About this house rental
Located in Alexandria, this lovely house for $450 per night is a great option for your next break. This quiet private home is surrounded by trees and is less than 2 miles from downtown Alexandria and all its attractions including The Central Lakes Trail. There is everything you need to make your vacation enjoyable such as the 110' sandy beach, 2 - 10’ kayaks, large 300 square foot Trex deck facing the lake, a fire pit for sitting around enjoying the sunset, fireworks or a few S'mores and a hammock strung between two trees at the shoreline. There are 4 bedrooms (2 on each floor-4 beds are Queen size & there is 1 Twin XL roll away on each floor - 2 total - if needed), 2 full bathrooms (1 on each floor), a jacuzzi tub in the basement bathroom, 2 furnished kitchens (full kitchen on upper level & wet bar kitchenette on lower level), family room on both floors, formal dining room on both floors with tables able to seat at least 8 comfortably or 10+ with the available bench seats, a washer and dryer on each floor, high speed internet, HD LED TVs in both family rooms, an attached garage for use during your stay and a shed by the lake that houses kayaks, life vests, chairs, water toys, yard games and pretty much all you'll need to enjoy beautiful Lake Cowdry. The beach is hard sand with a boulder lined shore. There is plenty of room to tie up your boat to our new aluminum dock using the affixed slip hooks. Fishing is great right off the dock given there's a drop off about 20' from the end of the aluminum dock where many locals fish regularly. You will love the beautiful sunsets from the deck, as you're enjoying a meal grilled on the Weber gas grill or from one of many fold up camping chairs down by the lake but the fire pit (fire wood not provided, but may be purchased at multiple locations in town 2-miles away). You can grill your food and sip on your favorite beverages while watching the calm, clear waters of Lake Cowdry. There is central A/C on the main floor and window unit A/C in the basement though it is rarely needed given the amount of shade our home gets and the many windows allowing for great cross ventilation.

One week of TOTAL ENJOYMENT! The home is furnished with everything you need for a week of fun and relaxation! So close to Alexandria that if you did forget something or need an item, it was only a few miles to get it. The water was clear and the fishing was great! The yard close to the lake was good size and the hosts had life vests for every size and age, tubes, kayaks, and games (outdoor and indoor) for all of us to enjoy! If we had questions, the hosts answered immediately! One of our BEST VACATIONS EVER!

It was a wonderful chance for our family to get together. The location is wonderful - close to Alexandria for stores and restaurants, close to the biking trail and Lake Brophy County Park which has a great playground for kids. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake which is on Alexandria’s chain of lakes. Kayaking into Taylor Lake and Lake Stony was particularly nice. The shed has outdoor games, floats, life jackets and 2 kayaks. The kitchen had everything you need to prepare meals and came with lots of dishes, Our 7 year old had a wonderful time catching sunfish off ofthe dock. The bass remained elusive, but they’re out there! It was a wonderful time for everyone.

Clean spacious for our family, lots of amenities, clear quiet lake, lots of fish to catch, we had a great time, this is a perfect place to get away with your family and just hang out. The owners were in touch with us and made the whole process very easy.
Would recommend thiem and their place to everyone, being close to town and its such a nice town with much to offer makes it just another wonderful perk. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 young children and felt at home the minute we walked in the door, our family would like to come back, hopefully next year.

Awesome house on a beautiful lake. House was clean and comfy and had thought of everything we might need (including a Brita, ice cubes, and good coffee for the morning - thank you!). Took a lovely evening kayak ride and my son loved fishing from the dock. Hope to stay again next year when we're in town for the same event!

The property had everything for us. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and there were every size life jacket needed. The lake was beautiful and weather was awesome for our stay. I would gladly book this home again for my stay in Alexandria.

It was a great spot for 4 couples who came from out of state for a family celebration. It enabled us to have a place to bring the 90 year old birthday girl to join her family for evening meals and great family time. It was perfect for us!

This lake home is very comfortable, with a beautiful lake view! The home was stocked with everything we needed, the beds and furniture are comfortable. The temperature was easy to keep comfortable even for cool, fall nights. There was plenty of space for our group and the location was great for all of us coming from different directions. It was a great stay!

There were 6 of us staying at the house for a gal's weekend. The house was perfect for our group, providing enough space for playing games and spending time together. We enjoyed having a bonfire and sitting by the lake. It was helpful having 2 kitchen areas and the layout of the bedrooms was great for a large group or for families. We were able to find everything we needed in the kitchen, as it was well stocked with dishware and cooking tools. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends. The owners were really gracious with providing helpful information and making us feel welcome from their initial confirmation email to sending text messages after we had left at the end of our stay. We have many fun memories in this great lake house.

We were looking for a cabin to accommodate 9 adults and 3 children. It was very important that we try and satisfy everyone's needs. We loved our time spent boating, fishing, and swimming We loved playing games in the large backyard and having bonfires at night.
The bedrooms were great. Every room was clean and well kept. It was obviously well taken care of.
We also found it so accommodating to childten. All the little "extras" were awesome.
I really can't say enough about this place! It was wonderful and we plan on returning again next year!

This property was amazing! After reading the other reviews I was excited to share this time with my family. There was plenty of space for us to interact, and also be able to separate ourselves when the little ones went to sleep. The kitchen was fully stocked, as well as, anything you would need to use in, or around, the water. Check-in and check out procedures were seamless. Quiet lake and lots of fish around the dock. Sandy bottom and easy to get in and out of water (especially for our 3yo granddaughter). Very clean throughout the home, large deck and the walk out lower level, that also had a kitchenette and fridge, was perfect access to snacks and beverages during the day. Very close to shopping, winery and downtown Alexandria. We would book this listing again!!

Had everything we needed to make breakfasts and one dinner. We enjoyed a fire by the lake. Perfect location -lake and close to Alexandria. Plenty of parking spaces for our three cars.

This property was lovely! What I liked the most was the beautiful sunsets & haning out on te dock/kayaking & paddle boarding. We saw a bunch of loons. The place was fully equipped with anything you could ever want. Other places we have rented in past at times didn’t have enough towels or bedding or kitchen supplies, but this place very well stocked. They had movies, games, Indoor and outdoor toys, little bicycles for kids, two kayaks, Tons of Floaties, Electric pump to pump stuff up, Fishing gear, Spices in the kitchen, baking supplies in the kitchen, Paper towels, laundry detergent,etc etc. One tiny downside is that it wasn’t very walkable directly from the property (located off a busy road) but we were there more for a lake vacation so it doesn’t make a difference to us. The owners are a wonderful with communication, We had run out of propane for the grill, but they had an extra tank in the garage. They thought of everything in advance. Beautiful Cabin/home.

Kayaks and fishing off the dock were the most popular activities since water was a little cold end of May. Owners provide lots of water toys so it would be fun to visit in middle of summer.
Perfect private space in lower level for one family and main level for the grand parents. Hope to rent again.

Alexandria Getaway!!
This was a great getaway for families that live far from each other! We were able to gather together and join up at our VBO. We had perfect sunny days to start and the sandy beach was a hit as were the kayaks!!! Rained part of a day so to town we went! We all bought something and had dinner at a local restaurant . Our whirlpool did not work, but our owners plan to have it fixed and a gift card was our compensation 👍. Close to town and everyday we used the hiking trail! Enjoyed our trip and like others said, a busy street in front but a quiet backyard! Nice kitchens and baths! You won’t be disappointed!

Listed as sleeps 12. Well, beds sleep 8. There was a nice air mattress that sleeps one adult and one child. The remaining two were to sleep on one of the couches, which do not pull out as beds and were very uncomfortable. They should take that off of the description and say. Beds that sleep 8!
