Beach Haven Cottage is on the beach side of Butler Avenue, so you don't even have to cross the main street; just walk a few steps from your cottage and your toes are in the sand! Beautifully renovated and recently re-decorated by Tybee Joy, this Mermaid Cottage offers everything you could need to enjoy an awesome Tybee beach getaway: A perfect blend of the vintage and the new, it maintains the vintage pine paneling of historic Tybee cottages while also offering updated furnishings and kitchen that will provide guests with a unique beach stay! Loved the layout and roominess of the house plus it was so close to beach, pier, and downtown stores. Lot of parking area for famiky and friends. House felt secluded due to high fence in front yard. We have rented via Mermaid Cottages for past three Fall 7 weeks vacations, and they have provided excellent service. I have SEVERE respiratory allergies and Mermaid Cottages works with my issues to cleaning products and pesticides. They always call to check on us during our stay. I HIGHLY recommend Mermaid Cottages for your Tybee Island vacation rental!

From moment we walked in, it felt like home. Although the house has not been updated, it was cozy and comfortable. Had everything we needed plus some. The home was very clean, the rooms were spacious and there was plenty of storage space to tuck away our belongings. Loved the outdoor patio and small storage area, great for storing all our beach toys. Also convenient to have a hose nearby to wash all the sand off. There is plenty of on-site parking. Easily fit 5 cars on our visit. The beach is literally right down the block. Easy walk for active folks, maybe a tad difficult for chronically ill, older or the disabled. Thankfully, there is drop spot right at the end of the road if they need to be driven. Super easy access . You can’t get much closer than you already are by simply walking out the driveway. Perfect location with restaurants and shops within walking distance as well. The pier is just down the way and the town hosts occasional concerts and actually had fireworks while we visited. Last but not least, I can’t say enough about Mermaid Cottages. Wow! Just wow! They went above and beyond every step of the way. Professional and knowledgeable. Quick to respond and even checked in on us. I would highly recommend this home and company.

My overall impression of the house was that it was in a perfect location and it comfortably accommodated me and seven others. The staff was incredible and responded quickly to a situation and rectified the problem in a professional manner. I look forward to staying with them again!

This place is so unique and cute! the location could not be any better for walking to beach, pier, restaurants. No need to drive and pay parking. one block from the shops. House was very roomy, lots of sitting areas , super great host, made everything easy. Called and checked on us on our second day. We will book this again.

This house has a great location a few minutes walk to the beach. It is near the more touristy side of Tybee, which is OK but I think we prefer to stay further north on the island. It should be noted that there is an apartment attached to this house in which someone lives. We were not aware of that when we rented the house. We have stayed in a few Mermaid Cottages, and this one had lots of space, but was our least favorite. Other cottages felt more newly updated and better maintained. The layout of this house was unique - two bedrooms on one side of the house, with the fridge in the hallway, the kitchen in the middle, and then one bedroom right off the dining area, and the two twin beds in the open loft in the living room.

My husband and I have been to Tybee 4 times. This was our 1st time to rent with the Mermaids but, we will definitely rent from them again. We love the older, historic cottages. Beach haven was comfortable and cozy. Close enough to park your car and walk to the beach, stores, restaurants. Catch a sunset-you won’t be disappointed! Thanks for the coffee, Mermaids! We made a trip to SeaSide Sisters to buy more!😊Tammie was sweet to give us a call. We were very happy with the Mermaids and you will be,too.

Everything about this home was great! Well located, very clean, all the amenities one would need. They also decorated for the holiday which was appreciated. Coffee pot was malfunctioning and they brought a new one later that day. Can’t say enough how caring and professional these ladies are. Highly recommend the Mermaids to everyone!

We always stay with Mermaid Cottages because we have a wonderful stay, whenever we stay. This was the perfect spot for the 4th of July celebration, we where close enough to walk on the beach, shop and eat great food . The grill was ready for our 4th of July cook out and While the younger generation walked down to the beach for the fireworks , I was able to sit out in the yard and watch the display without the crowds !! A great time was had by all !! Thank You Mermaids !!

We LOVED our stay with mermaid cottages. It was above our expectations! The staff was great at returning calls and emails in a timely manner which made our pre vacation experience a good one too! The rooms were large, and clean. The only “negative” was that we did not have hand soap at all or nearly enough toilet paper. On the first night we ran out of toilet paper and the convenience store didn’t open until 10am the next morning.

We stayed for a long weekend in Beach Haven circa 1914 and had a wonderful time...the house was very clean and spacious and was in a great location...steps to the beach and walking distance to all the shops and drinking establishments!..we called it the secret house because if you aren’t looking for it you wouldn’t even notice it from the street!..the mermaids are fabulous and checked in with us before we arrived and once we got settled in ...very attentive...I would definitely recommend this cottage!

The staff and rental process were easy and could not have asked for better customer service. Home needs some deep cleaning i.e ceiling fans, blinds, and stained carpet. Perhaps a curtain or blind in kitchen bathroom due to home across the street being able to see into the bathroom. Also wish the ad for the home mentioned that homes owner was living attached to the property. I think that should be disclosed when advertising.
