About this cabin rental
Located in Shaver Lake, this charming cabin for $358 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. (Now with Central Air Conditioning! A very unique amenity in our mountain community but one that really makes for a comfortable stay on the 90 degree days which seem to be more common lately!) This family-friendly, pet-friendly, beautiful, two-story home is located in popular Sierra Pines located a little more than a mile from the Village of Shaver Lake. There are 4 bedrooms (sleeps 14 in beds plus 4 more in a convertible sofa and rollaway beds) and 3 full baths so there is plenty of room for large gatherings and year-round vacation. Along with a full two car garage to keep your vehicles out of the snow and pine needles, the main level features an open floor plan with walls of windows to enjoy the beautiful forest setting. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace surrounded by a stone hearth. The kitchen is accented with beautiful knotty pine cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. It is fully outfitted for the chef complete with gourmet knife set, spices, small appliances and everything else you might need to prepare your favorite meals. Off the living room is a large private deck perfect for those summer BBQs. Propane BBQ is hooked up to the house for an endless supply of fuel. The garage doubles as a 500sf game room complete with 55” TV, Blue-ray, internet video streaming, dart board and ping pong with many other games and activities to be added in the coming months. Living room has large flat screen TV with Blue-ray player and internet streaming. You can play music from your device through the sound system in both the Living Room and the Game Room. Broadband Wi-Fi is available throughout the home. Downstairs there is a full bath near the living room. Upstairs you will find the luxurious Master Suite complete with large Jacuzzi tub along with 3 additional bedrooms and an additional full bath. All bathrooms are complete with granite countertops and knotty pine cabinetry. Our retreat comfortably sleeps 14 with convertible sofas and rollaway folding beds. Our “cabin” is prepared and ready for you to come visit and start enjoying the mountain air at Shaver Lake. Shaver Lake has year-round activities. In the summer there is water skiing, wakeboarding, and sea-doos that can be rented at the Shaver Lake Marina. There are numerous other lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and hiking trails of all levels of intensity to suit everyone from the casual walker to the most aggressive mountaineer. In the winter there is world class snow skiing at China Peak/Sierra Summit. They have plenty of good quality gear for rent so you can leave the bulky equipment at home and come enjoy the best skiing for literally hundreds of miles. Our family of 15 had a great time at Kings cabin. Plenty of space for all of us! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our family. It was a real treat having all the coffee we wanted. The garage is loaded w games for the family! All we needed was snow 😩 The cabin is just a 2 minute drive to town. We ran out of paper towels and Erich was quick to get us covered.
A few notes to help visitors be prepared: there is no cable so if you want to watch football (or any sports) be sure you either have cable or the necessary apps on your phone so you can share to the tv. There is no “hot tub”, it’s a large and lovely bathtub.

Booked the house for a number of employees doing work in the area. With the large number of rooms and beds it worked out really well and was cheaper than getting hotel rooms for all the guys. They appreciated having a comfortable, relaxing, and homey place to stay.

Stayed here for a weekend with a group of coworkers. We were very impressed with the pictures, and the real thing did not disappoint! The cabin was spacious and clean, with lots of greats games and outdoor gear in the garage! The check in process was quick and easy, and the host left clear instructions for check out process. I really appreciated how quickly they answered any questions we had and smooth the process was. We're also very grateful that they allowed pets! All in all, we had a wonderful time and the lake and it was nice to come home to wonderful place to rest and relax with friends.

This house is absolutely amazing! It was perfect. Clean comfortable great location perfect for our trip to the lake. Our hosts were on top of things even sent us back a cellphone that was accidentally left there. We had so much fun, this house is kid friendly set up nicely for families. We would all definitely use this place to stay again.

What a gem! This house comes with everything you need for a fun getaway. Tons of games, things to take to the lake like fishing poles and the kitchen is stocked with every pan and dish you could need for cooking. The location couldn't get any better. Just a short drive to Shaver Lake and many other popular locations. I highly recommend staying here!

Had a wonderful time during our stay. This was 1 of 2 cabins we reserved in the same community. There was plenty of room and beds for everyone. Was a bit stressed the day of check in since we had yet to receive our access code, but Erich responded just as we were pulling up to the cabin and we were able to enter the cabin. Definitely returning again for Shaver Lake getaways. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Four of us stayed here for a birthday weekend. Starting with arrival, gaining access was easy, and everything was ready for us to just relax and enjoy. Plenty of blankets, towels, and everything else needed to make the house as enjoyable as possible was at the ready. There is even a communal pantry where extra food is stashed from other renters, so if you forgot something, chances are it might be there already. If I had any minor complaint, it would be that it was 21 degrees outside when we arrived, and the inside was a balmy 51, so it took a few hours for the house to warm up, but that gave us an excuse to head over to the Shorthorn for a few cocktails. I'd recommend that during winter, during days where check-in will happen, perhaps increase the heat remotely. Otherwise this place is great, and we look forward to coming back soon.

Stay was nice. The house makes you feel like it’s a home away from home. Just a few friendly tips. The master bed was to firm for me to sleep on. This place is set up for many guest so I suggest split your showers up, some early afternoon, night and morning. We ran out of hot water. Other than that I enjoyed this place and my stay.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovey cabin. A variety of sleeping arrangements easily accommodated my entire family. The grandchildren throughly enjoyed the stuffed animal and many games. The home was clean and well appointed. Our host was most patient with my questions and always answered a text or phone call. Thank you for a memorable family gathering.

Our experience at the Kings Cabin in Shaver Lake was AMAZING! The cabin was fully stocked with blankets, snow gear, coats, games, food in pantry and cooking pots/machinery + more! More than enough space for my family of 15+.. The only con to our trip was the 4pm check in time :( and check out time was 11am. Also the master bedroom tub was not recommended to use due to possible water leakage down to the kitchen. However, those minor details did NOT take away from the AMAZING time we ALL had! The host was generous & kind enough to offer & allow us to unload in the garage before check in time. Really appreciated the accommodations, the prompt & friendly communication from the host. We plan to make it our yearly December gift for the kids! This was the best Christmas gift for my family, hands down! Don’t think twice and just book this cabin! You will not regret it!!!!

The only thing we wish is, we wanted to stay longer. The cabin is so spacious. I had 8 people with my reservation and we didn't even utilize all the rooms but it very nice knowing my children got to pick out rooms and enjoy the space.
Checking I'm was super easy as well...The owner contacted me the day of our checkin just to make sure we were okay, and that was very appreciative to me as a host.
We made sure to follow all rules listed which all were for safety to the guests.. I appreciative that we also had a binder of information about the cabin and the local area.
If I have to be critical, which is really hard in this circumstance, I didn't know the cabin was so close to other cabins. I had 5 children with me, and I was concern on the amount of outside noise they would make, but no one complained and infact neighboring guests, enjoy seeing my children slide down snow!
The kitchen was my favorite place! It was beautifully prepared for us..We had great kitchenware, and utensils to utilize the space. My children made a hot chocolate station, we cooked homemade chili, and made sure to clean up as we go. With that in mind, the upkeep to the kitchen is absolutely amazing!
My 2nd favorite would have to be the fireplace! It is soo nice and keeps downstairs cozy, as the heater keeper the upstairs warmer. With the snow scene and the fireplace going, that is a vacation alone!
I want to thank Erich so much for accommodating my family on our stay. And I definitely would love to book in the future.

The property was clean and well maintained with lots of beds, lots of amenities and a well-stocked kitchen. Erich was always available, if we had a question, and he was super-helpful and very kind. I've never had an owner be so available. Most never reach out at all. He was concerned about every detail and wanted to be sure we had no problems from check-in to check-out!
The only complaint I might have had was the limited availability of parking on the weekend. There is a double garage, however, so that helps!
