for meal preparation. The house was immaculate. The hot tub was out of this world! It was a great location, we did day trips to the Blue Lagoon, to Vik and to many hikes around the villa! The Kerid Crater is only a few minute drive from the villa! We would highly recommend this property. Thank you so much to our kind and thoughtful host Signey.
