About this house rental
Located in Casa De Oro-Mount, this charming house for $241 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This is my personal residence. I live in the main level. I rent the Downstairs and the Townhouse attached to the house as separate vacation rentals. All rentals are completely private on the inside. The only thing you share, is the outdoor areas, including the pool. Generally, people are not in the pool all the time, which should allow for more social distancing in the pool. But you would need to take appropriate precautions, e.g. masks/hand washing/cleaning surfaces when interacting with others or after others have utilized common areas). Prior to your arrival, please advise if you have Covid 19 symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with Covid 19 during the 14 day period prior to your arrival date. Please practice Covid 19 protocols when you are interacting with anyone on the property, outside your own reservation group. This listing is for an ~ 1250 square foot townhouse which is part of a larger ~ 5,000 Sq. Ft. estate, that includes the lower level of my residence (which can also be rented at VRBO listing #588032). Both Vacation Rentals are completely separate, updated, freshly painted with: private entrances; beautiful bathrooms; 55' flat screens in the living areas (premium cable/smart TV); 32' flat screens in the master bedroom of each listing; separate washer/dryers. You have a fully furnished kitchenette/with granite counters/stainless appliances. You look out on a beautiful kidney shaped, newly resurfaced pool, with a water slide and LED color changing pool light, hot tub, waterfall, deck, Travertine patio, BBQ island/bar/sink with a large built in gas grill & granite counter-top, fire pit with decorative glass rock. The pool is solar heated, thereby extending the swimming season. Patios/pool/outdoor areas are open ONLY from 9 A.M. to 10 P.M. The rental, including the patio/pool/outdoor areas, are for paying guests ONLY. If you wish to entertain non-paying individuals, do so at a location off the property. Large, 3/4 acre, fenced, private, property with fruit trees for you to enjoy/consume when in season (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, apple and lemon). The property has stunning mountain and canyon views to the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Helix. Very private and tranquil. Outdoor aviary and occasionally I see a flock of wild parrots fly by or perch in the trees. There is only off street parking. This Vacation Rental listing has 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, sleeps 6 with two queen beds, two twin (trundle) beds, (and a queen inflatable air mattress if needed). For groups of 1 to 6, rent this one Vacation Rental listing. For groups of 7 to 14, rent both Vacation Rental listings. The base rent for each Vacation Rental listing covers the first two people staying in the listing. For additional persons (beyond two), staying in the listing, there is an additional $25 per person daily fee. The outdoor areas are the only thing you share with others staying at the property. Pets may be brought for a fee, upon approval. Please note I have two female Goldendoddles (born 11/22/19), on the property, but will not interact with you, unless you request they do.

This property was very tastefully decorated with beautiful paintings, crown moldings and an actual dolphin fountain! The waterfall in front was also very nice! The gardens out back were awesome with paving stones and hand rails everywhere! Jeffrey is a very nice and helpful host!
The hot tub was very warm and enjoyable.
The only downside was the many stairs. But we got our exercise over the 4 days we were there! And Jeffrey and his helper Jose were very nice to help us get our luggage and ice chests down to our townhouse! Overall a great getaway!! Thanks, Jeffrey!! We would love to come back!

This neighborhood is beautiful, & peaceful, not to mention the views from the property. The townhouse is beautiful, & the beds are super comfortable. We would love to come back! Jeff is a wonderful host, quick to respond but not at all intrusive. Highly recommend!

Property lovely and extensive. Everywhere we looked there was a little yard statue or point of interest that almost always started a conversation between us. Nice coming back to the house after a long hot day to that pool.
Owner was available for questions but not intrusive.

This is a beautiful location with comfortable bedding and plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The property had everything we needed for our stay. Jeffrey was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. It was not as toddler friendly as I must have thought when booking. The kitchen area is upstairs and the stairs can be slick with ceramic tile flooring. But overall, the home was beautiful and accommodating! Great host!

We traveled with my elderly parents and my two children ages 9 and 12 to stay for 5 days in San Diego. This property was fantastic and Jeff the host was great! He answered lots of questions for us about surrounding activities, restaurants and stores. He was very responsive prior to and during our arrival. He does live on site but was not intrusive at all.
The grounds of this house are beautiful! It has a fantastic view and their are numerous fruit trees. The house was great for us. I would say the stairwell is a bit slick but not a problem by any means. Beds are very comfortable. I would stay here again. It is also a good location for enjoying the surrounding area.

The property has two rental units. This one was perfect for Grandparents on lower level and Kids and Grandkids on upper level. The other unit is a single level.
This unit had everything we needed + extras. The pool was clean and maintained. The property manager supported all request and RESPONDED back almost immediately. EVEN after we left the property.
This was a STANDOUT of all our short term rentals.

Our host Jeffery was a really fabulous host. Hands on and so helpful. We were able to bring our dog and enjoy the beautiful terrace garden. The deck is so enjoyable, pool and the views are spectacular. It’s a very comfortable, quiet space.

First of all, Jeff was fantastic. He was quick to respond to any questions prior to our stay and was flexible if our flight came in early for check-in. Once we were there on the property he was helpful and friendly and looked out for his guests.
This is a shared property with another rental (we were lucky and had good experiences with the other renters while we stayed there as well), and Jeff lives upstairs. We never had an issue sharing the common space (pool, BBQ, hot tub) and there is a ton of outdoor space for seating and wandering. There are fruit trees on the property that Jeff lets you pick from, the lemons were our personal favourite.
We were travelling with two-and-a-half year old twins and it was a perfect unit to stay in with myself, my husband, my toddlers, and my parents. This unit is the one you can rent if you have non-swimming aged children as the unit has a latched gate separating your unit from the pool, where as the other unit's door opens directly into the pool area.
My husband and I stayed in the room upstairs with our toddlers, it has a queen bed and a day bed with a trundle pull out, perfect for two kids. Things to note: the pool is not heated (which did not bother our children in the least) and the stairs in the unit are tile (if you have young kids staying there, perhaps consider bringing a gate to prevent a slip).
The view from the property is gorgeous and the weather we found was warmer there than in San Diego (not being directly on the water). However, it was close enough to San Diego that our day trips to the Zoo, Sea World and the Safari Park were easy to get to.
We would hands-down book again at the property and with Jeff and it would be a great place to stay with a large group and book both suites. Thanks Jeff for a great family vacation!

Beautiful Mt. Helix Townhouse!
Beautiful, quiet, and well-maintained property with outstanding views of Mount Helix and the surrounding area. It was our "home away from home" for a week while work was being done on our house, and we were extremely pleased with our choice to stay here. The owner truly cares about the property, is very friendly and accommodating, allows pets, and we would recommend this property to anyone.

My daughters and I had a great time here. The house has a beautiful view. There is a great deck with a pool and hot tub. My daughters loved the pool slide. The rental was very spacious and clean. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Almost Paradise
This place is so beautiful tucked away in a gorgeous mountain setting with hot sunny days and cool nights. The owner has thought of everything a guest might need. It is well maintained and has beautiful flowers and fruit trees along a wandering path like a secret garden. The oranges were ready to pick which Jeff, the owner invited us to do. They may have been the best I've ever tasted. Our Family of 13 rented both units which made it so nice to not have to share the pool, hot tub, or fire pit with outsiders. The more active of our group loved visiting the various parks, cliffs, and hiking places while the grandma's stayed more poolside. Everyone went to the ocean to surf (grandma's watched) and enjoyed the seals at La Jolla and shopping at Old Towne. We were within 20 minutes of everything and a lot closer to stores. We cooked in every night (Covid 19) but found that to be rather fun with 2 well stocked kitchens and a great grill area. Just be sure to discuss cost with Jeff so there are no surprises. Our time in this paradise went by too fast as we made many memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Jeff and you adorable puppies.

As long as you avoid rush hour traffic, it's a remarkably quick trip to downtown attractions. The place had everything we needed and if anything ran out or there was a problem, Jeff was on it. He is a gracious host - and he has 2 adorable pups! We particularly appreciated the large walk-in closet where we could store our winter gear. As noted, there are lots of steps but if you are in reasonably good condition, they shouldn't be a problem. PS: the oranges are delicious!
