great location for those who seek a quiet hide-way next tot beautifull nature

the surrounding bananaplantations, the quiet evenings the reception with fresh banana's and avocado's , bread and coffee waiting for us since it was the first of januari and all shops were closed

Very big and nice house. Very hot place in January. No tourists. No neighbourhood, only banana :)

Be prapared for living. There is no shop in La Dama.

Lovely clean and spacious house, quiet, well-equipped and with a lovely view down to the sea

This is a lovely house with very comfortable and clean beds, lots of towels, a well-equipped kitchen, a lounge and patio with 4 chairs and a table. You are in the middle of a banana plantation and it is very peaceful. The village bar is about a 10 minute walk away and does really very basic meals and sells a few things like milk, bread, rice but nothing fresh. We struggled a bit as we were hiking around the island and couldn't buy any fresh food but the village bar didn't serve anything terribly good. Raquel the owner was very helpful and brought us some butter. We went for a swim down at La Rajita which is about a 30-40 minute walk downhill. There is nothing at La Rajita so take stuff with you but there are steps into the sea and if it is calm you can have a swim. The hike from La Dama on the GR132 to Alajero is AMAZING and should not be missed even if you have to get a taxi back again. We had hiked all of the way around the island but would still rate this walk as one of the best.

If only the lady in the village bar cooked some fresh tapas. We ordered paella and it tasted like it was from a freezer pack. The night before the only thing on offer were some deep-fried chicken sandwiches. Was pretty grim. No complaints about the house though and if you have a car, you can stock up before you arrive!
