Perfect stay
This place was perfect for our family vacation. Pictures don't do it justice. The kitchen was well stocked and storage closet had everything we needed for our daily beach activities (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards). Some of us even took out the kayaks on the Sound across the street. Leonard and Marsha were very responsive and communication was great. We could not have asked for a better stay!

This house was just perfect! Right on the ocean with a very comfortable set up! The kitchen had everything we needed plus some! We even made waffles with homemade whipped cream to celebrate our sons’s 4th birthday! The bathrooms and bedrooms were appropriately sized and everything has been recently updated! The proximity to the ocean was amazing and we’re grateful for the use of the beach chairs, toys and umbrellas as well as the gas grill! We can’t wait to go back! Leonard was always very quick to respond throughout this whole process!

Awesome House and Great Communication with Homeowners
My family and I absolutely loved this house! It was beautiful inside and outside and was very clean! The views and the multiple decks were amazing! The house had plenty of amenities inside and had an overwhelming amount of beach-related equipment, such as a beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and so on. We have stayed at several beach rentals in the past and this by-far was our best experience with a rental. Both homeowners, Leonard and Marsha, were very nice and very communicable. My family repeatedly commented how the house felt very loved. Everything inside and out was well taken care of and we also enjoyed how nice the house looked inside with the various decor and updated furniture. We are already in the process of booking our vacation for thus house next year!

Family vacation 2020
This house was better than I could have imagined. Steps from the beach, beautiful views, beautiful home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals at home each day. Having access to the owners closet was an added bonus. Not having to worry about packing our own chairs and beach umbrellas was nice. My husband was also able to take our son on his first kayak trip on the sound. They loved it. Thanks so much for opening your home, we hope to visit again.

Perfect, as usual
We have stayed at this house before and will stay again. Location is great; close-but-not-too-close to shops and right across the street from a little park with kayak launch. The property is well-kept and has all the "little things" like any kitchen gadget you could want, extra blankets, great internet, Firestick, and this year Leonard was kind enough to provide access to their storage room with kayaks, umbrellas, and more. We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Word to the wise: There's a zero tolerance -- and I mean zero -- ordinance for items left on the beach. We were lazy one day and left our canopy up overnight; we awoke to find it had been collected and transported to the dump. Whoops. Lesson learned.

Just as great second time around
This was the second time my family has stayed here and it was just as nice as we remembered from last year. The house is so comfortable and well equipped. The view spectacular. Could not ask for a nicer beach and beach house to enjoy family time together.

Perfect Family Beach House
Great house! Felt like home. Loved the location of the house. The open layout was great for family (could cook in the kitchen and still visit with family, sea the ocean view, or watch tv) The decks were wonderful. We could sit out near the beach and watch the elusive sand crabs dig their holes. Had a beautiful male red-winged black bird come to the dune closest to the house and sing to us several mornings we were there. The owners were very accommodating and very responsive to any questions we had. Loved our stay and would definitely stay at this house again.

This home and the owners are AWESOME!!!! I can't say enough good things about this place! It is quiet, clean, great location, right on the ocean, totally relaxing. I had a week booked and was only able to say a couple days due to Hurricane Florence, but even in the short time I had there, I am convinced me that I made the best choice possible for a vacation property. I am already planning my trip for next season! Hurricane or Not --- I will be back!!!! :)))))))

Beautiful home, right on the beach. Super clean, and in a quiet neighborhood. A short drive to Surf City and Camp Lejeune. Enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and walks on the beach. Leonard was a wonderful host. We would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable, well stocked house with awesome view
So glad we found Double Dunes in our VRBO search. The week was all we expected and more. The house is so comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. Everything we needed for preparing meals was there. The gas grill made preparing meals a breeze. The layout was perfect with one bedroom and bath downstairs for us and the three and bath upstairs for my daughter and her family. The location can’t be beat , it is convenient but not in an over crowded area. Having the beach just out the door is awesome. The sitting area at the end of the boardwalk is fantastic. We made great memories with our grands that will last a lifetime. The owner Leonard was so prompt to respond to my questions. Definitely want to return.

Beautiful beach house! Loved the chairs on the deck upstairs, at the end of the deck. We were impressed with the grill and the kitchen. We liked the 3br up and one bedroom down. Lots of lighting, 2 sliding doors to get out onto the deck. We liked that the island recycled. We did not see a single dolphin, though.

Our stay at Double Dunes
The home is beautifully appointed and easily accommodated our party of 10. The only thing we missed while there was the use of a grill, but we made do without.
Positives from our stay: We received an unexpected visit from pest control to do regular maintenance spraying, which left me with the impression that the home is well maintained. We saw dolphins every morning, and enjoyed watching the military excursions overhead - different planes and helicopters flew by a couple of times, and that was exciting!
Only negative:We did experience a reaction to mold/mildew, and found and cleaned mold growth under the upstairs sink - one of our family members is very allergic, but it is not surprising to experience at the beach where it is always humid!
I highly recommend this house!

We stayed at Double Dunes for 3 weeks in 2015 and can tell you that this house
met all of our needs and wants !! The pictures do not do it justice.
We are both retired with adult children and grand children who came for various
lengths of time and this house was perfect ... plenty big to accomodate us all.
The owner was easy to deal with ... no problems at all.
This would be the first house I would consider renting when we come back to NC.

AWESOME PROPERTY
This house is adorable. Pictures do not do it justice! There were 10 adults 2 infants and a toddler. PLENTY of room for all. Lets face it, most of your time is outside on the beautiful decks/porches. We had meals IN HOUSE all nights but two. Took turns cooking, etc. Plenty of room. GREAT kitchen w/ all the amenities you would need for a meal. ALL APPLIANCES are updated.Very clean, Very nice. Classy and Chic! If I had to complain about one thing? I really don't know what would be. Looking forward to coming back!

Fun at Dolphin Watch
Wonderful place to stay, great "home" on the beach. 6 adults just relaxing watching the dolphins, sunrises and sunsets. The house was wonderfully decorated and updated. Very comfortable whether you were sitting out on one of the decks, porches, or watching TV in the family room. The owner was wonderful to work with, I highly recommend staying at Dolphin Watch!

Even more updates!
So many new updates! The new paint in the living room is beautiful and matches the furnishings perfectly. People will also appreciate the new furniture (and mattresses) in the bunk room. Finally he new deck is awesome! We love the extra room on the upper deck and lower decks. There's even a bit more room in the shade for those folks who need/want to stay out of the sun. We were impressed!

The updates to the house are great! The new appliances in the kitchen and a new washer and dryer are wonderful. We also enjoyed the new addition to the deck. Everyone had a chance to sit out there and watch the waves. We appreciate the way that the owners continually update the house.
