Situated in Fayetteville, this charming house for $425 per night is a great choice for your next trip. The historic McGrath House was built in 1910 and and has been completely restored in 2015 including a newly remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, a restored firepit and a new flagstone patio in the back yard. The house has 4 bedrooms including a master bedroom on the ground floor with king bed and master bath, 3 bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom. Bedroom #2 has a king bed, Bedroom #3 is accessed through Bedroom #2 and has a full size bed and single bed. Bedroom #4 has a queen bed and single bed. A covered side porch is available for sitting outside in the shade. A large flagstone patio with masonry sitting walls is located at the back of the house. The backyard includes a firepit with sitting walls. Nearby attractions include Pies and Pints Restaurant and the day spa and Cool Beanz coffee shop across the street. Other restaurants and pubs within 2 to 4 blocks are Gumbo's, Vandal's Kitchen, Charlies Pub, Secret Sandwich Society and The Station. Guests at the McGrath House have access to the 192 acre Cascade Resort Property across the street including a tennis court and hiking trails. Guests can also walk to bike shops, antique shops, Hardrock Climbing School, Waterstone Outdoors and other nearby unique shops in downtown Fayetteville. No other property in the New River Gorge area offers this combination of luxury living, convenience to the New River Gorge National Park and downtown Fayetteville attractions and access to the Cascade Resort Property.

A group of friends stayed here to attend a wedding at the Gaines Estate. The location is prime, with anything in downtown Fayetteville in walking distance (and Pies and Pies right across the street!). We enjoyed time outside on the porch, went shopping around town, and had plenty of space and everything we needed in the house.

Our family enjoyed staying here for our daughter’s wedding. The house was very clean and well appointed. Bill was very accommodating, easy to get in touch with and provided us with information about the house and area which was very appreciated. This house is very close to the Gaines Estate and the town of Fayetteville, WV.

This was a halfway point for our family (NC and OH). We've stayed in the area three times before, but this property met our needs very well. Plenty of room, clean, and close to the New River Gorge National Park. Even found a bowling alley close by.

My wife and I were not able to travel this trip, due to COVID-19 infections. Our adult children (all 30+) and their babies were able to go. They thought the house was real nice and enjoyed the town of Fayetteville.

We try to hold a family get together every year or two. There was a several year pause after COVID made it difficult. We found the property and thought it would be a good place to try. The home was great for our needs and allowed us to come together, try some activities in the area and come back to every night. We enjoyed the experience and recommend renting this property for other people thinking of holding similar family vacations.

My son and his family were visiting from Seattle Washington, and suggested a West Virginia adventure . Staying at the McGrath house was just what we needed. Plenty of room for 4 Adults , and my granddaughters. Location couldn’t be beat. Walking distance to shops and a quick drive to adventures on the Gorge. We will be back.

We stayed in Fayetteville for part of our vacation. We wanted to be close to whitewater rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking. The house was wonderful! We had 10 in our group and there was plenty of space for everyone. It was also nice to be able to walk to restaurants and shops in town.

We loved our stay at this house. The location really could not be more convenient. The cute downtown is literally a block away, and there is excellent hiking all over. The house itself was exactly as described: charming and comfortable for all of us. We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner here. The kitchen was well-appointed and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed the fire pit in the backyard. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. The *only* thing I would say is that the living room is a bit drafty- not unexpected in a historic home of this age and during this time of year, so we were prepared for that, but if you come in winter, bring some slippers! :) We'd love to come back in summer to enjoy this home again.
