The beauty of this home is unmatched. At times you feel like you are the only people left on earth, surrounded by a giant rainforest and roaring waterfall. The soaking tubs are so dreamy - day or night. At night you can listen to the frogs and the waterfall and see every star that has ever been in the sky.
Jeff is an amazing host and you can tell he loves this place and wants you to love it as much as he does. We will be back - probably more than he wants us to be.

We were a family of 5 with members ages 27-64. We loved the screens. It felt like summer camp. It actually gets chilly about 2am. When the house heats up midday, move to the breezeway in the center of the house.
Stargazing on the lawn was magnificent. We laid on beach towels, and were delighted with the abundance of shooting stars. Bug repellent suggested. The house was a perfect destination and walking in the neighborhood a joy.
Perfect spot to bond with family.

Spectacular, spectacular, & Spectacular!! The most romantic, beautiful, private getaway we’ve ever had the privilege of staying at. The beauty of nature with every view out of the house was awe inspiring. We couldn’t have wished for more with every amenity the property, the house had to offer!

I would fly back to Hawaii just to stay in this property. It sits up high and feels like you are in a huge tree house. The giant waterfalls and river flank the property and are yours exclusively to enjoy. I have been all over the world and stayed in beautiful places. This property will surprise the most seasoned traveler, it is the standard. Amazing!
No need to hike to waterfalls or share your swim pond, it is literally in your yard. It’s also so private you can walk the entire property without seeing a house or neighbor. You can ride your bike to Hilo town but it feels like you are miles into a secluded jungle. The bedrooms are so private it can easily accommodate three couples. I can’t believe this property exists.
The only negative is that we had to leave.

Our entire family feels so thankful that we were able to stay at this property while on the Big Island. We planned our trip pre-pandemic and had to cancel during lock-down. Last year a week opened up on our 18th anniversary and we booked it immediately.
The home is an architectural minimalist dream, the type you would only think celebrities would own. It blends perfectly into the lush tropical environment and hillside. Waking up to the sound of nature and waterfalls was wonderful. We toured several waterfalls while we were here and love the one right outside the kitchen window the most.
We are thankful the owners share it with others and hope to return someday.

The pictures do not do this property justice! It is simply stunning. We had so much fun exploring the property and taking it in. Waking up to these views was an amazing experience! Our only regret was not having enough time to spend at the house. With a very packed agenda, we did not have nearly enough time to enjoy it.

My husband and I couldn't have choosen a better place to stay and to have our wedding ceremony at. The pictures online are amazing, but you have to see this place for yourself to truely believe it exisits. And even then, it doesn't seem real. We arrived late on our first night, the home was set up immaculate with soft music playing. It was the start of some of our best memories. We could never sing enough praises for this tucked away paradise. We certainly will plan an anniversary trip in the future.

First, this property is spectacular. Straight out of a Hollywood set. The grounds and house are tailor made for special events. The inside of the house can accommodate many tables and would be a beautiful venue. In addition, It’s definitely worth renting for a few days to experience the outside landscape. If you are planning to stay for more than a few days, (my husband and I stayed for eleven nights) there’s a few things worth mentioning. First, there is no real living room to hang out in. The house is composed of a kitchen and one bedroom on one end, and two bedrooms at the other end. All that is in between is a huge hallway/lanai with scant furnishings. Again, great for a lot of tables, but not a comfortable place to hang out. There is one couch on rollers, but it is more like a bed and uncomfortable if you are trying to sit in a regular position. It sits down the hall all by itself. If it is raining, which after all, it is Hilo, you are in perpetual dampness. So over all the lanai is not inviting. It has the feel of a meditation center without the cushions. Your other choice is sitting in the kitchen or hanging out in your bedroom on your bed.
Be prepared for whatever weather has in store because the kitchen and bedrooms only have a wood structure with no insulation for heat or cold. However, there are fans for summer, but no heat/space heaters for the cold days. The last item to mention is the lighting. The lighting is dim at best. Frustrating if you are in the kitchen trying to prep a meal. You have to use lamps that are connected to the sink. So prep your meals before dark. In the rest of the house, it’s just dark and sadly dim. Even when it is still light outside. For the brides to be, bring your lighted makeup mirror. You’re going to need it day or night. In summary, the negative remarks ONLY apply if you want to have some hang time at a house that feels more like a home, kick back and watch TV and make meals. Otherwise, it’s a property not to be missed!

Hosts and the property were phenomenal. Great care and attention was made to make our stay spectacular. Perhaps the most important thing to say is if you have the chance to book a stay don't wait or hesitate; you will not be disappointed!!

It's hard to describe this home in words. Upon driving up to the home for the first time, my entire family was elated to see what awaited us. It is a beautiful home, with some of the most surreal views and natural wonder you could imagine. The pictures you see online look amazing, but it's so much more magnificent when you are actually at this home. The sounds of the river, the birds chirping, the light breeze and fresh air that flows through the home ignites your senses. My family spends a lot of time between the different Hawaiian Islands and have never experienced a home where we would rather stay at the home all day versus exploring what Hawaii has to offer. We will be planning our next trip to the big island based on staying at this home again. The owners of the home have done a great job to create a place that is clean, organized, and very comfortable. We did not have any issues with the property, but when we communicated with them upon arrival, and departure they were quick to response.
Thank you for letting us stay at your one of a kind property, and my entire family looks forward to staying there again!

Peaceful, exquisite setting with gorgeous private waterfalls an lush tropical forests. Just a short walk into town. The property is wonderful with everything you need for a relaxing vacation, including hot and cold soaking tubs. Well managed and appointed property. They even put out holiday dishes! This property is amazing. The hosts have thought about your every need. Please book this. Upon entering the property my husband and I got goosebumps looking at the view from the kitchen. Being able to go to sleep and wake up listening to frogs and the waterfall was surreal. The hosts truly go the extra mile to make this place a worry free paradise. I am so appreciative that they share this slice of heaven with other people. The stars at night are incredible. Being able to look at a rainbow from the soaking tubs. Jack and Jane thank you for making our 10th wedding anniversary amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing we could have spent our entire vacation on the property. We loved everything about your home!

A simply amazing property. Everything was just as described and super clean. Stunning views everywhere you look. River is chilly but easily swimmable. We saw wild boar and a wild goat in the backyard, as well as a few tree frogs. Beds very comfortable and laundry came in handy. Absolutely no complaints.

My husband and I have dreamed of staying on this property for a DECADE and it was all we could have hoped for. Sleeping with the windows open, hearing the river below and the koki frogs all around was unreal and casually looking at a gorgeous waterfall every meal and chill time was just the icing on the cake. It was chilly for us at times so we utilized the hot tub multiple times a day. There were plenty of towels and dishes and blankets and we loved being so close to town yet feeling so far removed. It was amazing.
Some things to note - the lighting is pretty poor in the hallway at night and there are no kitchen essentials like spices or oil or condiments if you plan on cooking. Otherwise enjoy every minute of your jungle getaway…you will not regret it!

We live on the big Island and thought we knew all of the sweet, unique spots on our gorgeous island. When we decided to finally make our partnership official with a marriage ceremony, we wanted an intimate gathering spot for very close friends and family. We also wanted to be able to stay at the place where we would be getting married so that we could really just settle in to the commitment we were making together. The words that most people used when they arrived at our ceremony location was "Magic" and "Epic." I don't fully have the vocabulary to express just how incredible this property is and what a gem. Listening to the water flowing from the waterfalls and being surrounded by lush jungle kept me grounded and peaceful, even through the craziness of preparing for a wedding. If you get the opportunity to stay at this location no matter what the event, celebration or getaway, grab it up immediately. Jack is an amazing host and very flexible and accommodating. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed in our lives and we've traveled the earth quite a bit. We only dream of going back on our one year wedding anniversary.

The Falls at Reed’s Island is truly special. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable. However the property and setting of the house on a dramatic ridge above the river surrounded by lush vegetation is absolutely spectacular. It is literally jaw-dropping! As others have mentioned, the gorgeous, private jungle feel is especially unique given the fact that the property is within walking distance of downtown Hilo. If the Falls is available for your dates, do yourself a favor and book it. Spending a week here with good friends was the treat of a lifetime and we hope to return again someday. Mahalo to the owners for sharing this amazing slice of paradise with us!

The property is even better than we imagined. The home is very clean and the manager and owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Manifest Paradise
This place somehow completely exceeded our expectations based even on the incredible reviews and photos of the property.
We were traveling as a family of 5, with three kids under the age of 10.
Some of our highlights:
1. We found the location to be literally perfect -- walkable to downtown Hilo but also at the end of a private drive for a feeling of complete, serene solitude.
2. The home itself is beautifully designed, incredibly functional, well-furnished and well stocked. It was a pleasure to be in, and to use.
3. Communication with the hosts was impeccable and incredibly considerate. The dishwasher had broken before we'd arrived, and they worked diligently to ensure they got it up and running quickly for us, being incredibly thoughtful about our schedules.
4. The backyard is literally indescribable. I have recommended this home to so many of my friends so that they can experience it. Hard to imagine a more lovely, healing place to wake up every morning.

The pictures just do not do justice for this amazing property. We enjoyed every window view and walking through the property. The hot and cold tubs were a wonderful perk too. The kitchen sufficed and we cooked 2 or three meals each day. The garden shed was a wonderful bonus filled with snorkel gear and boogie boards. We were concerned for not having AC but that was never needed even on the i0+ degree days. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing property.
