Location was perfect for us. Away from all Island activity. Beautiful views of water and sunsets. Kitchen and full bath mostly updated and worked well. The house and furniture are well worn and could benefit from some updating and refreshing, however, the location and views were so perfect everyone enjoyed the time and that wasn't an issue. Be aware of ticks esp. if you bring your pet. Our dog loved running around the large property. It was an awesome month !!! The Outermost Inn nearby is a fabulous dining experience.

this property has a wonderfully secluded location with lovely views with bedroom blackout blinds, but that’s about it. the kitchen is GROSS/Dirty/moldy spots and very dated and the furniture is from the 1930s and has springs that poke you in the butt when you sit down. There is miserable lighting that prevents you from actually being about to see anything in the evening. The house smells like your grandmas’ house… like dust to say the least. The beds are squeaky and very hard. the bath linens are a mis-mash of multicolored towels with bleach stains all over them. Further, i specifically chose this property because i wanted head in october… but the heat didn’t work and the inside temp was 61 degrees all weekend!!! And the last item, the property doesn’t lock… when you leave, you either need to leave the place unlocked or take any valuables with you… totally unacceptable!

Location was beautiful and scenic, very quiet. Our grandchildren had a wonderful time at the private beach, and venturing into more busy spots when we wanted to. Some suggestions for the owners include adding mini-splits (air conditioning). The house was very damp the entire week except for one day. Nothing really dried out and the bedsheets were damp. We didn’t wash them everyday due to the message to try to conserve water. Due to the humidity, all the furniture was fairly wet too which made it uncomfortable to sit on. Updating the kitchen would be great too. The drawers for towels were very musty and I ended up washing all of them and pkacing them in the small hutch. Again, we had a great time as a family, we believe with a few more amenities, the house would be absolutely perfect! The McKeagneys

We had an amazing two week stay in Aquinnah at this old school beach home. Away from the hustle and bustle, the large open home and vast property was a perfect locale for our family to convene for some island fun and relaxation. The home is vintage in style with space to spread out and it comfortably accommodated our multi-generational group and family dog. The 1.5 bathrooms are updated and the outdoor shower was key after a day at the beach. Much of the kitchen is in original form and more rustic in style but met our needs along with the grill which got much use. The location of this home cannot of be beat: a large yard for corn hole, football, and dog romping; a welcoming deck for relaxing and dining with sweeping ocean views and stunning sun rises and sunsets; Gay Head Lighthouse visible from the property and a quick walk down the street; a winding wooded path to a beach on site great for fishing, walks and fire pits and Lobsterville Beach five minutes away by car and easily accessed with owner provided beach pass for swimming, shell hunting or just relaxing on miles of sandy beach. The well known Outermost Inn a few doors down which we enjoyed on our final evening for dinner. Some trip highlights were a clam bake to go from Bill Smith’s, daily fishing at our private beach, s’mores in a beachside fire pit, croissants and cheese from the Grey Barn Farm, and quality family time and fun at this quintessential Island home. Thanks for sharing your family home with us!
