We had a wonderful one-week stay at Mecaja Beach House and truly enjoyed every moment of it. The peaceful, calm beach right in front of the house was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the beach and nature. One of the highlights of our stay was the fresh, healthy food. We loved eating vegetables harvested directly from the garden, fresh tropical fruits, and delicious seafood brought in directly by local fishermen. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Also, we got to enjoy kayaking because there's a sandbar like a hundred meters from the beach house. Totally awesome!
The host/owner Gerd and Christian was incredibly hospitable, welcoming, and accommodating, always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. We got to see the hanging bridge of Roxas too because of their childrens hospitality. The personnel were equally friendly, attentive, and helpful, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere throughout our visit.
Mecaja Beach House is a wonderful place for anyone looking for peace, fresh food, beautiful surroundings, and genuine Filipino hospitality. We would happily return in the future.
There were also a few things that could be improved. During our stay, we unfortunately got quite a lot of niknik (sandfly) bites, personally, I counted mine around 76 bites! 🥵 This was probably the most uncomfortable part of the experience, especially for the children, so bringing insect repellent would definitely be advisable. Note: Niknik are all over Palawan NOT only in Mecaja Beach.
The journey to Mecaja Beach House is also quite challenging and longer than we expected, as part of the road is rough. However, we felt that the peaceful surroundings made the journey worthwhile.
Another thing to consider is that the rooms do not have air conditioning. The natural surroundings are beautiful, but the rooms can get quite warm, and our children were not particularly comfortable staying in the rooms because of the heat.
Overall, these are areas that could be improved, but they did not take away from the beautiful location and warm hospitality.

Amazing value for money, quiet, pool table, friendly service, good wifi at restaurant, room directly on the beach, cheap massages, dive services, private island hopping.
Road in is very rough, is set in quiet village setting, so no external shops or activities.

Very nice staff.
the owners arranged for a private island hopping tour for our family (we were carrying 3 months baby).. we were caught by a rain storm as we were on the boat.. the crew was protecting my wife and baby of the rain literally with their bodies which was very much appreciated...
The access is quite complicated... even with 2x4 car, it was not obvious to reach the place with the muddy road...
Beach isn't fantastic.. low tide takes the beach 300 m back..
poor Wi-fi, poor equipment (especially the Bath room).
