About this house rental
Situated in St James City, this lovely house for $184 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This is a fisherman;s paradise with a boat lift, and you are only minutes from the waters of Pine Island Sound. This area is know for some of the best fishing for snook, redfish, trout, grouper, snapper pompano, cabia and more. Make your way to the north past Sanibel, Captiva and Cayo Costa to the waters around Boca Grande Pass, and find the largest tarpon population in the world. After all of that wears you out, why not just relax and fish the sandy flats and mangroves always just minutes away. There are also fishing charter services available nearby. Cayo Costa State Park and Sanibel Island have some of the most beautiful beaches on the West Coast of Florida. Lets not forget to mention some of most gorgeous sunsets in the world. Local musicians can be found almost every night of the week playing at many of the excellent local restaurants and bars on the island. This whole area gives you the laid back feeling of 'Old Florida' so that everything you do can be on 'Island Time'. No stop lights or fast food here. Kavaking is wonderful here also, and kayak rentals are available. Bicycle rentals are also close by with great bike paths the length of the island. This well kept canal front home you will be enjoying has everything you need, with an open floor plan living and dining area, and a large sun room screened in area. Nice view of the canal thru large windows and glass sliding doors along the canal side of home. Out there is a new gas grille and a fish cleaning station over at the boat lift. If you have a boat, bring it along and use the boat lift, and there is room on the property to park you boat trailer. The home is also pet-friendly

House is very nice. We have gone her multiple times and is perfect for boating and fishing. There is a covered hoist. Location is perfect for getting to the big water and beaches in the sound. Bring your boat!

Very nice newly renovated home with covered boat dock set up that worked great for our 22 ft boat, also outstanding location to get to open water! Home had all that we needed for a nice 3 day fishing trip. Laura was super responsive and flexible, ready to go back!

If you like to fish/stay right in the water, this is the house for you! Ample dock space to fish from, or pull your boat into. The Covered dock and boat lift is awesome. We brought our boat and launched at very nearby Monroe Canal Marina. We drove the boat to several close by awesome fishing spots—redfish pass in North Captiva, Sanibel Bridge, and Blind pass. We caught grouper and snook. By boat, you are one canal away from Phuzzy’s Boat Shack restaurant also Lighthouse restaurant at Port Sanibel Marina and Grandma Dots, all great restaurants by boat !
Fully stocked kitchen, clean home and lots of outdoor seating to have the great water view when drinking coffee in the morning. Very quiet peaceful neighborhood. Laundry—clean washer and dryer. A/C worked well, just make sure you have sun room porch door closed (push close all way to right).
Great for locals for a fishing stay-cation as well as those out of town. Will recommend to friends

Overall, a nice place to stay though. We really enjoyed it overall.

The canal in back is a delight to look at and easy to use for fishing. Inside was clean and comfortable with a large well-provisioned kitchen and plenty of seating to lounge in. The main bathroom is a Jack and Jill between the two bedrooms so must be shared for showering, and there is a separate half bath off the rear of the house. We had a lovely stay and would use the house again, we have been visitors to Pine Island since the 80’s and really like the area.

Stopover en route to Keys

Location/Home Update
This was a good location for boating and fishing. The home needs some serious updating and it's disappointing not to have a pool in the community. You have to drive 15 minutes away to a city pool, pay a fee and it's closed on Sunday. The cable TV only gets a few channels. Breaker tripped when we used the stove, microwave and coffee maker all at the same time, not a electrician but I'm sure this is not good. The master shower door barely closed due to rust build up and corrosion in the track. Just needs to TLC and it would be a better home to stay in.

Weekend Baby Shower
My wife and I invited our parents from varying states to join us in Florida for a small get together to celebrate the birth of our daughter due in July. It was a wonderful experience. We caught fish, saw manatees, and enjoyed the serene beauty of western florida.

The home was clean, living space was nice,it was not 3bed, 2bath 2nd bath was a converted closet with no privacy Location is great and loved the covered lift, but we had requested 2 wks prior to check in at 1,when we arrived cleaning lady still was there, we were given a code for garage key pad which never worked, nor did the remotes for doors, there was no offer for anyone to come to see if it could be fixed. We managed ok but would probably not rent again

Problems and poor communication
When we arrived the doors where locked with no access. Owners seemed confused what property was being rented. Hvac was off and extremely hot. When turned on still reading 80 degrees after several hours. Mold
Problems in the home when we explained to the owner she said no problems and if we wanted any money back to be out at 10am. No help with ac or concern of mold issues causing it hard to breathe. We left a day early, again owner didn’t seem to care only about receiving her full dollar amount! Also no toilet

Winter Escape
We rented this property for a winter get away from the northern cold and snow. Everything listed in explaining the property in the listing is correct. The house was great. The area where the house is located was great and the neighbors we met were very friendly and helpful seeing this was our first time in St James City. My wife found the kitchen well set up for cooking many of our meals. The canal off the back of the property was a good place to try fishing and just sitting and watching the Manatee family that seemed to like being there. Even Cody our yellow lab enjoyed his daily walks and all the new things he could smell. We wanted to re-rent for next year but unfortunately we were too late. This area has great weather and therefore is popular for snow birds.

This was a last minute trip for me but it could not have worked out any better. Patricia was excellent and very helpful. She is just a phone call away.
Home is very clean and had anything you could ever need.
