Heritage Jewel is the perfect mix of island charm and luxury. Tamara’s gourmet breakfasts are superb. We enjoyed complete privacy and perfect sunsets. The property is exactly as shown in the pictures and close to everything you want to do on a vacation. You do want to rent a jeep! The roads are steep! It’s a magical place! The birds fly in and out. It’s amazing. We had the perfect honeymoon! Thank you Tamara & Cleatus

If you’re hesitating on this rental, don’t. The pictures and descriptions only scratch the surface of how beautiful and peaceful this property is really is! The views, the breeze at night and just the tranquility of a mountain side getaway. Not only is the property one of a kind, but so are Tamara, Cletus and Super Dave. Tamara and Cletus made sure everything was taken care of and were only ever a phone call if we had any questions. We have definitely made friends for life there! Super Dave will take care of the driving and also is only ever a phone call away and he will arrange the transport for whatever you want to do that day. It was honestly like having your own personal resort! 5 star property like no other and 10 star hosts!!

This rental is situated on a beautiful property on the top of a mountain. The staff is five star all the way. Tamara and Cletus made us feel at home while staying at the Hermitage Jewel. Tamara is an awesome cook and overall great human. It was inviting and well-appointed. The driver, Dave, is a stellar guy. He takes so much pride in his service and really takes are of you. The house itself is a bit rustic but it is exactly as it is described. There are mosquitoes but just be prepared. It is in the jungle so this is expected. House is clean and has all the amenities for a great stay. We recommend getting the groceries you need for your stay early on (like on the way). There is drinking water on site in a five-gallon jug. Once you are up at the property, it is not close to stores and the closest restaurant is quite a steep walk (approx 10 min). We are from a mountainous area and thought the road up to the home was quite steep. Taxi service is about 40-50 roundtrip to get groceries or anything else in Soufriere. The ATM is also in town so make sure you have access to cash, we used cash more than card. Let Tamara or Dave help you arrange excursions- they won't steer you wrong and they use people that are super trust-worthy and insured. The view from the deck is stunning. The gardens are really neat and well maintained. We took walks through them daily to look at the fruit trees and flowers. Lots of birds and lizards! Overall, this was a great stay with unbelievable views.

We stayed at the property for five days in August and the view is one of the best on the island. The pool was lovely, and the lush foliage surrounding the property added to the natural beauty and sense of privacy. That said, the house itself is in need of significant updates—especially the kitchen, which is quite dated. The lighting in the home is poor, with many fixtures not functioning at all. The managers were aware of this and mentioned that an electrician was needed. The furniture is worn. The biggest issue by far was the insect situation. We knew in advance that bug spray would be necessary and used it around the clock, but it wasn’t enough. Between my husband and me, we left with an estimated 150–200 bites, mosquito and bed bugs. The mosquito netting upstairs didn’t fit the king bed properly—it hung open on both sides. The net downstairs had a large slit, allowing insects in. Tamara, the property manager, acknowledged the netting needed replacement and mentioned that what she had ordered didn’t fit. She said she planned to have a custom one made. Unfortunately, the downstairs bathroom was also full of mosquitoes at night, making things even worse.I’ve now been home for two days and am still suffering from the intense itching caused by the bites. I strongly recommend that the owners address these issues—particularly the pest control and basic maintenance—before renting the property out again. Until then, I would advise others to look elsewhere.
