About this cottage rental
Located in Kill Devil Hills, this charming cottage for $250 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This charming (non-smoking) 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage has a large fenced in backyard and screened in back porch for that early morning coffee or afternoon beverage. Backyard is sod grass with no briars! Great for small mature families, 3 couples and/or people with difficulty climbing many steps. NO PARTY GROUPS/ NO PETS ! No CHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES! Brand new modern kitchen that is fully equipped. New outdoor decks and wonderful living area for the entire family to gather. Outdoor grilling and picnic table are out back for a family crab boil! . Master bedroom has it's own private entrance to the screened porch so you don't disturb your guest if you rise early for that beautiful sunrise over the Atlantic. Large hammock that can be taken out back to soak up the sun! The outdoor shower is also connected to the screened porch so you don't have to go outside to get to it. Also, there is seating on the shaded front porch to kick back in the a.m. First house off beach road and beach access right at a lifeguard stand makes it easy to get to the sand! We are across the street from The Sea Ranch Resort. We provide beach chairs and some toys for your beach trip. Bath linens and kitchen towels are provided. Kitchen staples are provided to get you started. Full size washer and dryer in laundry closet , clothesline out back and one on screened porch for all those wet suits and towels. YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN SHEETS AND BEACH TOWELS !! If you choose to use bath towels provided, you must allow enough time on checkout day to wash, dry and restock them on shelf before departure. NO PETS ALLOWED however, there are some very nice boarding facilities within minutes of the cottage if you want your pets close to check on. The local YMCA is just a few miles away and offers weekly packages for an additional fee for those families wanting pool time.We are also a 20 minute drive from the new Outer Banks water park. However, you are across the street from the OCEAN! Sandy Bottoms bright and happy decor is constantly changing. We always have a project to improve and upgrade our second home. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! There is one camera on the front porch, and one camera on the back porch for outside security ****WE ARE ONLY ON VRBO/HOMEAWAY FAMILY SITES****BE AWARE OF SCAMS!!

This house is cozy and beautifully decorated. I really appreciated all the seating choices! The living room was comfortable and the screened in porch is a unique addition that I enjoyed reading my book and drinking my coffee in. The location is hard to beat since the beach is right there! The front porch was a great spot for coffee and to just enjoy the beach air! I also loved the back yard space with the outdoor private shower. The place had everything we needed in the kitchen as well which made eating in very easy!

We love staying at Sandy Bottoms! The house is comfortable, nicely decorated, and very conveniently located for easy beach access. We also enjoy the well maintained backyard and screened-in back porch. We look forward to returning next year!

Sandy Bottoms is the epitome of a quaint OBX beach cottage in our estimation! We had stayed at this cottage before the current owners bought the property, and must say Keturah has beautifully transformed this adorable cottage!!! Almost unrecognizable !!
Lovely upgrades in the kitchen, bathroom , flooring, addition of an outdoor patio, outdoor enclosed shower, and many tasteful beach themed decorations throughout the cottage. Comfortable furniture, across from the Sea Ranch resort for a great breakfast, and a quick walk to the beach make for a perfect stay at Sandy Bottoms for our family!!
The only very minor surprise was that we had to bring our own umbrella for the outdoor table on the patio which we assumed was included judging from the pictures of the cottage showing beach umbrella at the table.
Again, a very minor inconvenience for us to pack our own beach umbrella.
Definitely plan to enjoy a future stay at the Epps adorable Sandy Bottoms!!!

Only a short walk to the beach, but wonderful and relaxing stay at Sandy Bottoms as well. The house is warm and inviting......beautifully furnished and accommodating. Any thing you need, besides the beach, is nearby. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

Sandy Bottoms is by far the cleanest rental we’ve stayed at.
The owners have obviously put a lot off thought, time and money into the renovations and ongoing maintenance of this rental.

This home is so cute! You can tell the owners take pride in providing a clean, well stocked house. The walk to the beach is flat and easy. The location is convenient to shopping and dining. This was our second time staying at Sandy Bottoms and we hope to stay here again!

This is my second time staying at this amazing beach house . I have three boys all under 10 and this is the perfect location . We walk across the street and the beach is right there . The house is super clean and has a amazing backyard for the boys to play in . We can’t wait for our stay next year . Thank you for letting us stay in your amazing beach house 😊

This quaint beach cottage provided the perfect getaway for our family of 5. It was clean, well furnished and comfortable. The host was friendly and accommodating and was able to let us in an hour early, which was much appreciated after traveling with a 6 yr old. The beach is a 1/2 block straight walk from the front of the house. You can see the sand from the front porch. The one day it rained, we gathered around the dining table inside the screened porch and played cards, which was lovely. This is the first time I've ever had to bring my own sheets to a vacation rental so that struck me as odd but apparently it's not uncommon and was not a huge problem since we knew in advance. You also need to shower and wash/dry/fold towels the night before checkout in order to be out by 10 AM but the extra planning is worth the stay in this home. There are not any toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, or Q-tips like a hotel so pack accordingly. The listing description is mostly accurate except that we could not find beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards or other water toys to use. We left our sand toys behind for the next guest(s) to enjoy so hopefully they remain for awhile. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Our entire family agrees that we want to stay at this cottage again in the future.

Location was great next to target, grocery store, restaurants, and beach. The house was clean and very well decorated. Prefect house for our family with two young kids. The backyard was great for the kids to run around safely. Short walk to the beach. Kitchen worked well for our needs and fully equipped. Homeowner was easy to communicate with. Would stay again.

Not until we checked in did we realize we would be expected to wash, dry and put away all bath towels. We feel paying a cleaning fee and a "host fee" should cover all cleaning. We were rushed a bit to get it all done before the 10am check out time. The tv in the third bedroom was way oversized for the tiny room with no cable connection, so I guess it didn't matter. Speaking of cable, the channel selection was very limited. Most of our favorite channels were not available. Take these things out of the equation and the home was probably the best we could have found. Very close to the beach and extremely clean. If you're staying for more than a few days bring your own paper products as paper towels and toilet tissue are starter only. All things considered we would book this property again. We feel the owners should base their policies on what they would want and expect and not on what other property owners do.

It was located on a beach access road that also cut through from beach road to the bypass so there were quite a few cars driving by and people passing by the front porch on their way to the beach. If you like people watching, you will enjoy this. It was super convenient to be able to take a walk on the beach in the morning, stop in the Sea Ranch's Beachside Bistro for breakfast and then walk back to the house in less than 5 minutes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your home. For the past ten years we’ve visited the outer banks this was one of our favorite homes. Very clean! Full of all the things you need to get started and very nicely decorated. Any questions Keturah answered promptly. We will be back for sure!

Truly the pics don’t do this gorgeous house justice. Extremely clean and so close to the beach. It’s got everything you would want in a beach house. Perfect getaway.
I will say you have to bring your own bedsheets which could be hard if you’re flying to this location. But since we were driving, we could pack enough sheets for the beds. Just something to keep in mind when booking this awesome place!

Overall really great experience with staying at Sandy Bottoms! The owners were responsive with our questions while at the property. Location to the beach is amazingly convenient as well, easy 4-5min walk across the street.
House was very clean and in great shape, you can tell the owners care very well for their home.
