The first time I went to Anchor House, I was snapped up by the ocean and the sky. This exceptional property enjoys a breathtaking Caribbean Sea view, open outlook, from the sea at your feet extending through every shade of turquoise and true blue to the far horizon.
I fell immediately in love with this property. Bathing in the saltwater mirror pool, facing the ocean, was the icing on the cake. I was ready to go in 5mn walk to Maho where many gourmet restaurants offer great menus. I also found luxury boutiques, art galleries, bars and casino, hairdresser, drugstore, supermarket, as well as a fabulous spa, an 18-hole golf course and a choice of nearby beaches. Finally, I stopped to the well known Sunset Grill & Bar to savor a cocktail”.
Anchor House is situated in the residential area of Beacon Hill, quiet oasis of luxury and elegance on the shore of the Caribbean Sea.
As many press articles describe it the residence designed as an extension of the natural environment is built directly on the rock to become an integral part of the cliff.
The clean architectural line of this apartment combines timeless elegance and avant-garde style. Generously open to the outside, the east-west orientation ensures to appreciate natural light with excellent exposure and unforgettable sunsets.
This modern apartment, designed, furnished and decorated with artworks by international artists and designers famous offers a living area of 3200 sq Ft, 3 king-sized bedrooms with bathroom “en-suite” and dressing. Each room has an area of 270 sq Ft all with bathroom “en-suite”, the master bedroom offers a drop down ceiling TV, a large dining-living room with open modern kitchen, 3 private underground parking spaces are served by lift. Property and setting was stunning and check in and out was flexible and easy. Plenty of room to enjoy indoor and out. Pool great. However the amenities were lacking for the price and upscale nature of the property. There were broken appliances like dishwasher rack and Nespresso maker, knives were so dull you thought you might cut your finger if not very careful and some lights in rooms didn’t work. The dryer was old and stopped working in the middle of the stay. The owner swapped it for a working dryer the day after we called which was good but it should not have come to this if maintained better. At 6k for the week a little surprise and delight could have gone a long way such as a small gift basket with some coffee, crackers and cheese to get started. There was nothing extra not even a back up shower gel or two. We had to buy body wash to get through the week and TP ran out. Have a little bit of extra toiletries and sundries on hand to match the upscale nature of the property like the lovely furnishings and art that the owner is rightfully proud of. Equal care to maintain and fix broken appliances could give a more professional and upscale vibe. The host and property manager care a lot but communications between them could have been better. It could take awhile for them to connect and get back. I often had to follow up. We had a lovely time and we believe a few small and inexpensive improvements could go along way to getting consistent excellent ratings.

One fantastic condo! No complaints!

I want to share that the location of this property is perfect. A short walk to local food/beverage and some shopping. We walked allot which made things easy for our group.The view from the patio is as amazing as the photos show. We have a few complaints but it's nothing I don't feel the owner and manger can address before your stay :-)The ice machine did not work. We could never get the ceiling fans to work. One of our bathroom sinks did not drain. The maid did show up on Thursday but from what we could tell the only thing they did was dump the garbage and sweep the main living area. We wanted to use the safe but when I asked how to use it, no one responded. I tried to google it, but we could never figure it out, so we just carried our items with us.Again, these are all things that def can be taken care of for your visit! Just know that it's location and the home itself, you will enjoy. Do a full walk thru upon arrival and just be sure to address any issues you have.
