Located in Whidbey Island, this lovely house for $583 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Whether looking for a couple's retreat, a weekend with friends, or a family getaway to build sand castles and driftwood forts, the Kingfisher Beach House is the perfect combination of architectural and natural beauty. Nestled peacefully toward the end of a forgotten beach road, this home brings the Olympic Mountains and Admiralty Inlet into every moment of your vacation. The 'Kingfisher' is so close to the beach that we built it on stilts and, from almost every angle of this angular home, you are greeted by water. At night, you will fall asleep to the chuckle of churning waves, and in the morning your eyes will open to soft light painted on the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Once inside, you are surrounded by craftsmanship at its very best. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and baking, and the open floor plan allows you to be part of the action while you create. The main house has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a walk through closet for stowing your stowables, and a two-headed shower to refresh you after your day of fun. Downstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and the other with twin-size bunk beds. The main level shower was designed after a Japanese shower room - large enough for multiples, with a deep soaking tub and showering area all in this same room. Feel free to let your kids splash until their splashers are tired, as this entire room was designed to get wet. This home was just completed and is now ready for you and your friends and family to relax at the beach. While staying at the Kingfisher, you will experience this wonderful beach location with the comfort and privacy rarely experienced on beach property. Walk 200 yards south down the beach and you will be exploring over a mile of undeveloped, protected beach and tidelands. On any given walk, you and your friends and family will be sharing this space with kingfishers, eagles, osprey, seals, otters, and all of the tide-pool critters that live in the shallows of the Puget Sound. Keep your eyes on the water while you are cooking dinner or sitting on the deck and you might also see the porpoises patrol the beach. Please note that during the salmon run you can put on your hip-waders, secure a buzz bomb to your favorite pole, and cast with abandon. It is a well-kept, local secret that this beach yields some of the best salmon fishing on the island. If you have kayaks, bring them along, for a quick shove off from your beach will have you exploring some of the most beautiful coastline on South Whidbey. The house has WiFi and smart TV, and is the perfect place to sit by the fire and watch the game. The deck has Adirondack chairs to lounge in and a propane grill at the ready so that you can feed the loungers. I guess the big rule for the house is to have fun - lots of it! My main, humble asking is that you treat our family home with respect. We love this place! The home was built so that your family and mine can enjoy the beach for years to come. She thoroughly cleans all surfaces, door handles, cabinet handles, appliances, window frames, finish work around doors, remotes,... well, pretty much anything handled by guests in the house, with bleach and alcohol-based solvents. The Kingfisher Beach House is our favorite place to rent on Whidbey Island. The location is convenient to the ferry and the charming town of Langley. However, once you enter this gorgeous home, you may never want to leave! The house is pristine and elegant in design and function. From the fully stocked kitchen to the spa like showers, we were able to fully relax and enjoy our winter vacation. Every day was spent walking the beach for hours at low tide, watching birds and crashing waves, breathing in fresh ocean air. Our stay was truly enhanced by the thoughtful owner via messages and a wonderful welcome gift from local businesses. Thanks to Andy for the best impromptu getaway during the busy holiday season. It was effortless, rejuvenating and such a wonderful place to bond with our family.

We stayed for 3 nights, and it was lovely. Check in/check out couldn't have been easier. The house is thoughtfully designed and appointed. The kitchen has everything you will need to cook. The primary bed, is super comfortable. We didn't use the others. The main attraction however, is the proximity to the beach. The tide was out in the early morning and late afternoon, perfect for walking. There is a easy to use fire pit in the backyard, really beautiful ambience. And the locations is fantastic. It feels very private and yet you are close to everything. I hope to return again soon! Thank you!

Truly the most magical birthday getaway. This is the best VRBO we have ever stayed in and we loved every minute of our stay. Andy was communicative and so helpful from check in and beyond. We loved our beach walks, morning coffee and cooking in the beautiful kitchen. We can't wait to return!

Kingfisher Beach House is a superb location for simply checking out, or for exploring Whidbey Island.
Nested at the very end of the road, it is quiet and private. It would be highly suitable for littles on bikes to safely ride around.
The beach is very accessible, even for the grandparents.
The views. Wow. Bring your binoculars and your camera.

Wonderful stay for a long birthday weekend. The kitchen and house are very well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The views simply can't be beat and the beach access is only a few feet away. Wonderful design and use of natural light. The king bed and upper loft area were a real treat.
We found the water pressure in the showers to be very light (even when only one was on) but it just required some patience.

The Kingfisher Beach House is a true gem. This charming property is not only well-appointed but also a haven of peace and tranquility. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by its incredible beauty and thoughtful design.
The interior of the house is nothing short of exquisite, with every detail meticulously crafted. It's evident that this is a place where luxury meets comfort. This was such a special place to stay and we are so grateful for the opportunity! Cooking in the kitchen was an absolute dream. I wish it was like an Ikea showroom so I could scan the barcodes of everything in the house and purchase it at the end of the trip.
One remarkable aspect of this property is its exceptional family-friendliness. We had our 3-year-old and almost 1-year-old, and the accommodations were perfectly suited for them. The layout and amenities catered to their needs, making our stay stress-free. The attention to detail in this regard was greatly appreciated. My daughter absolutely loved the huge library of wonderful children's books and it absolutely made our stay!
Our stay here was nothing short of exceptional, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable beachfront escape.

We loved our stay at this wonderful beach house. The view was amazing, sunsets were incredible. It was nice to have meals on the deck. Kids found tons of shells on the beach and spent a lot of time exploring. Kids rooms were great and books and games in the house were a nice touch. Andrew answered any of my questions promptly. We definitely hope to be back in the future and will recommend this house.

We have been to this property a few times and we really enjoyed our visit. The house and the surroundings are always clean and well kept! The house has all the conveniences of home, but on vacation :) The owner has made some additional updates, which were nice touches.

We truly loved our stay at this wonderful beach house. Seeing the gorgeous view right after we opened the front door was magical. So nice to have dinners on the deck at night. The location was ideal for long beach walks. It is the antidote to busy city life. We loved the high end feel of the house and the cozy private haven it provided. Andrew was welcoming and answered our questions promptly. We definitely hope to be back in the future and can whole heartedly recommend this house.

Kingfisher Beach House is part beach house and part zen tree house… and 100% stunning getaway. A pair of bald eagles nesting nearby sat perched on the pilings along the shoreline throughout our entire stay. Blue herons and egrets played and fished as the tide pulled out, and the drift wood made excellent campfires for roasting marshmallows.
Kingfisher’s hosts, Andy and Maggie, go out of their way to welcome you to their lovely seaside retreat with exceptionally thoughtful housewarming gifts.
The kitchen is well-equipped. If you have children, they also have games, books and toys for them. We had a dog, so we didn’t use those items, but it is indicative of the hosts’ exceptional thoughtfulness.
Like all vacation homes there are some rules. In some homes we’ve rented, owners have so many rules that your ‘welcome’ note is in a binder and the rules go on for pages. The guidelines and instructions here are minimal. Honestly…less than half a page. They keep it simple so that you can truly have a vacation. On that note, the house is beautifully decorated, but thankfully it is also kid and pet friendly. There aren’t any glass sculptures or fragile items scattered throughout house. You can walk in and go straight into r-e-l-a-x-a-t-i-o-n mode. With the exception of 4th of July (enough fireworks to shake the house throughout the night) this is a truly fabulous place for dogs: Our pup was sad to leave. Kingfisher BH is a place to create forever heartwarming memories.

This was a perfect property for calm and relaxation. My husband and I throughly enjoyed the beautiful design and amenities of the house. The beach was just steps away from the back deck. What a trip! This is our 3rd stay here and we were blessed with a May heat wave that allowed us to actually have some water play with the kids. Sun or rain, though, this place is just a wonderful place for us to get away. Andy is the best host we've had and that continued this trip. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Kingfisher for 3 nights. Typically when we venture out to a VRBO location we spend time taking in the area, hiking, sightseeing, shopping, restaurants. The Kingfisher is/was the exception. We felt so relaxed and comfortable at this property that we spent our days there, exploring the beach, playing board games, sipping coffee. If you just need a place to relax and unwind I highly suggest checking it out.

My three adult children and I had a great weekend. The house is comfortable and beautiful, and the views are amazing. Waking to the sound of the surf started every morning beautifully.

My family and I had a fantastic weekend at the Kingfisher! The house itself is gorgeous, well stocked, and comfortable, and the location was phenomenal. We loved using the fire pit at night for s’mores after watching the incredible sunsets. Andy was excellent as a host and our communication with him couldn’t have been better. We have already recommended the house to others and would love to come back soon!
