About this house rental
Situated in Grand Marais, this charming house for $275 per night is a great option for your next break. NOTE: We have two other properties! One is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house, within 1 mile of downtown. The Westside Getaway property is #2240069. The other is the Harbour View Getaway which is also a 3 bedrooms 2 bath property #3379024. Our Grand Marais Getaway has been a vacation rental for 10 years, and is licensed with the State of Minnesota. It is a bright and spacious home just one block from beautiful Lake Superiorand downtown, in the "coolest small town in America", Grand Marais, MN. The house sleeps 6-8 people in its three bedroom (2 queens, 1 double, and a couch with pull out bed that is another queen bed. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 with a tub/shower, and the other has a shower stall. We provide Wifi, and Hulu television. There is also a ping pong table in the lower room, which is 4 steps down from the main level. The lower room also has a couch with pull out bed, as well as a bathroom and reading nook. Enjoy a book from our library in our handcrafted twig chairs! In the warmer months, spend some time in the small studio building nestled in the backyard. It is a great spot for yoga! The Grand Marais Getaway is within walking distance to all of the downtown. There are many quaint shops, some spectacular restaurants, 2 local breweries, The North House Folk School, and the Grand Marais Art Colony. For the more adventurous, there the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Lutsen Mountains, and tons of great hiking and mountain biking. The Grand Marais Getaway is just what you are looking for....a Northwoods style home, near all of the amenities you could want.

Absolutely perfect. Super clean and welcoming, and totally cozy. Brought our 6 mo old and the white noise machines and high chair were great to have. Plus you'll make a buddy with Wilbert, the sweet local outdoor cat :)

We loved the location as we walked everywhere we wanted to go.
We would have liked some shades or blinds on the French doors in the living toom. Maybe because we live in Minneapolis , but it felt exposed to us to not have the option of pulling shades or blinds in the evening
The hosts were very gracious letting us check in a bit early and left a bottle of wine for us.
We thought this was very generous.
It was a great place overall and we would highly recommend it to others.

The pictures don’t do justice- there are more comfortable places to sit than pictured. It’s certainly nothing fancy but was a nice clean space that met all of our needs. I wish there were more flexible places to sleep for families (twin beds/bunk bed in a bedroom) so we didn’t have to use the foldout couch, but it worked and was a nice space to come back to. We would use it again and recommend to others, especially if the bed situation meets your needs.

We adored our stay here. The home is as beautiful as the pictures. It was the perfect size for our family.
The bedrooms and mattresses are comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The game room was fun and had a great little library.
The location is about a block from the main road. It was about a 7-10 min walk to most restaurants, shops, etc.
The owners are very kind and considerate. We had a lovely vacation. Thank you for sharing this gem with us!

Terrific, well-appointed home — very warm, functional and fun. The ping pong table in particular was a hit! Communication with the owner was great and very helpful as we were both navigating a major construction project that was happening on the street where the home was located. Obviously that project was not the owner’s choice, but she was great about updating me on the progress and various logistical issues.

This property was perfectly located close enough to walk into downtown Grand Marais and explore the area. The split level format worked well for our toddler for an earlier bedtime, too.

This place was great for our family of 4! We love how the house was set up.
You walk in and it’s a fun rec room with games, ping pong table, couch at fault I want to hear bed, and has a three-quarter bathroom!
The living room dining room is nicely laid out. And Ethan has a washer dryer. All three bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable. And the full bath is great. In the back there’s a fun little area if you want to sit by.
Front area is lovely to sit by and have a fire! It was quiet and convenient to walk to everything. This place was absolute perfect for us!

We had an amazing time! This place is close to everything. It’s so convenient! The house is so comfortable and the yard is nice for the dogs. I really liked this place and I want to stay here again. It’s so nice when I am able to bring my dogs. It’s means so much. Thank you for being pet friendly.

We had a great time we felt comfortable, loved the space.Played Ping Pong and did two puzzles We did a lot of hiking and saw the Northern Lights( which we were thrilled about) and made good food and got great Tacos from the Hungry Hippie Tacos. A really fun family trip,!

The Getaway made our vacation great! The home is a super comfortable and beautifully decorated. The beds are wonderful, especially after CC skiing 6 miles. We played hours of cards at the large dining room table. We watched movies in the comfortable living room. We played ping pong tournaments. We walked into town for dinner. We will be back! My family and I stayed here for a spring break getaway to Grand Marais. The house and location were perfect! The house was well-furnished and cozy. The kids loved the ping pong table. The proximity to downtown was exactly what we wanted so we could walk to Voyager, Gunflint Tavern and the grocery store. We would love to stay again in the future!

A group of friends and I went up to lutsen mountain for a 4 day snowboard trip. This home was perfect, very clean and easy to access. Was blocks from downtown where all the food is and had so much space. I would recommend this to anyone!

This was our third winter stay at the Getaway, and we continue to love this property! The property is exactly as described, very clean and very cozy! It’s located perfectly within walking distance of downtown food and shops and an easy drive to ski and snowshoe trails! The ping pong is always a huge hit with the entire family, and this year we discovered one of the games kept there, one we’d never played before. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality! We’re looking forward to our trip next year!

The house worked very well for our family. Four adults and 2 children (3 and 1 year old). It was a cold weekend but the house was nice and cozy. Very close to North House where 2 of us were taking a class. Would stay again.

We arrived shortly after the passing of a family member. The hosts offered their kind sympathies and it seemed to us, they even had put out extra kleenex in each room for us.
The place was perfect! Calm and restful. Easy to find and great location when we had energy to venture out. Hope we can come back sometime when life is happier!
