Trail Runner’s Retreat (formerly Weigh 2 Kool) is a lovely, recently rejuvenated, townhome in the quiet, convenient and easily accessed Woods End neighborhood. It’s a short, easy walk or a trail runner’s dream path, to Canaan Valley’s National Wildlife Refuge where wildlife and running (or walking) trails abound. The house was great! Nice little extras that most houses don’t provide like sugar, creamer pods and olive oil - all the things we forgot! How was nice and spacious and the hot tub was amazing!

Our stay was very nice and the town home was very nicely furnished, comfortable beds, and very clean.There are trails directly from the house out the back door for walking, hiking and bike riding. Plenty of room to spread out inside and beautiful deck with places to sit and enjoy nature. We enjoyed our stay and definitely would rent again and/or recommend this home for vacations!

We spent a lot of time in the house because of the weather. It turned out to be a very relaxing vacation! The house was so cozy. Having our dogs with us was a plus. Already planning to book again - hopefully we will get in some skiing next time.

The house was perfect! We were two couples and we have two dogs. The house was clean, furished for everyone to have a comfortable seat, fully stocked, and such a treat as dog owners to walk in, see something so nice and then have doggie creature comforts too. Short walk to Timberline as well.

Super clean, very comfortable in general - all around. We did not bring our dog with us this time but I can see how it would be a perfect rental for those with dogs. The hot tub location is excellent - provides lots of privacy. Easy, short drive to Timberline. Owner provided coffee and related accompaniments and that was a nice touch. Excellent wifi and smart tvs. Would definitely request to rent this unit again! Can't think of anything that was a problem, not at all.

Canaan is a great place to visit - any season, any weather. Whether you enjoy outdoor adventures or just getting away from real life for a few days, you will find it at Canaan. Weigh 2 Cool is a great place to stay - centrally located in the valley, near hiking, biking, wilderness areas, both ski areas. Shopping and local restaurants are a short drive away. The unit is very well outfitted, is clean, has comfortable beds and seating, and has plenty of room to relax for a few days. The online description and pictures are very representative of what is in the unit. The Best of Canaan staff were very helpful and pleasant and I highly recommend them. Overall our time at Weigh 2 Cool was a great rental experience from start to finish.

Perfect area for a Family Reunion. We all got cabins around each other. Quiet, clean location that we we were able to walk to each other's place easily and safely. Our place was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. It was the perfect get-a-way.

house was very clean and well equipped with the necessities needed for comfort. location was less desirable because we did not have access to dolly sods. Dusty roads to and from were an issue with the need to get car-washes frequently. Was looking forward to have some time In the hot-tub, however the hot-tub was not able to be used because of the cover which was very heavy and the design of the deck area did not allow it to be removed and stored with much difficulty. Owner really has to get a new light weight cover. I voiced my complaint to the office staff when turning in the keys and she said she would send me a refund for the hot-tub fee since I was unable to use it. Our dog came back with a light case of fleas. our dog is a house dog and has been seen by Vet frequently and has never had fleas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Trail Runner's Retreat. The house was just as advertised...fully equipped kitchen, hot tub was relaxing after a long day of skiing, and a short drive to Timberline. After 12 inches of snow it was a nice surprise to have the driveway and road plowed early the next morning. We look forward to coming back.

We enjoyed meals from Riverfront Wood-Fired Pizza, Canaan BBQ, and especially Sirianni's and enjoyed a couple of pints at Stumptown Ales and Mountain State Brewing as well as pastries from Tip Top.
If we return to the area in the future, we would hope to book Trail Runner's Retreat again!

Rental was great clean had almost everything you needed we will be returning easy check in and out. It would have been nice if check out was a little later than 10 considering what was expected for renters are do before check out. We didn't mind but you need to get up a litter early in morning or start the nite before. This was the first time I've had a list like this We did every thing on the list and I'm a little confused We washed the towels we used striped off the bedding that was used I guess this the new standard way . Plus we paid a cleaning fee . So all in all we did have a great time and the place was beautiful. Thing is when we got there the first thing we did was pull out our own towels and yes we travel with disinfecting spray and wipes. So you get the idea

Great Vacation! Great rental!
This was an amazing rental! It took a bit to get to dolly sods but for the price and amenities it was totally worth it! The hot tub is covered so it can be used rain or shine. Everyone slept well, and I loved sleeping on the twin bed on the second floor - one of the comfiest beds I've slept in, in a rental cabin! I love that there was a TV in my room as well, and there was a TV in the other rooms too. The house comes with puzzles, a board game or two and lots of movies on DVD and NetFlix/Hulu so there is lots to view. The fireplace was super nice and really brought the living room together for a super cozy atmosphere. It was 3.5 hrs away from our home but the affordable price and stellar amenities plus super cozy beds makes me want to go back! The rental company was super responsive and answered all my questions. Key pick up and drop off was a breeze, and they made it super easy to find as it was on the way to the cabin. I will certainly keep this place in mind for a future vacation! Thank you for having us!!

Phenomenal Getaway
Everything about Trail Runner’s Retreat was perfect for our family! Well stocked (the coffee was an added bonus), super clean, and great location!!! We did a short hike from our front door in the mornings, and then drove 15-20 minutes to gorgeous hiking for the rest of the day! The hot tub and fire pit were extra nice, especially for the kids!
