Mr. Ed's is centrally located in Westport Washington close to the beach and the docks. There is a large yard including a fenced in front yard to keep your canine companions safe. Ed's has plenty of parking including space for your boat. Ed's is the perfect place for families as well with lots of toys, books and games for the kids.

The house had so much character and room. The granddaughters loved the upstairs room. I was really happy that there was a small bathroom upstairs - so nice that we didn't have to share a single bathroom. The fenced yard was great for our dog too.

This place is just right, not all foo foo but rather down home, very comfortable and homey. 6 stars on the 5 star scale for us. Great landlord and cleaning/mtce staff and nice location.

We simply loved staying at Ed's. The house is located on an end street ao no through traffic and therefore less worried about grandkids playing. They have stocked the house witb so many things that you forget to pack. There was deer in the yard, firepit for smores, hottub for relaxation. We cant find one bad thing to say. Close to beaches. We will be back. Thank you so much!

Surprisingly large home, that has a lot of history that is displayed throughout the house. The main floor has a good sized kitchen and the main bedroom with a solid mattress on a king sized bed. The upper level has larger rooms with the angles of the roof as the ceiling, but it gives it great character. We loved how much room there was and especially loved the easy-going nature of the owners whom we were able to communicate with very easily. We enjoyed having the hot tub and even though its a settled part of the town, there was a lot of privacy due to the nature of the street and the trees and shrubs. It was hard to figure out the lights when we got there in the evening so just beware that this IS an older home and the lighting is there, but you gotta kind of look and find switches and lamps. There are minimal outlets, but we were able to find enough to make it work for charging our devices.
The heating system was something we hadn't experienced before, but there are multiple vents in the walls that have their own switches you just turn on as well as a main "electric hearth" you can turn on as well. Once we got these up and going the house was very cozy and warm. You can easily walk a block to the grocery store and a coffee shop.
Overall very happy with our stay. Would be great even for a larger family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ed’s.
We were able to really relax because of the owner’s attitude about dogs and kids and the rustic nature of the house.
The decor inside is historic Grays Harbor, and there’s a really cool article about Ed, which we enjoyed. The property was rich with history.
I would have fully given five stars, except for an Internet snafu that made it a little difficult to check in. The owner was very gracious, and did refund part of our fee for the money.
We would absolutely stay here again and expect a second state have a five star rating.

The directions to the home were exactly as stated. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside we discovered a cozy, warm sweet home. Lots of space, large kitchen area, inviting beds and of course the hot tub. I didn't need any assistance from the owner but she had been easily reachable throughout and quick with response. There is EVERYTHING you could need or want here. Appliances, pots and pans, coffee maker, plates all the usual but also bikes ( and helmets) crab pots, games, toys, videos and the coolest old time record player. ( bring your vinyl 😁). You are close to do many things to do. The marina, beaches ( bring your discover pass if you have one for the state parks) food. I will definitely be back here. LOVED it all. PS we were also spoiled with the best weather mid October you could ask for - sunny and mid to upper 70's

The only thing was the last person didn't pick up after their dog. But otherwise it was a nice stay. Of course wish we could have stayed longer.

Don't set your expectations too high it's very dog centric
I will agree with most other reviews the home is catered to families with kids and dogs. Pros: the small front yard by the hot tub is fully fenced, the house had ample room for everyone, comfy futons and chair, plenty of parking.
Cons: the beds are horrific in all rooms especially upstairs in the queen bed, (half of our party ended up down on the futons instead) upon arrival there were less than 1/2 rolls of toilet papers in both bathrooms for 5 people and 2 nights, the master bedroom downstairs had a massive ant problem my parents woke up to ants all over their night stand and clothes/shoes! The area where the fireplace is and picnic tables is right in view of the neighbors sliding glass door which has a dog barking inside so we felt very uncomfortable hanging out in that area (would highly suggest putting up some privacy covering on that part of the fence so guests can enjoy that area better)
Overall it's a cool older house and a place to be after hanging at the beaches I would stay here again though for the convenience of the fenced in yard as traveling with my dogs is not easy in smaller places or motel rooms.

Comfortable Stay
Six of us stayed at this home while at Westport for some fishing. The only problem we experienced was the oven not working upon our arrival, but the owner had it switched out and a working one installed the next day. Good communication throughout regarding this issue. We were able to cook over the fire pit and it worked out just fine. The hot tub was a plus. We would gladly stay here again.

Rustic Cabin
My grandfather was from the same generation that Ed was in, they never wasted anything and built things by hand. That is, to me what makes this place cool and interesting. It's simple and imperfect and you can walk around inside and see and feel the builder as he tacks floor boards down and braces walls and builds frames. The floor boards don't have that perfect overlap you would see in today's homes, the trim work doesn't all necessarily match and doesn't really try to either. The home was built for function and no materials were wasted. Likely built in the same way my grandfather built things, by just "figuring it out". The last of the "true grit" generation. To me that is what makes this home a gem.
The home had ample toys for the kids, plenty of space and games. There was a great little bar a block away that we got some good take-out food from. The hot tub was really nice. My only complaint was that although the beds, showers and toilets were clean, the home just needed a good deep clean because it was very very dusty
That didn't take away from the great time we had and we would come back again

Ed's was perfect! It is nothing fancy but it was amazing. It had everything we needed to just relax. The hot tub was amazing after a day at the beach. The bed downstairs was amazing and so comfortable. We loved the fire pit outside, we roasted hot dogs and s'mores. it is a perfect place to just get away. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic place!
We really enjoyed a week at this relaxing property. It was a very pleasant surprise to find 1 1/2 baths instead of just the one full bath we were expecting. The two very comfortable futons were also used a lot. Not fancy but very very functional and just perfect for our stay. Two days without rain in March was also very nice. Thanks much for hosting us.
