Wonderful stay in Keswick

A beautiful place to stay. Our room was decorated very tastefully, with a gorgeous 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. The ensuite has been renovated tastefully and had a wonderful bath in it. Proximity to town was great and the owners such helpful & accomodating hosts.

Warm, comfortable accommodations. We felt very welcome.

Matt and Leigh were exceptional hosts, really lovely, helpful people. The breakfasts were amazing, the beds were incredibly comfortable. We lacked for nothing. Allerdale Guest House is the only place to stay in Keswick as far as we’re concerned. Can’t wait to return.

Relaxing, friendly,

The breakfast choice was phenomenal, so much to choose from and plenty to eat and everything was well cooked and presented. The hosts were very welcoming and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We felt so relaxed and at home staying there, it was a pity we had to leave, but we’ll definitely be back!! The location was just a 5 minute walk to the town centre, and at night it was so quiet. The accommodation was fantastic, so plush, so clean and spotless, large size room, big comfortable four poster bed! The furnishings were so rich looking it just screamed high class. Everything was just so perfect we couldn’t have asked or needed more. There were even slices of home made cake left out for you to take with you on your journeys every day.( and again high praise must be given to Matt!) As I’ve said the hosts Matt and Leigh treated us so well we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely recommend you stay at The Allerdale Guest House. Almost forgot to mention the off road parking, very much appreciated.( there’s just so many great points, you will not regret your stay there.)

Superb in every way.

Great location; near enough to be convenient for town, but lovely and quiet. Fantastic breakfasts, with a wide range of choices, even the brand of tea. Nothing was too much trouble for Mat and Leigh, we were made very welcome.

No improvements are necessary. Leigh made it clear that if there was anything we needed, we simply had to ask.

Perfect Stay in Keswick

Loved our 3 night stay in this beautiful guesthouse. The house is gorgeous and close to everything. Out room was cozy, comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean and the breakfast is fantastic with anything you could want. Best of all Leigh and Mat are amazing hosts and gave us so many tips on how to make the most of our short stay and every recommendation was fantastic. My only regret is I only booked 3 nights. We will definitely book again next time we visit the Lakes.

An excellent four night stay at Allerdale Guest House

The room and facilities were very good and breakfast was excellent. The location is a perfect base for the local wainwrights and the town centre. The staff were very helpful and service was very good.

We had an amazing time in Keswick

Breakfast was amazing, daily fresh baked cakes left in hallway for us to help ourselves were delicious and the location was great plus free private off street parking. Matt and his wife were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome, we highly recommend you stay here if you are thinking of visiting Keswick.

Great guest house in an excellent location within walking distance to Keswick town centre

Matt and Leigh went above and beyond with making us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble with printing us maps of local walks and advice on where to visit. Rooms were spotlessly clean and breakfast was superb. Freshly baked cakes to take on our walks. Definitely will be back.

Fantastic BB !

Absolutely lovely BB, The host could not do enough for us, the hotel was so lovely clean and quirky, The breakfast was plentiful,lots to choose from all delicious too!! Can’t wait to return next year!

A perfect stay!

Everything was fantastic, Leigh and Mat were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, their hospitality and customer service was outstanding! Our room was spacious, had everything we needed and was decorated beautifully. The house was spic and span throughout. A freshly prepared breakfast was available every morning with plenty of cold and hot options including quality local produce... Absolutely delicious! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Made very welcome by Matt & Leigh. Very clean and decor pleasantly done. Breakfasts to die for and nothing too much trouble. Easy walk to town and free parking as an added bonus.

A lovely way to spend time in the Lakes

Leigh and May very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and there was home made cake available each day. Really nicely decorated and very clean. Coffee machine in room a bonus and we were given a selection of coffees to try. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Great location, great hosts and super breakfast !

good location for Keswick centre and walks. Lovely breakfast, lots of options and very friendly hosts. Daily complimentary slices of homemade cake a lovely touch. Slept well on a very comfy bed. loved the original decor !

Nothing really, but the wardrobe didn't have a storage shelf and only 2 very slim drawers, so some more drawers would be welcome, but that's nit picking! We personally aren't keen on espresso coffee machines and would have loved some box standard nescafe, but that's just us!

Absolutely exceptional

Loved this hotel. Staff cannot do enough for you. We stayed for my birthday and our anniversary. My husband has arranged flowers and champagne in the room on arrival. Absolutely gorgeous flowers and a huge thank you from myself and my husband for an exceptional stay. Will definitely be going back and I would highly recommend.

Excellent B&B

Allerdale was exceptionally clean. Mat & Leigh very polite, friendly and made us feel welcome. Our room was lovely, very comfortable with good complimentary amenities. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great choice of produce too. We would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing we didn't like, could not fault the place at all.

Beautiful, tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean guest house. Only 5 minutes walk from Keswick town centre. Matt & Leigh are wonderful hosts, even leaving home baked treats for us to enjoy for free. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you.

Our hosts could not have done more for us. Ideas about walks, restaurants, pubs etc. Great breakfasts, freshly prepared. We'll stay again, but will make sure we book early for a larger room.

The best uk stay in a while

The property was so clean and comfortable and perfectly located in relation to the town centre and amenities. The breakfast was exceptional. Mat and Leigh are so friendly and welcoming. Probably one of the nicest places we stayed at in the UK for quite some time.

An absolute gem…

From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a fabulous break… This is an exceptional property with fabulously friendly hosts. The whole guest house is spotless and really beautifully designed. Rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious with little touches including a Nespresso machine and complimentary cake. The breakfast is better than any 5 star hotels and so much choice with all tastes catered for. When we return to Keswick we will certainly return here too… a fabulous place! Thank you Leigh and Mat

Blissful rest in Keswick.

Absolutely everything. The room was lovely. Breakfast was delicious and very satisfying. Mat and Leigh are such nice people. Nothing is too much trouble. We felt so safe and welcome. Free parking and only 10 minutes walk to the town centre.

Only a small thing but we found the bed a bit too firm for us.
